And the best eleven are?

Any mix of 11 players from the squad, but playing in their right position.

Perhaps Paul Ince just fancied watching a football match from inside the ground for a change. :S

I think you’ll find that’s exactly what I said.

No it wasn’t! You said “perhaps they are just enjoying a game of football”. I was just making a tongue in cheek remark about him being inside the ground as opposed to outside, seeing that he his banned from Bloomfield Road for 5 or 6 games.

And you know full well that your Fagin comment referred to Everton taking our players.

Yip that’s 100% correct and I have never said it wasn’t. It was your mate who got into a mucky fuddle about the backroom staff following Bobby to Everton, which I never allured to at all.

It’s nothing to do with me and Standish sticking up for Everton and/or Bobby. It’s more to do with us picking up on childish posts by childish, bitter people.
I applaud you for that comment Griff, it has to be the most patronising comment in the history of CL.
It’s come from a man who’s avatar is a picture of him and Roberto posing like they have just been united through civil partnership. The said same man has also written a kiddies book, which by his own admission has been penned by bringing out the childish side of himself. Don’t get me wrong I admire you for having the time, patience, writing skills etc to be able to write a book, but come on calling other people childish?.

Now as for being bitter, yes I am and I’m sure by now you will have got the gist of why I want Bobby and the team “he always wanted to manage” [his words not mine] fail. Its been brought up enough times on here.
Football gets you like that, perhaps I’m too passionate, too protective, too defensive of my team especially when I feel they’ve been well and truly dumped on. If you want to call it bitter, fair enough, but I don’t have these views / sentiments to please posters on here, you and SW included.

You can be quite dry at times Griff, but other times you can come across to be very insulting, [even though you are probably just trying to be clever, especially with the young posters] and on some occasions, for a chap of your age and intellect, you totally miss the obvious, this thread being a good example.

I’ll wait for the reply from “us two” :P

Just watched an interview with Owen Coyle on Latics player and he said that Rogne was rested on Wednesday.

After watching this seasons games and reading all the thoughts on formations and squad rotation, I thought I would give my views for what it’s worth.

It would be a kind of 442, but more like 4411 with Fortune doing all the running about that Holt is being expected to do at the moment.

Anyway, here is my favoured line up for Saturday.

1, Nicholls
3, Espinoza
5, Roggne
6, Barnett
2, Boyce
7, Beausejour
8, Powell
4, McCann
9, Holt
10,Fortune
11,McMannaman

That starting 11 looks a good call to me. Get the fekker printed off and posted in the home changing room.

The lads might report for duty on satdy well before OC turns up, so they will have put their shirts on and be out warming up in the starting 11’s group.

I realise that Gomez is one of those players who you either love him or hate him.

I always start afresh with him each game he plays, ignoring the previous one cos when hes good he’s good and when hes bad he’s woeful. The boy has got real talent, but today’s game is not just about being good at one or two things, you have to be able to contribute all over the pitch.
I remember during the Maribo game the little bearded guy who came on for um positioned himself in the box when we had a corner. I remember thinking how daft does that look. Needless to say he headed the ball clear.

On Wednesday Gomez’s own players were having a go at him for not tracking back and trying to play himself out of trouble just outside our box.

Now that’s not numpties having a go at him, that’s his own team mates. I would give him about 5 out of 10 on Wednesday, he did have a shot whizz just wide, but then he did shirk out of a few tackles got caught 2 or 3 times in possession and “didn’t track back very well”.

IMHO his game has improved this season and he has probably put more tackles in than he has over the past 4-5 seasons. :woohoo:

… was in the west stand tonight with Ritchie Evans. Wonder what those two Fagins were up to.

Fagins? Have they taken to pick-pocketing?

Considering they both live in Wigan, it’s not a huge shock.

And also, what did you seriously expect them to do when Martinez took the Everton job? Stick to their principles and refuse to go with him – only to find themselves out of work when Coyle got the job and wanted to employ his own people?
With your response you’ve obviously not understood the gist of my post. It was nothing to do with what I expected them to do when Martinez got the Everton job at all, no need to go off on one.

It was a tongue in cheek post about them doing a bit of a scouting job on behalf of Bobby.

You and Edgriff Blyton don’t half get your knickers in a twist if anyone has anything negative to say about Bobby, his staff or indeed Everton Football Club.

Anyroad, I’ve found out today exactly what they were up to last night and believe me they weren’t on their way to Sharpey’s for fish chips mushy peas and gravy, saw the lights, heard the noise and thought, hey there’s a footy match going on here lets have a butchers. :P

The problem I had tonight was Coyles team selection. Am I over thinking this but is MacManaman a left wing back and is Jordie Gomez a right wing back?

Surely rather than play two players out of position you put the players in who can play there.

It was crying out for Jean Beau on the left and either MacManaman or Albrighton on the right.

Gomez was getting slated by his team mates for not chasing back and MacManaman was restricted to dropping his shoulder and coming inside only to be met by two QPR players. He took the full back on once out wide and hit a left foot cross that was weaker than mi mums tea. :(

Two massive positives for me tonight….Lee Nicholls and Chris McCann. Both did more than enough to warrant a good spell in the team.

As for Powell, he is on another football planet than anyone in this championship. He doesn’t break sweat but runs about 10 miles more than any other player. What a player I can’t believe we have him on a season long loan. :)

Don’t take all the garboyle that is thrown about on here too seriously, or you will lose the will to live.

Lets get back to banter, otherwise this board will implode. It’s not about who has the most intellect or who can argue by hitting a keyboard, its about opinions and unfortunately there are posters on here that think getting the “upper hand” in threads is more important than getting their point over.

I know quite a few posters on here in person and there are a few who argue just for a laugh, me included at times, unfortunately there are others who are hell bent on aiming vitriol at anyone who has a difference of opinion.

This is a message board and everyone deserves the right to express their opinions, however once you step over the mark and become vindictive, its probably time to take time out.

Not a bad £1m investment by them so far though. Six goals and two assists from Adomah to date.

we are playing two or three games a week at the moment and coyle has to rotate the squad regularly which doesnt help. i agree we are missing maloney and the two forwards being fit again will help matters. dont forget we are a new team with a new manager and it will take time for things to start going our way, utd arn’t cracking any pots at the moment with a new manager, and with games coming thick and fast i will reserve judgment on coyle until after the christmas fixtures and see where we are then.

i dont really think martinez was the problem he is doing ok at everton
i think the problem was soley whelan ,not willing to finance bobs project with extra funds
ok bob wasted money on bosseli ,but the guy is doing good now ,yes he already had a few decent players there
i really do think whelan has had his time now at the club and its time to sell
big question is who is daft enough to buy
so when bob asked for funds tight ass said no thats why he left
whelan saved the club but is now slowly dissmantling it bit by bit and bringing in shyte

TIME FOR CHANGE

So it was Whelan’s fault that Nick Powell missed a sitter of a header from a few yards out, that Carson took out a player giving a needless penalty away, that we had two efforts hit the cross bar, that we had two efforts cleared off the line. Don’t talk daft mon, Whelan runs the club like a business and rightly so, why should he throw millions at players who may or may not take us anywhere.
We are where we are and we’ve been where we have been, because of Whelan.

Your mum and dad could fork out a fortune for you to go to uni, but you still might end up stacking shelves at Asda.

Yeh it would be great to get back in the Prem, but I am realistic to understand that we have punched above our weight to get and stay there for so long. I can also understand that the Championship will be no stroll in the park, especially for a newly put together team, so patience is a virtue.

Slagging Whelan off at this stage is unbelievably short sighted and totally un-justified.
