Hold on a second, where on earth did I put that Ramsay deserved to have his leg snapped because he was the quicker player?????
Or for that matter where I said that Ramsay had the right to “snap him” coz Ramsay was quicker???If you ban tackling unless the tackler is 100% certain that he is going to get the ball then you are going to create a very tame & tepid game. Football is & always has been a contact sport where players have to make split second decisions all the time.
Ramsay couldn’t have been 100% certain that he was going to get the ball, likewise with Shawcross.
Both players would have thought “I can get that” & gone for it. One got there fractionally before the other & there was a foul. Its what happens all over the pitch, all game but because in this instance a player broke his leg there’s all this moral hang wringing $h!te & its doing my head in. I hope Ramsay recovers & has a long career but all this “we need to stamp it out of our game” is (IMO) way off the mark.
Shawcross didn’t go in shin high, both feet off the ground, studs up but made a legitimate attempt to get the ball, the speed of Ramsay in that split second, the apparent buckling of Ramsay’s ankle before the challenge & then the challenge itself all combined in a complete freak accident to create what happenedHe is a dirty player, we already know that, a player gets to a ball and Shawcrossbreaks his leg and fakes tears… That’s what I see… Intentional (Not the leg break, but the foul was).

To the original post. I would definately be up for us all having a drink, As I would love to put my argument over about why I support Martinez (Instead of over a keyboard). I think StandishWalker summed it up more or less though, I think it is a case of being patient. I think if the man stays in charge, He WILL come good for us, and he wants to be at our club. The drink is a good idea though :D
