First 30mins were not too bad, we broke quickly enough on occasions. Some of our approach play was good. Problem was no outlet up front again! Can’t recall their keeper making a save in the first half. Got worse in the second half, the team really didn’t know what to do up front. Going Two up front made a slight difference, them going to ten men made a big difference.
Our biggest problem is Caldwell, his tactics and formations are too cautious and we won’t reach the play offs with him let alone top two!Why shouldn’t it be, or is there something else going on?
Out of curiosity what qualifications / work experience did she have to get that job…?
We are in the East Stand the one that just has BFC in the seats. In past years this was the home end. On some photos its called the Cemetery End. The one that used to house the away support was the Manchester Road End, that is the one with the pillars.

Cheers JR, we were behind the other goal last time I went to Bury.
It’s good that they have given us the East Stand, no stupid pillars to dodge. :cheer:Last time I went to Bury we were behind the goal, Is that the East?
It is difficult to feel sorry for prem football manager these days, especially as you say they get paid so handsomely. He knew what he was walking into as well.
So I fully expect him to be on a beach soon sunning himself. Until he gets bored and then gets another job..
He has spent a small fortune
He didn’t though really did he? From what I’ve heard of this transfer committee, the manager’s involvement is quite limited & (as far as I’m aware) this structure was the reason that Bobby didn’t take the job – Both said they wouldn’t work under their original proposed structure, they came back with an amended one, Bobby still said no but Brendan said that he’d work with it.
Part of the problem however appears to be that the owners still don’t see any issue with what they’ve put in place & who it has brought in (even though some of the players are cack) but feel that a different manager could get better out of the same players. That may well be true to some extent but they also need to look at themselves coz most Liverpool fans will tell you that even leaving some of Rodgers errors to one side many of the players the structure has brought in just aren’t good enough
Yes I’ve heard all that talk too, but i’m sure I seem to recall Rogers saying in his early days that HE brought players in? Then about 12months ago he started saying WE (the committee) chose players?? Make up your own mind, but i’m pretty sure he would have had a say in it. Some clubs can over complicate a simple process..
His best season was with the team Dalglish’s left him. From what I’ve seen of them this season they could well finish below Chelsea :)Liverpool were not playing good football at all. He has spent a small fortune and didn’t seem to know his best side / formation?
Klopp seems to be fans favourite to replace him. That was a poor sending off, Barnett should have done much better.
Their second goal should never have stood as their mon was all over Barnett. If we start the games with an attacking mentality & cut out these stupid mistakes this league should not be a problem….
Don’t you think these modern day footballers are over analysed?
Ice baths, super fit athletes, warm ups, warm downs…. but yet more than ever (so it seems) they seem to get injuries?
Too much lean & not enough fat
And yet most coaches/managers seem to let it pass them by that some players can’t pass a ball 5 yards to a player in the same coloured shirt.
Now that is very true….. Having oodles of speed seems to make up for lack of talent these days.
Progression well and trully shown. Lesson learned though for Gary. Don’t change a winning formation. Don’t revert back to a negative boring one up front. Go to win and play attacking football. Thank goodness Gary is learning though unlike his predecessors. He saw his mistake today and did the right thing and he pulled off an incredible comeback. Who knows we might change this slow build up from the back tactic next. Well done GC and Latics today
Start with two up top at Vale now please.Away from home I think we should start with 1 up top. The idea is to frustrate the opposition, silence the crowd and dictate the game. Then we can make the changes to win the game. Sides have to be flexible these days and not just 442 or whatever. Now that was a problem with some of the predecessors.
If there was ever a game to prove the one up front theory wrong this was it. We just don’t get forward quick enough with the 1 up front format. You’ve got to take the game to the opposition home or away and if you do then you’ve more chance of winning.

Could be McCann, if it is I hope he plays better than he did at Gillingham..
Just reading some Chesterfield forum and they too have defensive issue’s. If we start the game with a high tempo and get forward quickly who knows?
Difficult to predict Wigan at the moment. Won’t be easy this one purely down to us having a totally new team.
They have won one & drawn one at home so if we get a draw that will be ok.
A win would be great though..What a good little sports quiz that is… Same score as you.
