I’ll be in Liverpool ‘On one’ !
Disagree Tyldesley
The ball comes off the post and bounces on the line, but it then veers over the line – either because it’s spinning, by witchcraft, due to the gravitational pull of Jupiter, or whatever
Look at the slow motion version. When their lad connects with the ball, his foot either sweeps the ground or it pretty damn close to doing that and the ball is clearly over the line – nothing to do with height and perception.

As you said though, can completely understand why the officials didn’t spot it as even with slow motion people are still disputing it.
Nope – I’ll still argue that it wasn’t over the line. If you pause that footage at the exact moment that he kicks the ball, it is off the ground because you can see the shadow of the ball on the line.
Bearing in mind that the floodlights at Latics don’t come from the corners or behind the goal but from the side that gives you an indication that a) the ball is off the ground & b) that the ball isn’t completely over the lineI rest my case!! :P
No need for anyone to rest their case as the referee did that on Tuesday night! The referee’s decision is final as you know! ;)
Wigan won. Wigan 3 – Northampton 0. Jacobs; Grigg goal wasn’t off-side; Morsy ball went in.3 – 0 moral victory.
Grigg was offside and he even turned to the ‘liner’ when trotting back and smiled and winked at her as if to say ” Ya got me there! “
I am not an old tight git and have probably paid more money to Wigan Athletic than most on here!?? Plus, I am not saying that I cant afford to pay around £77 for just one 3rd level match, as I do have my own businesses, and the £77 represents around an hour and 10 mins work of net pay.
So its not that I can’t afford it, its the principle ….£77 for just one 3rd level game of football for 2 adults and a 13yo child is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE….And I will NOT be going to ANY GAMES at these prices this season. It will be the first time since 1971 that I will have not been to any games. When I 1st started watching The Latics I think it was around 10p to get in, and i used to sell programs to get free entry + a few penny’s commission.
We used to go to places like: Netherfield, Skem Utd, Matlock, Great Harwood, Ellesmere Port Town, since 1971 I have probably missed less than 20 home games in all that time before this season.
But, now I think the club is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. Less than 9,000 attended on Sat and there will be even less on Tuesday.
It’s senseless by the club, there will be around 18,000 empty seats on Tuesday, if they started charging £15 for adults and a £5 for under 18’s they may get an extra couple of thousand on.!??
I don’t care what any other clubs charge, I am not interested in any other clubs, and it doesn’t matter what the seasons tickets cost. It’s the pay on the day prices I think are an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!, and as a supporter of over 46 years i believe that i am quite entitled to my opinion without any childish jibes and cat calling thanks very much!
I reckon this lad thinks it’s an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE
I also reckon this is a wind up
And I also reckon this is Dave Garswood on account of the CAPITALISATION in his post
Dave, are you owning up to this?
Me and our Jeff were calling ‘Wind up’ Johnny as we discussed ( Not disgust ;) ) it last night on the way to the game!
My prediction is that I will spend the evening seeing which updates quickest; bbc website or the latics website commentary as I miss the mid-weekers.
And me … and I predict I’ll be frustrated because they’re both slow, and I’ll spend most of the time wishing the ‘Latics Wall’ was back, with Nick, who was quicker than any BBC or agency reporter.
You need ‘Flash Scores’ in your life! ;)
I have been watching The Latics since 1971, when Gordon Milne was manager, or it could be 1970, its a long long time ago any way.
I have had a season ticket at the JJB/DW Stadium since it opened in 1999 bar 1 season when we last went into 3rd level football, although we still went to about 10 games.
However, we didn’t renew this year because we would miss the 1st few games anyway because of holidays and other commitments already made before the seasons fixtures came out.
There are 3 of us that normally go 2 adults and our under 18 grand child. Anyway, we decided that we would go today and went online for 2 adults and 1 under 18 tickets only to be issued with a bill of £58 + a transaction fee of? ..anyway I cancelled immeadiately.
This club wanted to charge me over £60 (including the trans fee) to watch a 3rd level football match, and looking at some other games coming up they want to charge me around £77
for 3rd level football for 2 adults and a under 18 ticket. This is an absolute disgrace, and I will not be going to ANY games at all this season or any other for that matter at these prices. I am discussed with the club, I will still be supporting them but via WISH FM from now on and probably for ever. They have lost some very long term supporters here.
An absolute disgrace, hang your head in shame Wigan Athletic
Just a little pedantic point in your penultimate paragraph – your current actions lead me to consider that you won’t really “still be supporting them” will you?
You missed out “I am discussed with the club”.
He does have a point!
0-0
Was it not more like around £300?
I said ” Oh look who’s coming on, it’s ‘Pointer Power ‘ ” and the first thing he did when he came on was……Yes you guessed it, he pointed at someone/thing like Jim Bowen used to do on ‘Bulls Eye’ ! Another nickname that we have for him is ‘Min Power’ as it seems more apt!
Was that ‘The Egg’ quite literally netting himself some nice wonger today at half time?
What do want for a fiver? I was more concerned with the price of a pint, bloody ridiculous at £4.50.
I can understand those prices at corporate events were you generally get ripped off, but at a beam back with your ordinary fan, get it sorted.Getting back to the back g screens, the person at the other end needs to stop zooming in. You get to see about a 20m circle round the ball and nothing else. Please in future zoom out and let’s see the moves develop.
£4.50 a pint seems a bit exorbitant, was it premium stuff? Cheaper for a pint round The Northern Quarter
Were you able to watch the match?
Did you see what was going on?
What equipment they have is irrelevant, unless you sell projection equipment on a commission basis.I’d guess he could see the match etc but thought that with today’s technology the equipment used could have been better. There’s a thing called HD ( High Definition ) nowadays George! ;)
I wonder when he is going to start scoring again?
He should have gobbed back in her face, if it’s good enough for the goose and all that!
