There is no way we could of kept that sort of effort up over 95 minutes had we put the first team out against Bradford.
Its all good and well saying players on their wages should be able to play 2 games a week and I am sure they can… Alot better than the posters who think they could on here too.
But at Tottenham away you need to give 110% which is exactly what we did today.
Getting knocked out by Bradford is it a shambles or just one more Robert Martinez masterstroke.

Come on Salford surely even you don’t believe the rubbish you’ve just written?? Yes a fantastic result today but we threw the Bradford game to concentrate on today???
Sorry, no.
You may /may not recall Des Walker (CB, Nottm Forest). Great PL player in his prime.
So the Forest song went ‘You’ll never beat Des Walker, you’ll never ..’
Moreover, if you are going to get done for pace, then take one for the team (e.g. Ramis – 1st goal …he ain’t even quick, or smart (?) enough
to do that. Not need to apologise. As you said in your last post – freedom of speech and all that.
‘You may/may not recall Des Walker…’ funnily enough, yes I do recall him as I was in my twenties when he playing, and coincidentally I met him last summer.
Yes, Des Walker was incredibly quick for a centre half. He was pretty much an anomaly however, and played at centre half for England with Tony Adams, Terry Butcher and Mark Wright – great centre halves, but would you back any of them in a footrace again a quick lad on the wing?
So you disagree that a ‘winger’ would be expected to beat a centre half for pace every time? Seriously?
And, taking ‘one for the team’ if the man gets past you? What the f’ck are you on about? It’s 2012. You don’t scythe players down if they get past you these days. You’re likely to get either sent off or at the very least a yellow card – putting you on edge for the rest of the game.
So Standish you don’t believe that taking one for the team still goes on in modern football??? The Italians have it down to a fine art and most players will at some point bring a player down to stop a goal threat. I’m not on about a 2 footed knee high challenge, a sneaky ankle tap will do but don’t kid yourself it doesn’t go on. And I would be a lot happier with Ramis getting booked and Swansea not scoring, wouldn’t you???
Sorry Salford but after his team selection yesterday I fail to see how you can congratulate Roberto. Di Santo not playing in a team that struggles to score goals and Bob doesn’t pick a striker to replace him we get Gomez.you see thats what you get when so called fans post without knowing the full facts he was injured mate bob coundnt pick him yet you still find a lame excuse to berate rm please think before posting
Sudworth I knew Di Santo was injured, the point I was making was that if a striker does not play put another striker on in his place. That would make a lot more sense than playing an extra midfielder don’t you think???
He was crap yesterday but lets be honest he wasn’t on his own was he???

WTF :woohoo:
Can’t believe the over reaction of some of the drama queens on here! Ok we weren’t at our best today and can’t complain about the result but what short memories some have! A reasonable start to the season doesn’t turn into certain relegation in a game where we had just as many chances as they had and played more of the better football. If you expect great performances with loads of goals every week I suggest you should go and watch a different team and wake up!We have just come off some of the best form in the clubs history and so far this season have lost to The Champions of Europe and Man United. Now we lose one game and Bobbys gonna be sacked, Beausejour suddenly terrible (when he was superb at times last season and started the season injured) and the clubs on the edge of breakdown. Have these fans ever watched a team outside the top 4 before? Bunch of jessies! Suck it up! This is Wigan Ath fighting above our weight in one of the best leagues in the world. Keep the faith!
Sorry bigroy for not being over the moon when we’ve just lost to Fulham who I didn’t think played that well today. Bob keeps papping on about the improvements we’ve made in the squad then plays Ben Watson :woohoo:
It’s about football showing respect because that could have happened to any set of supporters at any given game.
Nailed-on draw in my opinion. It usually is Standish, although 3 points would be very welcome.
Yes, we get fook all
Brendan Rodgers is a fool if he let players go on hearsay that new players would be bought. We all know that the transfer window is unpredictable and IMO he should have signed up new players before selling.
I don’t think he will see Christmas at Liverpool and after signing Allen for £15mill he doesn’t deserve to be.
Since being a kid I’ve watched MOTD and I wished, hoped, dreamed that one day my team Wigan Athletic would actually be shown on the show. I’d like us to be on earlier in the programme and get more air time but I’m so proud that my little club is on at all.
A few sandwiches short of a picnic if you ask me, and it will all end in tears.
I’m not to sure Victor going to Chelski is the best for his career long term but IMO you can’t blame the lad for going. If he’d say gone to QPR then it’s all about the money at least Chelski are capable of winning things and are European Champions. How often would a young lad get that chance and if he had turned it down would he have ever got the chance again?
Good luck Victor.
Heres a few quotes off their board in regards to drawing us in the league cup…
“****ing Wigan.
What a **** draw”
“Time to beat the **** out of Ramis and Martinez.”
“Not the greatest of draws, fancied an away but will take Wigan at home and will be going to it and will be praying we dump the two bob northern ***** out the cup. ”
“Anyone who remembers the gloating at the DW last time will know we owe these ***** a shoeing”
It would seem the feeling is mutual ….
Can’t stand the bastards.
The 4-0 drubbing at their place in our first season in Division 1 when we had McCulloch and Jackson sent off whilst Thomaz Repka committed GBH on several occasions before shaking the referee’s hand on his way off.
The Brian Deane goal and following celebrations from their bench, fans and Alan Pardew. (the goal took them from 4th in the table to 4th)
The Tevez/Mascherano affair.
Their fans attitude towards the Tevez/Mascherano affair.
Their fans ideas that they have the right to be in the PL above us and the right to win trophies. It’s the academy of football and they won the World Cup you know.
Their vandolising of the North Stand two years ago after being relegated. (they ripped up seats, broke advertising boards, smashed the toilets up and flung rubbish all over the concourse)
I could go on and on
totally agree there eggie
Me to eggie, scum the lot of um
Even though the chances of us signing anyone on Transfer Deadline Day is rarer than rocking horse shoite I’m still sat here waiting
