Yes Standish no problem but with another front man just behind him or beside him and with another out and out winger to replace him out wide.
Well we were all there and we did not witness much tippy tappy passing sideways and backwards. we got stuck in, moved the ball forward and went at City and went looking for a win.
The same way we played the previous season when we were almost down and BOb changed things and we went on and stayed up.
I seem to also recall during Bruces final season we were pushing for a European place as an established Premier League club only to have the side torn apart at Christmas with selling players.Six goals from McClean is the sort of number of goals you would expect a midfielder to score in a season. Maybe more. Even as a winger he should be chipping in with a few.
Was Waghorn suspended? That puts payed to him but there was Fortune and McKay plus the young loanee lad from Liverpool and our own youngsters. In a match we needed desperately to win why not shit or bust if the choices are there.
Calamitys choice was to purposely not play with strikers or a left winger and make do with a left winger out of position up front on his own. A choice through tactics and not through desperation.
A wrong choice.
We want our club back. We want real football!Well Clarke was left out. Not good enough for an average Wolves side but deemed good enough for us. Wolves didn’t play a left sider upfront on his own with their average strikers on the bench but we did in a do or die match. We had all the possession as an home club lining up like we did should but an average Wolves side win.
There for the taking but given the win with negative tactic s before a ball was kicked.
We want our club back! We want real football! No the FA Cup was won by Bob reverting back to real football in the style we had been accustomed to in the past.
Please Mr Sharpe, we want our club back!Calamity had a choice but chose to weaken the left side and chose not to have any confidence in any of his strikers. It wouldn’t have mattered last week and this if he had tried two youngsters up top. He chose a stupid line up. He must have learned this off the last four managers he has worked under. Four managers who have undone everything that had been done by Jewell and Bruce in making us a force to be reckoned with on a national scale. Five managers, three seasons and two relegations. That’s what their football has brought us.
Grant Holt hasn’t put a foot wrong. He has been superb. His performace at Burton Albion as sub is a stand out moment this season.
Joking apart anywhere but here under our shite management tactics he would have had 20 goals last and this season.Fortune and McKay together with the Londonderry Lout out wide over a twenty match period could not have been any worse than the fiasco witnessed this season.
I reckon due to the fact they play with strikers they will go up and also Milton Keynes who also play with strikers will too. Our shite management don’t feel strikers are important and this unfortunately will relegate us. Lesson learnt for next year??? I think not!
Calamity picks the team and his negative tactics stink. We can not begin the next season with his type of tactics, team selection and formations. Its shit.
Yes and as mentioned. Leicester and Burnley. Watford and Bournemouth. Positive attacking football played how it should be played similar to us and Sunderland during that era. Floundering at the bottom?? No. Please bring in someone who plays real football. Not just bloody real but sensible. Small squad, two strikers, one winger, attacking wing backs, battling midfielder, attacking midfielder, a long passer and fines for the player who passes backwards the most in a match. Why did Gary start that way today? What was wrong with starting with a similar line up that finished last week.
Don’t know Mr Brownbill but Sharpey needs to get shut now. Something was said on here weeks ago about binning anyone loaned or who won’t be here next year and using youth to build for next year. But no no no. Same old shite and the f’ing idiots with their piss take tactics have taken us down anyway. Burnley and Leicester last year and Watford and Bournemouth have played football how it should be played. Have they suffered from real attacking football. Have they Frig.
If Bob had have let the players play the way they did in the FA Cup then we may well have been entertaining Chelsea today in the annual relegation dogfight. Just ask Lostock and Horc they endured much more of his dull as dishwater negative bilge than I could face at the time.
That was a red wine and Weston’s vintage mistake. Meant to say not a really good left midfielder.
Agree with Egg his pace is electric but his end passing let’s him down. Also would admit if played up front he needs a partner and either a decent left or right midfielder or attack minded defender. We haven’t seen the best in any side this season because of the endless changing of players, positions and formations.Think we need a new Whelan and a new Jewell or even a new Bruce but please not another Bobby.
