Mainstream…erm….Kind of like selling out, being a small band who does gigs to small audiences, then changing styles of music or something thereabouts to get famous. So really it’s just becoming famous. Vat69 doesn’t want to do that as he thinks the music business is evil :D
*Que un-interesting rant from VAT ;)
I actually don’t mind West Ham as a club. Proper ‘peoples club’, and on the few occasions I’ve had a drink with their fans, they have been sound. Most of them are proper cockneys or Essex boys as well. There was a time when they were everybody’s second favourite club, like in the 60’s.
I think what grates with people, is the apparent ‘favouritism’ that stems from the F.A. etc. Do they REALLY show favour to clubs such as West Ham who are perceived as being ‘heritage’ clubs with history? In all honesty, yes, I think they blatantly do. I also think the the BBC love them as well. It would certainly be a different Premier League if they were choosing the teams!
Was the drinks you had with them when you was doing a gig for your record label and all those 63 bands wanted you to be lead singer but you said no as you didn’t want to go mainstream? :D
LMB, if only you could realise how childish and insulting your comment about RM really is. I’m sure that I’m not the only person to think that.
I’m also sure that if Roberto met your goodself, he would treat you like a gentleman and with respect. Pity you are incapable of doing the same !!!LOL, PLOT.
Have to agree with all what you say. Think if people dont think he is up for the job then that’s their opinion and fair enough (however I think we will go far under Martinez). But to insult him, and say things that would possibly offend him is out of order, as there is no denying he loves the club and has the best intentions. Hope we do go far under the reigns of Martinez but no need for the insults.
Koumas, if you get one more chance, please please do what we know you can do, for the fans(fan) who have(has) faith (kind of) in you :D
Intriguing
[Dont sell Koumas, He is better than a lot of players we have. Sorry Griff I know you dislike him, but he has got something somewhere! Just needs to prove it.
No need to apologize. I think he too could have been a great player, it’s just that each time he gets an opportunity he acts as if he couldn’t give a toss.[/quote]
True, I just wish he’d get another chance and prove it this time, and if WBA are coming in for a loan, maybe he might think, that this may be his last shot in the prem, just know somewhere he could be a top player for us.
Also one of the guys at the side of me stood up and said ‘get off you lazy bastard’ and other things abusive aimed a Jordi Gomez, just had to say ‘that’s gunna improve his game, great’… very sarcastically to my mate. That was when I decided to stand up for most of the match every time Gomez got the ball shouting ‘Go on gomez’. He will come good! Keep the faith!
No need for the booing either. not sure how many people or what parts the booing was in but at the final whistle there were people booing (in es3 at least). Pointless.

He is a bit greedy, there were several times last night he could have played an easy first ball but decided to run at players. Is it me or is Zog the only player with a left foot who is ineffective on the left wing? Much prefer him on the right.
He can be as greedy as he wants for me… He is quality, only player (more or less) who can beat a man and has pace.
You’re all so bitter. Cats was one of the better players to wear a latics shirt and is better than anything we have in the centre now. Sunderland fans are saying they should be building the team around him. I would say yes, personally (bar injury and sending off) He is doing well.
Fair points, Jimmy.I am very pro-Martinez and pro the way he clearly wants to play. However, he doesn’t help himself sometimes, case in point being bringing on Gomez (who I am also a fan of but he who is really testing my loyalty at the moment!) in the position he did.
I actually disagree with you slightly in that I think he could have put Melchiot on that right side last night, given the game situation at the time. It was crying out for a bit of a physical presence and experience but with the best will in the world, Gomez is not going to offer that.
On Gomez and the accusations of his crab-like passing, I was interested to observe wild and hysterical booing and jeering when at one point, having been given the ball in a very tight suitiation with no-one showing for him in an advanced position, he played the ball back to Bramble to retain posession. Two minutes later, Scharner did exactly the same thing, even though there were forward options open, yet he was roundly applauded.
Now I know that Gomez has a tendancy to do this quite frequently and maybe Scharner isn’t guilty of it as often, but there seems to be a trend for people to be constantly watching and picking out every single perceived error made by Scotland and Gomez and ignoring some of those made by other players.
This particularly applies to the two extremely annoying women sat behind me who clearly have no football-related comment to make at all, save for stringing the words “Scotland”, “Gomez” and “clueless” in the same sentence. No issue with that particualrly, provided they had another record to play every now and again. That said, their presence at the stadium should really be confined to the laundry room, washing the kit. Not even worth a sh@g, either.
Agree with eveything you are saying there. Was a bloke sat behind me yesterday making constant comments regarding ‘Scocklund’ and how bad he was, and he was also pronouncing every players name incorrectly. Really doing my nut in. He also made a comment about every pass that was made etc  … N’zogbia is a different class.
wanted to pay some now and rest in installments and its a no go ,inland revenue want it all today ,what would happen if it was us or a buisness we owned ?Personally would accept the smaller payment and the payment in installments, providing there was no doubt that the money would get here, and providing my business wasn’t skint and didn’t desperately need it all on the day.
I have no idea, but I suspect they haven’t “offered” enough cash. This isn’t a haggling situation; they owe taxes which they have not paid.
Yeah was breaking news on SSN bwt 15-20 min ago, inland revenue have rejected cash offer from portsmouth. Has been adjouned til 2 :(
Scotland won 3 headers last night. :shock:Glory be!! :D
Gomez wasn’t on for a 1/3 of the time Scotland was (I think) .. so Gomez had a better header/time on the pitch ratio :D . Also Scotlands a big lad put up there to win headers :)
