Oh dear been drinking again had we Micky?

Perhaps you might like to tell me exactly what was so wrong with it (in Plain English) instead of that pile of gibberish that you have just spewed out?

I wrote it under duress as it happens after quite a few people asked me to as they thought I might be able to articulate the situation facing many Wigan Athletic fans who travel away from home. Not just at Bolton but Newcastle, Sunderland, West Brom and Villa alone this season.

I’ve had several phone calls off long standing fans who are threatening not to go any more because of the club’s reaction to events. One lad who is as diehard as they come and a mate of JPH brings coachloads of kids to home games from Aspull has had his 16 year old son and his 15 year old nephew chucked out and arrested for nothing other than singing/standing up. These are real people Micky, not cyber warriors in Micky’s world.

I put my heart and soul into Wigan Athletic supporting the club and supporting the fans, a little less so these days as I have a family. Somebody needs to stick up for the fans in these situations and I don’t see anyone else doing it (no offence meant, just a fact) As you can see from the comments, many more fans have given their own view of events comdemning the behaviour of the stewards including several Bolton fans. I suppose they’re all ******* ****** in Micky’s world too are they? I’ve had many emails/comments/tweets/texts/phone calls since it was published thanking me for doing so almost 100% in agreement with the article which leads me to believe the only problem that you really have with the article is with the person who wrote it.

Are you saying it is right for a girl to be thrown out of a ground leaving her 13 year old brother behind?
Is it right for stewards to physically assault a man wearing a neck brace?
Is is right that a man can get thrown out of a football ground because he’s stood in the aisle because someone else is sat in his seat?

This is nothing to do with an idiot throwing a flare, these are real Wigan Athletic fans Micky in the real world and I’m simply telling their side of the story.

So we can only conclude that Micky had a bit too much sherry last night and decided to launch a personal attack on me. I merely wrote up the views of many so are they all ******* ****** like me then? These are people who have supported the club for decades, you’re in danger of offending a lot of people here. I can appreciate not everyone likes me on here but I know a lot more people than you do after putting my heart and soul into running Cockney Latic for many years. You just a bad keyboard warriors with hatred and envy stamped all over your late night tirades. Please don’t slag me off without having the balls to explain what has caused you so much offence.

Rivals was bought by teamtalk, SKY bought teamtalk, we resigned from SKY just before SKY shut it all down anyway and tried to get it all running off the back of teamtalk. I assume they failed in that effort as most of the old rivals lot went independent again or give it up.

I suppose it was like CL and vital not being invited when TNS set up. I know that sounds argumentitive but it is not intended to be, you had your reasons.

OK fair enough, but if there was never a problem being a part of the Rivals network for years until it got bought out then it seems a little harsh (in my opinion) criticising someone running a site on the Vital network?

As for your second point, I think I made my position clear in response to trulatic4eva namely

Even though the site I am involved with didn’t receive an invite, I think it’s a great idea in principle, Sunderland have a similar set up and it would only make our fan base stronger. Not with standing all the disputes and bickering of course

However, there are clearly technical problems involved with merging different forums as those part of networks have to retain the ‘house style. The only other thing we agreed when we merged our own three indepndent sites was not to accept commercial advertising, which again would make merging this site and others difficult. But it was by no means a closed shop and still isn’t. aAs I said I think it’s a great idea in principle

I know ‘Worbo’ very well, but we left rivals to get our ‘independence’. We won’t be going back to to that sort of regime.

Jay, I thought Rivals went bust and the old site disappeared with it i.e. it was not your choice to leave?

Trulatic4eva – Even though the site I am involved with didn’t receive an invite, I think it’s a great idea in principle, Sunderland have a similar set up and it would only make our fan base stronger. Not with standing all the disputes and bickering of course

I would say the restrictions are more of a technical nature

i have niether the time or inclination to bother looking back through months of posts to see what my actual wording was – i have my position and which i stand by for reasons given earlier although you claim i said things about you that were lies i also disagree i did this, you say i have slandered you again i disagree with this as i have never held any conversation with anyone on this subject – as i have typed the words on an open forum that could be construed as libel again i would deny this accusation, but i suggest if you feel so strongly about it persue a course of action as you see fit,
certain things have overtaken my outlook on the trival nature of cyber world this week – something that really matters, and i will not respond any more in the childish debate this has become, and i have more than dished out my fair share of that childish crap,by all means accuse me of running scared or not being able to respond because i am wrong, that again is your choice, my presence on here for the last couple of days has been a restbite or perhaps even an escape from what i said before, reality.

perhaps somone else may explain.

Fair enough pal, football is only a game and as I’ve always said, I consider anyone who watches Latics to be my friend and would always rather make a friend than an enemy. Whatever is going on away from here, it’s not my business but personally and through the wider Latics family I have been involved with many situations which have been much more important than a bit of website bickering so whatever the problem is, I wish you all the best and hope all gets resolved well.

I consider myself a decent human being and don’t wish to cause you any upset, all I have sought to do is get an apology out of you for the comments you made about me on here which could cause offence to me and my own family as they patently weren’t true. I always believe that when someone’s in the wrong they should apologise, it’s certainly something I would do. I’m not that stubborn and life’s too short.

But never mind, I’ve made my point and proved it several times. Apologies from me if my pulling you up on it again has caused any distress to you, some things in life are more important mate

No reply AND no apology from loudmouth and seemingly acceptance of every point I made

BTW be careful if you’re travelling with loudmouth on Sunday as UNLESS HE’S A COMPLETE HYPOCRITE he feels strongly enough to quote sections of the Criminal Justice act to people who may or may not engage in an alcoholic beverage on a coach :D

then tell me also, the reason that the ‘private coaches’ that you traveled to away games on where you “forged long standing friendships” were not organised and became popular because they blatently flouted section 1 of the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol), Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 were again being carried out unbeknown to the editorial staff of your publication.

Wow nice reinvention if history. Just for good measure, I have bumped up a thread which you challenged me on numerous things and then chose to ignore for several months when I subsequently proved you wrong.

There’s no need to talk in riddles, everyone saw what you wrote about me, and your pathetic subsequent attempts to wriggle out of it

I don’t hide from anyone, I read the board regularly, I felt what you were saying about me deserved a response – what am I supposed to do when someone is slandering me without justification on a public website

You lied about me, called me a hooligan and then refused to apologise despite numerous people putting you straight on here.

People have read that and gone up to members of my family and said ‘who was that lad who called Jimmy a hooligan on a website’ it’s a pretty despicable thing to do and you were rightly condemned at the time, it wasn’t nice for me or for my family and it could have been not very nice for my job – and you say I’m the liar :?

As you’re now calling me a liar then please show me where I’ve lied? Even if I have by default published something in a magazine which might not have been truthful and in your attempts to weasel your way out of what you called me, you are trying to associate this with me, I would still say it is better than launching a personal attack at someone’s character, which you still haven’t managed either to justify or apologise for six months on

im so glad about that griff, you will be able to lead the singing at its premier on “gekkos magical mystery tour” on sunday –
make sure you sit near jimmy at the front, you can hand out the song sheets for him, and for christs sake get hold of that microphone before champagne charlie (the ginger one) or you’re in for one hell of a long trip.

A while since I did one of Gekko’s trips and looking forward to it but are you on about the “oooutrageous” baesball cap ginger or the ‘bolshy’ ex-taxi mon ginger? Or neither? Either way, unless someone has a copy of The Snake or Paddy McGinty’s Goat, I won’t be singing.

…one last thing, get your missus to make you some extra butties as well coz he’ll eat all yours if you dont.

My wife’s charabanc trip chinese chicken butties are legendary, but are never shared out beyond the V100s
I hope that nobody is planning to be drinking on this bus Griff, loudmouth clearly disapproves of this as he accused me and others a while back of running coaches which may or may not have contained people who were indulging in the quaffing of alcoholic beverages. Loudmouth was particularly keen to point out that this was in contravention of a particular public order act and even quoted sections of that specific act verbatim purely for my benefit.

Considering he feels so morally vehement about this I should imagine that even the slightest whiff of Shandy Bass on your coach and he will be on the phone to the relevant authorities. Unless he’s a complete hypocrite of course and was trying (and failing) to engage in some kind of point scoring exercise :?

Thanks for the namecheck Loudmouth, seeing as you’ve remembered my name perhaps you might like to apologise for the pack of lies you told about me (for the second time) a few months back and when challenged went missing again even when loads of people pointed out that you were lying about me

It’s not about Roberto Martinez, or me or you or anyone else it’s about supporting this football club through the last two games and wanting us to win

Personally like many other fans whom you accuse of being blinkered for the heinous crime of backing the manager I’ll be cheering on the team and if the worst happens I am sure many of us will be devastated if things don’t go our way.

I’d love to wish you a good day but your idea of a good day will involve you grinning like a Cheshire cat at full time and racing home to gloat on here and giving it your told you so routine that has been strangely absent for weeks at a time since January

If you believe that your attitude of revelling in our demise and starting your sneery threads against the manager just for personal point scoring while spending the last 2 years steadfastly refusing to acknowledge a single positive thing that the manager has helped happen is the right one, then to be quite honest I’d rather be wrong

I write it as I see it pal and will gladly admit when I’m wrong or apologise, give credit or criticism when due and be as honest as I can. I’m probably not a better Latics fan than you but I’m sure as hell the better man as I don’t go around making up lies about people

the reason i took umbridge to you and your board was an article YOU did having a dig at latics fans for moaning or not turning up –then linked them same fans to fc united fans (who for some reason you and your magazine seem to worship, or at the least have very close links with), when those same fans have done the same, deserting their club, the very same thing you accused some of our fans of doing, perhaps they had different reasons but its still the same, but i am not a closet mufc fan so i dont hold back when it comes to anything about them, i dont hate anything in this life with the exception of all things mufc – fc united or any of their plastic fans.

WRONG

Here’s the article again http://www.mudhutter.co.uk/news.php?extend.92

Please show me where I have linked “them”? I haven’t even mentioned FC United in the piece – yet again you’ve been shown up as a liar and taken “umbridge” to something which wasn’t there.

this proof of me being a liar stuff was based on a couple of things -i said i was not being lectured to by,and gave you 3 options to choose from chav/stone island wearing/hooligan, the latter being the only statement you took exception to – i pointed out to you that the magazine you edit still had people eulogizing about such past events (your response was a disclaimer spin) to my knowledge no-one on the top floor of CL headquarters take this line any more and if they did i would sound off at them as well.
if that makes me a liar so be it, but i would have not made any comment in the first place about mudhutter if you had not written your inaccurate, condescending rant about latics fans who dont quite come up to your rather eletist standards.

WRONG

The latest Mudhutter has articles from two new contributors, one a 19 year old girl from Bury and the other a young man from Kazazhstan. I’ve never met either. Does this sound “eletist” to you? Or are they just people who took the opportunity to give their point of view for a fanzine which continually states that it is open to everybody and proves it by including new contributors more or less every single issue.

I really don’t know what your grudge is, you seem to be cherry picking a handful of things that may have been written by me or any number of other people over the years a few pages amongst hundreds and were probably no different from many things written in the old Cockney Latic fanzine, in many cases by the person without whom the Cockney Latic website and fanzine would not even exist. Believe me, he, like many others, is laughing at your pathetic continual attempts to discredit me with lies, you’re becoming quite the topic of conversation. It’s clearly becoming an obsession for you but give it up – you’re chasing your tail and have now been shown up more times than I care to remember

But go on then, let’s have just one more….

in theory for all the reasons you have said, in reality it has become a fashion statement, they are typical man utd fans proud of the fact they are bigger and better than anyone else, they want to out muscle and out spend the non league scene in pursuit of total domination just as their parent club has always sought to do on the national/world stage,in essence bullies who neither care for nor respect any club outside their insular world

VERY, VERY WRONG. YOU COULDN’T BE MORE WRONG IF YOU TRIED

Unless you are seriously trying to tell me that a club run on socialist principles, with a one member, one vote policy, where the fans determine the ticket prices and the frequency which the shirt is changed and is run entirely by volunteers who put hundreds of hours of their own free time in every week not just to run the club but carry out endless work in the community with disadvantaged people from all walks of life is in fact nothing more than a “fashion statement” made by “bullies” seeking “world domination”

I suggest you have a read of the following:

Not to mention the 5,000 seater community stadium (sounds really world dominating that…..) they are building with support from the Council with a view to regenerating a deprived area of East Manchester which will be open to and benefit the area as a whole

Listen loudmouth, I’d always rather make a friend than an enemy. Unfortunately it was you who chose to slag me off and I felt the need to put you straight.

I’ve now done this more times than I really should waste my efforts on by now and in your attempts to make a fool out of me, you are only succeeding in making a fool out of yourself. Give it up and move on.

Ooh a debate on ownership of football clubs and their finances, I’m in mr loudmouth!!

First of all, you appear to be confused? Are you comparing Wigan Athletic with FC United? Or as it would appear more logical are you are comparing Wigan Athletic with Manchester United? Do you have even the faintest idea why FC United were formed?

Let’s concentrate on the four key football finance areas of ownership debt, operating profits/losses, servicing interest payments & ticket pricing

Wigan Athletic is backed by one man whom without him we would be at best playing three or four levels below where we are. He has not got the club into debt – he IS the debt covering the £55m losses with a £40m interest free loan and a £15m bank overdraft secured on his personal land and assets.

Manchester United have been purchased by nearly £650m of leveraged buyout funds (that’s someone else’s money in layman’s terms) by a bunch of American sharks who draw up to £30m per annum out of the football club in personal funds and have laden the club with £60m of debt interest charges per annum meaning that the likelihood of them making any profit at EBITDA level is nigh impossible.

The average season ticket price at Old Trafford has increased from £487 in May 2005 to £722 this year, the season tickets in this time at Wigan have increased from £250 to £250, just over half the price that United tickets were five years ago.

Club saddled with expensive debt while the owners take millions out in drawings and even more debts to service the large interest payments running at 14% of turnover and eating away at profits and expensive ticket prices = unhappy fans

Interest free loans from owners without which club would be insolvent, covering accumulated losses out of owners own pocket and cheap ticket prices (should) = happy fans

I don’t see how Wigan Athletic fans have anything to protest about, save for your daily repetitive diatribe against the manager.

So the situation at Wigan Athletic is nothing like the situation at Manchester United, hope this clears up any confusion.

PS you may have seen this on here before, I find it easier to copy and paste stuff you’ve previously ignored when you’re dodging the question/changing the subject

However, it’s a crying shame that reference to another board brought out comments from the sentinal………..shame really (me thinks there is a self esteem thing going on here).

And it’s funny how my re-appearance suddenly brings out your re-appearance. ;)

What can I say Micky, I’m a busy man. I defend my corner though, and believe me I spent many years defending many corners with regards to the Cockney Latic over the years. In print, online or in a social setting, either in the pub, arranging charity events and spending eight hours on a Saturday morning counting, delivering and selling fanzines on a usually freezing bridge. Where were you then Micky, oh staunch defender of the Cockney Latic?

I have no self esteem issues, I know I’ve put in a decent shift over the years sacrificing hundreds of hours doing something I enjoy and laying a lot of the foundations for making this great site what it is today. No need to thank me though, I know my 2010 contribution was non existent.

But Kudos to your post, you might call it an exercise in self congratulatory back slapping (as indeed you did when similar stuff appeared on MHM a couple of years ago), but it is in essence a nice bit of recognition for contributors to a particular section of the WAFC online community, or in simpler terms ‘a bit of fun’. No hierarchies, no conspiracies, no talk of generals or foot soldiers, just a bit of fun.

There was a lot more of those sort of tales in the Cockney Latic fanzine, I should know I edited 46 of them.

You seem to be criticising one website for posting a certain type of article (in the past) yet you have no problem posting on another website whose fanzine has published exactly the same articles (in the past), very often by the same people.

If you had complained vociferously at the time when I was editor of the CL about these articles, I would have gladly addressed your concerns.

There is no issue with anyone contributing to Mudhutter. The only criteria is that you must know your onions. People who spend all day moaning that the onion in front of you is making you cry whilst continually stating that you don’t like onions in the same repetitive manner will be given short shrift. ;)

Well I am a university educated, elitist, real ale drinking hooligan you know :?
