Totally agree, I wonder how these people can call themselves SUPPORTERS…. surely there is a clue in the term.
Supporters don’t turn up at games and abuse the very staff that they proclaim to support.
Wasn’t Wenger, Fergusen (and even Bobby at Swansea) getting greif from their respective supporters because of bad/indifferent starts to their carrers at Manchester and arsenal, bith of these are veterans now.
I am lucky (or not dependant on how you look at it) that I went through the really bad times at Latics, so this is nothing compared to those days, there are a lot of people out there that need a very big reality check….
I just wonder what these same people will be like when/if we stay up… and more to the point whether they will be there next season whatever the division….
I do call myself a proper supporter Jay, I’ve watched us thru all 4 divisions, and can still remember how numb I felt when Philpotts took us down in our only relegation. Ten times worse than the Gillingham defeat at Wembley. How we thought we would bounce back, how the crowds dropped, then the Swain era.
Don’t kid yourself that people who don’t have any confidence in Martinez are JCL’s who will crawl back into the woodwork if we go down. I didn’t last time and I won’t if we go down again. It’s the rough with the smooth, but if we can prolong the smooth, lets do it. A lot of people draw comparisons between Jewell and Martinez, but if memory serves me right, didn’t Colin Lee get brought in to help Jewell during his rough patch? I don’t want to sound “Hysterical” as owd git calls it, but let’s not behave like lemmings either.“If Roberto hasn’t got what it takes then so what”…
That says it all, that’s the difference. I guess it hurts some people more than others if we’re relegated or not.
Depends what you call constuctive Dave, and you yourself have been guilty of “Martinez bashing.” I don’t call closing your eyes and pretending we are not in trouble constructive. This is a fans forum afterall isn’t it?
i went to every game in paul jewells 1st season, it was not a good team but at least we had a go at teams and attacked. All im seeing this season is pass pass pass and end up nowhere.Correct Jonesy, we arent playing the percentages. Possession on the edge of your own penalty area counts for nothing.
We were a mid table side when Roberto took over…
4-5-1, 4-3-3, 5-3-2, sweepers, wingbacks, in the hole, lone strikers, total football. I’ve seen em all in my time, but for me it always comes back to 4-4-2, coz it’s simple to understand, and i like many pro footballers, am a simpleton.
Do you know Ironing Board George?
I wouldn’t be knowing, colour doesnt come into it. :D
Can’t remember being relegated with Kenny Swain Aceface.
Ian Holloway?
So you’re just sticking by your guns and current form has nowt do with it then?
Bob, like Bruce, will have been offered £1 million to keep us up. He’s not likely to go because there is still a decent chance Portsnouth, Burnley. Wolves and Hull will do worse over the next few months. Blimey they’ll have to be bad to let us stay up.
All four of those clubs will finish below Latics.[/quote]
My God, I hope you’re right, but I don’t share your confidence.I agree. We’ve spent an awful lot of time, hard work and money getting into the prem. Just to throw it all away now will be a disaster for this club. Those ppl who say they would welcome a return to the championship are deluded. Cannot see us selling our allocation at somewhere like Leeds again, and taking the p hiss. (Assuming they come up) If Bobby truly loves this club, he’d fall on his sword now. Survival is paramount.
He’s deluded, just because he has an o and an ez at the end of his names he thinks we can play like Barca, personally I think we’d be better off with Johno Arkwrightez.
I wouldn’t class the tics as the titanic to be honestU will if we go down.
