A sulky faced Thomas Rogne passed us as we were walking behind the north stand about 2pm. He had his shower bag in his hand and headed up towards the soccer-dome. :woohoo:

I heard that he has said that he wants to leave. Coyle to his credit has apparently stated that if his desire to play for Wigan isn’t there then he won’t play him.
Not sure if this is true, but if it is, we should get shut asap. Well done OC.

What’s OC’s excuse for not playing Espinoza then?

He got 9 mins last night and has to try and make a mark.
He’s another one who isn’t as good as everyone seems to think he is. Like McManaman, it seems that all you have to do to become a Latics Legend is string together three half-decent performances on the bounce.

Decent player Espinoza, that’s all.
Even so a I would settle for a decent player at the moment.
I remember seeing the highlights of the game he played for Honduras against Brazil in the Olympics last year, he was clapped off the field by both sets of players when he was sent off for his second bookable offense. I’ll judge his playing potential by that reaction rather than someone who has seen him start couple of games and several 5-10 minute cameos.

I really don’t understand when Espinoza suddenly became a cross between Pele and Maradona?

I watched him warming up at half time yesterday. He was on the edge of the area taking potshots at an empty goal. He missed 80%. I really am not exaggerating.

How is he now world class who will get any passes on target, if he can’t put the ball where he wants it with no challenge? Maybe he does that constantly in training, which is why he doesn’t get a look in?

Sorry for this George its not intended to ridicule you, but Roger was trying to hit the post. I saw him gesture to someone he was warming up with and he managed to hit the post about 3 or 4 times.

Got to totally disagree with people’s opinions on both Jimmy Thur and Powell.

These two are the first names on the team sheet for me. Mac because of his work rate, tackles won and keenness to get forward. Me and my mate were just saying how well he was playing when he ballsed that back pass up. He looked like a madman trying to redeem himself and almost scored just before they did.
As for Powell I’ve seen some players come and go at Wigan in my 40 years of watching um and at 19 years of age, he is right up there with the best. Comparing him to Tom Cleverly when he came on loan, Powell beats him in every department for me. i can’t believe utd have loaned him out with the likes of a 40 year old still getting a game every other week.

He runs from first minute to last, wins his fair share of headers, tracks back, has that knack of ghosting past players and doesn’t seem to be doing much in the process and boy can he finish.
It’s also nice to see someone playing with a smile on their face, he just doesn’t break sweat.
From what I’ve seen so far he doesn’t moan about tackles unless he’s been really done. He was caught high on his thigh late on and got caught with a stray hand, nothing malicious soon after.
If united would accept the full payment for him that we got for the Jimmy Thy deal I would snatch their bleedin hands off. B)

Have you read the small print on your 3 dabs insurance cover meatnprater?

If you break your leg whilst over there they give you a sticking plaster, a thimble full of TCP, a triangle bandage and a safety pin.

If you have a heart attack they poke you in the eyes with a waling pole and tell you to get up you soft barsteward. :woohoo:

Mind you if you die, they do put your body on the return flight home, but jettison you out into the English channel.

He looked like he was playing as a centre half to me ! How can one quality finish become 3 or 4 ? Surely it’s 3 or 4 quality finishes that would have resulted in a 3 or 4 nil !

If we had gone one nil u,p Brighton would have had to be more positive and the back door would have been left open for our pacey wingers to exploit.

If you really thought that the number 38 was playing centre half, what position did you think the 4 players stood behind were playing.?
Well he played defensively enough for me and my failing eyes to think he was playing centre half ! He was man of the match for me anyroad !
I wont argue with that Philmoss although their number 23 ran him close, Conway I think.
