Bolton
Not since Damian Francis anyway – He was the original invisible man.
Garner is also not good enough. Apart from trying to elbow and kick everyone, football wise he also contributed bugger all. He did win the free kick for James’ goal I suppose. :)
I agree the squad is brittle and we are going to struggle to score goals until Powell comes back to provide some creativity.
We could have scraped a draw today if Walton hadn’t cocked up. Leeds didn’t look that great, we however looked clueless and it was compounded by Morsey getting himself suspended for next week.
Not good is it ? :(
Morsy is the most overated midfielder we have had for a long time, he won’t be missed. He turns slower than the QE2, hardly ever plays a positive pass. Gibson was far better than him today and Evans will come in, who is far more creative.
Morsey is pretty decent in my opinion. He gets no support in that midfield you look at what’s around him and he’s the only tackler, he can’t do it all on his own and if nobody makes a run forward he can’t make the pass.
As frustrating as our play is at the moment we have a lot of injuries so when they return the likes of Naismith Garner & Gibson shouldn’t get anywhere near the starting 11.
As bad as we were today & how good Leeds looked they only beat us with a howler from Walton & Kipre.
Burn made a difference to our defence today, two centre backs looked steadier with him at their side. More performances like that and Robinson will struggle to get his place back.
It takes time to settle in and if josh is played in a more attacking role which he prefers then he will make it.
He’s not had too many stand out moments but he will in the future I’m sure.Cook has already succeeded imo nl and think there’s more to come.
Imagine where we could end up once he sorts the away form out… :)When I heard the team news thought cooky had gone 3 central defenders. How good was burn at left back, made up for last week.
Terrific performance and defended from the front. Windass took his goal well. Mom was Roberts for me just for his 100% effort if nothing else.As for fan melt down moment, wba fans moaning like mad walking back.. Funny as. There was a reason they were poor today and it was the Wigan performance, brilliant.
Fickle lot us footy fans ah.Something needs to change in defence so might be worth a go. We’re getting worse the more games we play.
I didn’t do a background on him Standish and took a flyer with my comment.
Kids generally tend to sway the way of their parents so fair play to him. Hope he’s good enough.Whoa back jimmy lad lol my dad was dropped on his head at some point whilst young coz he was a nut hugger lol. Me and him couldn’t have been more different if we tried. He never went to a football game in his life and I would rather poke cocktail sticks in my eyeballs than watch any kind of egg cloddin. I’m sure glad I didn’t sway the way of my old Mon. Look at what I would have missed out on if I had not been a tic. COYL
There are certainley some exciting young prospects coming through, I just hope we start to give these youngsters a chance.
Hopefully with the promised investment in youth from the new owners more rising young stars will make it through to the first team.
Geldhart is still young so can understand why we’ve not seen him in the league yet. Hoping he gets a chance this season though horc.
That is not good news. Hope Vaughan is fit?

His second name is certainly Scottish. Maybe his mum has won him over
We said about Massey being missed at the weekend. He was in great form.
I’ve always preferred him over Jacobs. Massey, even when having a bad game doesn’t go missing where as Jacobs can.May simply be the best team we’ve played all season and taking out Powell was a planned strategy.
Remember they just missed out on the play offs last season.
To beat them irrespective of their lowly position we needed to push them back and push their defence that had been wobbly up to now.
Without players good enough on the day(which has been showing for weeks)and out of position we were unable to do that.
Swapping to three at the back and changing shape after Powells injury just played into Preston’s hands. We may have stood a chance without bringing Burn on and simply brought on Macca to attack from the right and move Windass to Powell’s position.
Whatever a crazy day and let’s hope we have learned from it.Donny I genuinely didn’t fancy us to get anything at Preston. I knew it would be tough especially with our away form so taking nothing away from pne.
Next game isn’t going to be easy, West brom score for fun.. -
