Totally agree dnr. Personally, I do prefer the minutes silence though.
He did indeed have a good game and I’m glad they have stopped that booing Malarkey..
Byrne was MOM for me, thought he was great today. Southend didn’t give him much to do defensively which allowed Byrne to get forward.
Was surprised to hear this, but we all deserve a second chance. Let’s see if he’s there long term..
Ali Mcoist summed it up on talk sport doesn’t matter who is manager it’s the pot of players they have to choose from that’s the problem. It’s a small crappy one
I find it quite odd that there is no mention of Ian’s passing on the official Wigan Athletic website? Both Chelsea and Ross County have paid tribute to Ian on their respective websites but nothing from Wigan! I hope he is going to be acknowledged this Saturday! Not sure if you’ve seen it but something on the club website now filmoss.
“Latics will hold a minute’s applause ahead of Saturday’s match with Southend United ”

Interesting story Egg. So most of the Championship clubs are in debt..
Said for a long time that the Prem is a poisoned chalice. Their big wages seems to be creeping into the lower leagues.
Looks like a PEBKAC issueProper comedian you Garswood…
Eygpt are there so all being well we’ll be watching Sam morsy play. If Northern Ireland qualify maybe we’ll be watching Grigg too.Shame Wales won’t be there
NOT…. Was in Cardiff on Friday night and plenty of Welsh fans singing “Englands full of sh**”.. after their lucky win against Georgia.
That was what I wrote and was there when I clicked submit.
CL, how has the last part of this post gone missing?
I did see this one dnr and smile, he always carried extra wood did Kelly.
Kelly was good and could pick a pass. I’ve often compared him to modern day footballers in that now its all about running for 90mins. Kelly had some quality into his game, more than some of these modern day footballers do.Very well done to the lads today. Good away win that and with Shrewsbury dropping points too
Sad news indeed.
Wasn’t watching when Ian was around unfortunately. Sure the club will recognize his fantastic efforts for us. RIP to the man who brought us league football.
His birth year is apt really.I do wonder actually why we need an offside law at all.
It was originally introduced to prevent goal-hanging (remember back to schoold days – the most hated kid would always goal hang, tap in, and claim credit).
But in the modern game a goal hanger is way, way out of influencing the game, and so most offside calls are a fine judgement of a yard or so this way or that. What does it matter?
Get rid of it.I’ve often thought about no offside up to the 18yard. It would certainly stretch the players and create more space in the middle.
Burton fans giving them plenty of stick on their forum. Not looking good for the Brewers this time.Think both under performed for us. Just a plain old left back might have suited Warnock better. Dan burn much better than Buxton so good move by the club in getting rid.
Wembley for qualifiers.Round the country for friendlies.
I think some of the qualifiers should be around the country egg.
But saying that not sure I’d pay to watch that rubbish. Wet lettuce of a manager mixed with over rated passionless pre Madonna’s….
Not an imaginative footballer or leader in that squad. If it’s not broke don’t try and fix it.Video refs to get decisions correct for referees who aren’t sure or who couldn’t see is all it needs.
Couldn’t agree more 78. They’ve already started ruining it with the off side rule..
Some good suggestions already mentioned, get rid of the cheating as well. definitely bonus points for goals scored. That could make it more entertaining for the supporter.
Fundamentals of the game should stay the same.
