I don’t know if you have noticed but RM is a creature of habit and tends to stay with more or less the same starting line up whenever possible !

Funnily enough i had hence the reason for the question. Was trying not to sound too negative about the matter so to avoid being called a moaner or even worse… A darksider

I wasn’t referring to their history more their current status in English football. They haven’t won the league in over 50yrs or the FA cup in over 20yrs so not exactly dominant.
How are you defining big club? By measuring them against us?

I’d have to say that, yes spurs are a big club. With regards to their current status in English football. Champions league football last season isn’t too bad of an achievement.

One swallow doesnt make a summer, as the saying goes.. It wasn’t too long ago they were fighting relegation with us.
I think working working with two Spurs fans may have biased my opinion of them? :P

Thought Watson was excellent today, far and away our best player … first real misplaced pass of any consequence…84th min. Even got the set pieces right today. Stood and applauded him off goodpost

Cedit where its due, he did ok today. Watson had two pretty good efforts on goal as well.
Plenty of good footy played today but lacked killer instinct up front. didnt really test their keeper.

They are an extremely big club mate just look at their history in comparison with ours we will never ever achieve what they have

Follow the thread from start to finish takes about 20/30 mins but worth the read.
I can see the similarity to certain posters on here, all rosy in the garden prior to 3pm then, booooosh.

The amount of times posters refer to us as “WIGAN!” as if we are a team from the Blue Square league.

                http://www.tottenhamhotspurs.tv/forum/match-day-chat/30204-tottenham-hotspur-vs-wigan-athletic-nov-3-2012-a.html

Do we really have fans as bad as SPURS!!
Over the years i’ve come to the conclusion that Spurs fans are the biggest moaners in England. They never stop harpin on and can even find fault with their team when they win. A lot of them posts say it all.. They think they are a big club but actually, are not

Tough one, I’d stump for Boyce as he gives 100% all the time.
Other than Boyce, maybe Roberts for our first every prem goal…

Going off your comment re players not good enough should be moving on, who do you think should be moving on ? This question is for anybody who might be reading this. I will start the ball rolling with Watson who in my opinion is not good enough for Prem football !

I’m not a lover of slagging any latics players. But i have to agree with filmoss that Watson is shocking. He can’t take corners, free kicks or going off last nights game even pass a ball.
What’s the point of having a calm looking bloke on the pitch who keeps giving the ball away?

I for one think the club have made progress but mainly behind the scenes. We had to get our house in order as the debt we had / have is eye watering…
I’d guess most Wigan fans want Bob to do well, and he could if he was a tad more positive. Even with the bargain basement buys he’s made they can play some good stuff. If he sticks with a 4-4-3 formation and plays to our strengths then we’ll comfortably be a mid table side.
So the potential is there, it’s just down to Bob to make it happen

                        Not for the display tonight.
                        Not for the result tonight.
                        Not for the tactics tonight.
Not for getting beat by a lower league team.
Simply for treating the fans and supporters of Wigan Athletic with contempt.
Three and a bit seasons of garbage and this year a chance of something to smile about and Bob puts out a team like that tonight.
With luck we may stay in this shoite league for another year but what a great chance thrown away by Clown Bob.
There are only 38 games in the Greed League. Is it too much these days to play the best team and give the fans sonething to cheer about for a change.
Anyone remember our club playing in The Northern Premier League? That meant so much for us fans to see us win it. Just as much as playing in the Greed League yet the team competed in the Lancs Junior Cup, Lancs Senior Cup,Premier League Cup, Ashworth Trophy,FA Trophy, FA Cup, North West Floodlight League and Floodlight League Cup plus more pre and post season friendlies and benefit matches.
On most occasions it was allways the strongest possible team.
You do what you feel is your best Bob but we need smiles again now lad.

I can understand your frustration, and the berating you get from the usual crew for expressing this does not surprise me..

You look at the two previous matches in this cup and Bob put out five first teamers with a further two on the subs bench. He had two first teamers out last night with three on the bench, why, when we had a great chance of going through to the next round. That team selection was poor, very poor! and it showed as they couldn’t break down a league two side, they were bereft of ideas. i think we had one shot on goal in that first half?

I for one love a good cup run, Cardiff in 2006 was a great day out and will live long in the memory. I aint so sure Bob is going to give us any good memories! Hope i’m wrong…

The Bantams must be sensing a shock result for this game, over 4,000 now. looks like they will sell their full allocation, good on them.

Eufa / platini are a joke and i dont expect much of a punishment to be dished out to Serbia. He is more bothered about keeping these countries on his side so when Blatter does step aside he has plenty of friends to vote him in…
Look at the punishment they gave Lazio, 32k fine!! nothing to a football club let alone a national team..

One might even argue that the FA aren’t much better dishing out a 4 game ban to Terry re. the Ferdinand / Terry incident (Gomez got 3 at Sunderland (rescinded) for doing nowt ! – where’s the sense in that ??

The MIGHTY sir AF now wants to take Jason Roberts to task for his refusal to wear ‘ Kick It out (racism)’ shirt this weekend given his lack of conviction that enough is being done by the Powers that be ..

                                Quote, unquote …

“All the players are wearing it. I have only heard that Jason Roberts is different. But he is very different: he plays a game and is in the studio 20 minutes after it. That is a great privilege.”

This wouldn’t be Alex, the one who chooses which post-match interviews he wishes to attend (BBC/No BBC), which questions are up for discussion, would it. SPECIAL and PRIVILEGED indeed. A*** more like !!

                                Good on yer Jason !![/quote]

I agree with the FA thing, bit up en down for me as they seemed to come down heavy on Suarez but not as heavy on Terry?

As for the kick it out scandal, there could be a bit of reverse psychology going on here. Robert’s decision to not wear that T-shirt has definitely raised the campaigns profile
