Headless chicken was what the landlord of my local called him, he’s a Blackpool fan by the way! Said he will run all day long but when he does get the ball he will invariably give it away! God loves a trier though eh!
He doesn’t move fast enough to be classed as a chicken..
Espinoza was a headless chicken, this fella isn’t in the same bracket as him. As someone else posted, he always wants the ball, doesn’t shy away from wanting it so is more noticeable through the game. First game I’ve seen him so should have a better idea after half a dozen.
You’ve watched his worst game for us by all accounts.Man of the Match in his first two games, and played well last Wednesday.
Didn’t see them so can’t comment. But he’s a busy player so suspect he’ll get a few more MOM’s as we go on.
Could it be that he has played three games in six days and for a 30 odd year old that would be hard work especially in 30 degree’s heat
cue he get’s paid enough to do it
You got your blue blinkers on again…
Clue was in my post – “First game I’ve seen him”
So 30 degs heat makes you deliver missed placed passes does it? I’d have thought he’d have run out of energy in that sort of heat rather than miscue passes?!?!
1 It was an opinion I should of said the blue blinkers because anybody who has an different opinion to the experts is accused of being blinkered (rolly eyes emotion )
2 it wasn’t aimed at you
3 30 degree’s heat may get you feeling a bit tired after three games
4 You’re dummy is still on the floor
:) There was defo no dummy spat out 35.. And your post was straight after mine so looked like it was aimed at me.
I actually didn’t mind him and have said as much. Just pointing out what I saw, both good and bad but as you say, you can’t have an opinion on here without some folk jumping straight on ya..yea play two or three up front that’ll get ya goals so the experts say :dry:Either that or play a pacey game where on an attacking moment the 5 midfielders (preferred choice of the other experts) get forward to support the loan striker. This would give the opposing defence problems, and maybe result in more than one shot on target. Or even, a goal?

He did nothing today, in fact he looked like a kid playing with grown ups. GC took him off at half time.
But the Gillingham fan I was with rated him, what do I know ah..He apparently picked up a knock after 30 mins and GC didn’t want to aggravate it, so replaced him at half time. You’ve put 2 and 2 together and got 5. :S
Don’t think so JR, he did nawt in that first 30mins then. He didn’t look injured to me, just lost in the middle of the park.

Could our manager be a better coach than some are giving him credit for? :huh:The comparison of Perkins to Cattermole and Brown ends at the graft bit. I can’t see DP missing a third of the season through suspensions. :woohoo:
First 15mins against Gillingham I thought Perkins was great. Always wanted the ball and looking to pass forward. But as the game went on you couldn’t help but notice the amount of misplaced passes he was making. My two lads didn’t rate him?
I personally would have him in the side as he has loads of energy & fight which is what we need.Surprising what a centre forward can do when he gets the service. Maybe Wigan need to have a re-think on their attacking play.
289 really, three of us in the home end.. :)
We could have played all day and still not have scored today. First game I’ve seen so will give the benefit of doubt as a new team trying to gel?
Think we only had one shot on target today which brought a good save by their keeper.
McCann didn’t have his best game, his lazy clearance caused their first goal and he lost the ball again in the second half but they hit the post that time!
Davies did ok but we need better service to the front men.
Gillingham weren’t brilliant, in fact not much better than us. Difference was they got forward quicker and pressed us which lead to both their goals.
Get used to it Eddie…
I was at game and though football was good we lacked creativity, cutting edge and didn’t have a shot on target did we? Forwards on show looked poor. 3-0 was undoubtedly harsh but unfortunately you don’t win games on posession percentages!Didn’t go the game but what was GC formation for this one?
Sounds very much like last season, can’t see how some bookies have us as second favourites to go up this season.
And folk on here like to quote our previous managers as good back up for not giving the likes of these 2 a good chance in the team.
Quality were desperate for, gone and succeeding elsewhere. We’ve been clueless at this club for some time now when it comes to giving the right players a chance.
It’s a case of where would we be now if everyone listened to me
I do reckon you would have signed a defender when we needed them.such as a Certain John Stones,A bargin for 3 mil. When Everton may draw very good money for him.If only we had payed the asking price of Barnsley. ;)
Martinez knew where he himself would be come the end of that season and so with hindsight it is no surprise that Stones swerved coming to Wigan and went to Everton! He didn’t play at all until the following August when Martinez was manager, you do the math! :)
Dead right Filmos, Bob got one over big Dave there big time….
Sheffield Utd at home on Boxing Day should be okay attendance wise. That’s the first tasty fixture I thought :(
