Is it 4 or 10 ? Bob can’t quite decide going off that ! ha ha :cheer:

I know exactly what he was saying. How’s your Spanish?
Not too good but I am pretty confident that if I had been living there for the last 20 years I would be pretty fluent! ;)

I certainly don’t buy into this ‘Tired’ malarkey. Both the size and quality of our squad should have seen us comfortably in the play offs and we should on paper still do it but only if we beat Birmingham tonight ! Blackburn are a team in good form and I don’t fancy us beating them at theirs on Saturday should we not do the business tonight !

They spent £100m on the promenade about 3 years ago and I must admit the front does look a hell of a lot better since said shell out ( No pun intended ! )

Burnley for me. One of the favourites to go down at the beginning of the season, run on a shoestring budget and a pretty small squad, total kudos goes to everyone involved !

We will know soon enough whether he was right or not or whether we are good enough to go up or not ! Either way I aint arsed as a part of me would rather stay here in the Championship!

Actually, on Saturday 12 April, although Arsenal won at Wembley, Everton won at Sunderland and went into fourth place in the league above Arsenal.

Arsenal fans looked relieved as they left Wembley, while Everton fans were feeling ecstatic.

I didn’t notice the Everton players celebrating over exuberantly after they had beaten Sunderland ! ;)

Nobody said he seriously fucked up, just fucked up ! He realised at half-time that some further tinkering had to be done as he hadn’t set the engine running correctly but even then he didn’t quite get the mix right! Fortune over Powell as Waghorn was injured was a faux pas in my view but hey what do I know eh ! I could say that you push the door to open and you would say that you pull it but I don’t really care as I have just given my opinion which is what this forum is for ! Sheeesh !

Bill Kenwright needed a new manager. He appointed Roberto because he had a good record of managing with limited resources.

Premier League wage bills for 2012/13 should be published soon – but looking at those for 2011/12, Arsenal had a wage bill of £144 million. Everton’s was £62 million, less than half of Arsenal’s.

Arsenal had the fourth highest wage bill. They should be challenging for the championship regularly – and winning it from time to time. But haven’t won any trophy at all since the FA Cup nine years ago.

Everton came mid-table in the list of wage bills. For them, to finish higher than that in the League table is success.

So Everton lag far behind Arsenal, both financially and in their potential to win trophies. I wonder if Arsenal fans are happier than Everton fans.

They looked happier the other Saturday ! I hope Hull beat them but I can’t see it to be honest ! If they finish 4th they will also be better equipped to progress in the Champions league than Everton will ! It’s a bit like us going up again, we sort of know deep down that we will probably struggle !

He rotated the squad again but his choice of rotation left a lot to be desired, in other words he fucked up and I think he knows he did ! If we should get beat on Saturday, which on paper we shouldn’t, we really will be looking over our shoulders should other results go against us ! Burnley made us look pretty average and if like some have suggested we threw the game then that hardly sends out any war cries to our prospective play-off opponents! Just think what the others would have been thinking had we beat Burnley at their place just after making a mockery out of Readings promotion push and then going on to despatch Blackpool, Birmingham and Blackburn with equal aplomb ! Harry would have been twitching like fuck and McClaren would have been rooting out his umbrella from under the stairs ! It’s all about momentum and timing if you ask me but I aint the gaffer and so let’s see if he knows what he is doing ! We aint done too good with the last couple of relegation possible candidates( One has since gone down) that have come to visit us so lets hope that changes come Saturday !

Everton or Bill Kenwright in this case has realised that Everton as a football club need to move onto the final level of Premiership football and that level is Champions League football and that is why he has employed RM who has promised them just that! They don’t really have the money to compete though and even if they finished 4th I think they would struggle just like they did last time they qualified for it ! They will never attract the bigger names out there in Europe because they are not that fashionable type of club like the proverbial ‘Big 4’ which for me is still Liverpool,Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal. City have bought their way into elite status but have yet to win the coveted Champions League trophy and even though Arsenal haven’t won said trophy they have had success in Europe and have plenty of league titles and FA Cup winners( Not champions ! )to their name ! So in answer to your question ( Not that you didn’t already know ) not many teams in the Prem are successful but then not many have lingered in the top flight for so long and not won anything hardly. Arsenal have a similar claim to Everton as regards to top flight football and they have won a lot more silverware ! Everton will always be the proverbial bridesmaids in my view !

19 years without any silverware isn’t really success in my book ! Maintaining their place in the top flight with all the money that goes with it these days yet nothing really to show for it spells mediocrity and not success ! The league and Champions league is way beyond them money wise but with the big clubs concentrating on the aforementioned ‘Holy Grails’ surely they have the resources to at least win one of the other cups available ! You could see the reaction of the Arsenal players and fans after beating us what winning ( Or in this case the chance of winning greatly increased ) some silverware really does mean to them and they have only gone 9 years without !

Yes, it’s strange that Stones preferred a successful Premier League club to an impoverished one fighting relegation.

Moyes was more comfortable with players from modest backgrounds – Jagielka and Baines for example. He didn’t really go in for European and South American superstars – which was part of the problem when he went to United.

                              Define success ! ;)

I just think it is a little unfair on Burnley, they deserve to go up and have been better than us on the whole over the 2 games we played against them !

Fair play & congratulations to them on their promotion. But i too wonder if things would have been different if rosler had of come in at the start of the season rather than midway through.
Leicester and Burnley would still be going up and we might have been maybe 3rd ? Oh hang on !4th as Derby have also been brilliant since McClaren took over !

I think the Stones business might give us a clue as to RM’s intentions even that far back ! One minute he is signing for us and then at the eleventh hour he joins Everton ! just sayin !
