I’m not a Gomez fan but got to say he is playing well at the moment. People expect him to play like Moses and get aggravated when he doesn’t charge forward with it, but what he is good at is keeping possesion of the football, very rarely plays a bad pass. Decent free kicks and confident pen taker. He’s never going to be biting in the tackle but the best midfields are usually made up of different types of player, so worth his place in my book.
I have to agree he rarely gives the ball away but passing sideways and back to a defender why would he????
can’t agree with that, this lad can play football and for me seems to be getting better, i’d just like him to demand the ball a little more and get a but more involvedbut it seems that most of you need somebody to hate
I don’t hate him but he is never a Premiership player and he is not getting better the team is getting worse so he doesn’t look as bad.
I think its fair to say he isnt everybodys favorite! This season he has started 9 games in which we have 12 points, we havent got a single point in any of the games he hasnt started. Coincidence or is he having a positive effect when he plays?IMO never a Premiership player as long as I’ve got a hole in my ass. Definately a coincidence.

The back 4/5 was all over the place at times !! I think Martinez has started to confuse the players as well as us fans ! Uncle Dave has accepted our fate this season as early as 9 games in and if I had known of his negativity pre season I probably wouldn’t have forked out for a season ticket because that really does change things !Come on Filmoss what else would you do on a Saturday???? Northern did you go to the game??? If so you would have seen our so called centre forward chasing around after the ball in our half. So in answer to your question it was more a 5-5-0 than a 5-4-1.

We started with Jones on the left wing, then when the game was lost the tactical genius that is our manager put Figs as an extra centre half and put Jones at left back. Neither of our managers formations came close to working, a bit of a pattern developing here me think’s.

We watched a good side today and its not a game we’ll look back on and say it cost us our place in the Prem, but with a draw and a damb good win at Sunderland we were all a little too optimistic.Our defending was aweful at times, but its been like that all year, we really do need to spend in January, a forward and 1 maybe 2 centre backs would be on my shopping list, oh and a defensive coach aswell…..and dare i say a goalie?
Ali is not having the best of it at the moment bit I defy any goalkeeper to look good playing behind that defence.

Losing to Arsenal is no disgrace they are a top side but to make it easy for them which we did is what I can’t accept.
