What the fek are you girls babbling on about?

Look, you knew he was going to field a load of fringe players, you knew that Bournemouth would have been up for the battle, irrespective of what league they are in [we’ve been there don’t forget], you knew there would be no atmosphere rousted up by the sparse home crowd, you knew bobby doesn’t really put these cup games as a high priority…so why the fekin dummies being spat out you bunch of moaning tworts.

Dave once again yer fingers have gone into gear before your brain. Calm down lad and stop quoting fekin end of season points tally having just seen a bunch of fringe players drawing a cup game.

That’s about as much as I’m going to say on the topic if you really want to carry on moaning please feel free and I’ll log back in about wednesday.

looks superb, how come he went back to Norway and Fergie didn’t sign him up and t’other lad King is going Blackburn?

Apparently it was the players choice…

Solsjkaer after managing him in the reserves took him to Molde with him the cheeky poacher (although it was Solsjkaer who put united on to him in the first place)…

Helped by the fact he was at the end of his contract.

Back in 2010 him, Pogba and Morrison were the ones to watch according to the Man U fans who followed the reserves.

Also had 8 full caps for Norway while he has been at Molde so could be a good signing if pulled off.
It’s in the bag with both fee and medical complete. If you go on twitter and look him up it has been let out the bag somewhere along the line, unless the posts have been removed.

Remember the game well, was willing the ref to continue till the time elapsed whereby the score would stand.
George may be able to tell us what that time was, 75 mins? or have I dreamt it?.

It’s a myth, I’m afraid John, that there is such a time when the “score stands”.

Law 7 states that a game lasts two halves of 45 minutes, and it states “an abandoned match shall be replayed unless the rules of the competition state otherwise”. The FA Cup and Premier League have no such clauses, so any abandonment should be replayed in full. There was the famous 1961 case of Denis Law scoring 6 for City in a game that was abandoned, and had to be replayed. His goals were all erased from the records, and City lost the rearranged match.

In practice the organising committee can look at whether a game abandoned near the end has to be replayed, but it would have to be very near the end.

I was actually at the famous “Denis Law backheel” match that sent United into the (old) second division and that was abandoned after about 88 minutes because of “crowd invasions” (it was actually non-threatening – just kids running all over the pitch) and that wasn’t replayed.

But in answer to your question – there isn’t such a time.
Thanks for clearing that one up George. I’m sure at the time we thought there was a cut off point for the game to stand.

I was at The Dell when United played Southampton in a cup match back in the 70’s. The game was all square with about 2-3 mins to go when a shed full of united fans went out of the away end and came marauding into the home end. Everyone spilled onto the pitch and the ref blew up for full time and quickly ran off with the players. I might have said this afore but what happened next was the biggest battle I have ever been in or seen in my time watching football. Hit or be hit was the name of the game which made it quite difficult with both sets of fans wearing the same colours.
It lasted for at least 30 mins before the cops on horses came onto the pitch to try and clear things up a bit. :woohoo:

I think we also played with orange ball which was fairly rare in those times. Fekin cold that day, toes and fingers well and truly shot at, but not has bad as the Halifax game you mentioned.

Watched it from the the shed stand behind the goals which eventually became the away end. Remember crying with pain and it got worse when I got home and hit the warmth of the fire. Unbelievable thawing out pain. :woohoo:

sure i saw something on sky sports were man utd are set to offer eight million for palace starlet zaha this transfer window
so seeing dicko as been recalled then palace just might be set to make us a offer for him as replacement
soon see if dicko gets a game or is on bench in cup then might be he will be given a chance here if not then he is off

I’ve heard that Dicko was recalled because he wasn’t getting the game time at Blackpool that Latics anticipated/wanted him to get – think he started somet like 2 games & the rest have been 10-15 minute sub appearances.
If that is the case then I don’t think it’s likely that Latics would then send him off to Crystal Palace to the manager who described him as a supersub. Also, if he couldn’t get a game for Blackpool who are upper mid-table I can’t see Holloway wanting Dicko to replace Zaha at his new club who are top (or thereabouts)
If that’s right its a bit of a contradiction as to how Bobby has treated the lad on loan from Arsenal.

I also had a winner on that game,I collected mine before the next game under the South stand no issue. However they would like you collect online if possible that way you open an account with them and gamble your life away on line.

Not been on their site online..

Only thing I would tend to do online is Poker.. Used to always be on it.. Saying that it isn’t quite ‘gambling my life away’ as more or less all the times I would be up and have won a decent wedge

Why did u pack in then when you were winning wads of money. You inferred that you used to bet online which infers you don’t now. If I had the poker tallent that you claim then I would still be cleaning them out.

He’s not doing that on his own initiative. It’s obviously what he’s been instructed to do.

Wigan do try to play the ball out of defence more than most teams.

I have a slight inkling that Ali is perhaps not instructed to kick the ball directly out of play and perhaps on the training ground he doesn’t.

Why not Pollit? He’s never let us down and doesn’t even get a game in cup these days. He’s a year younger than Brad Friedel who is on bench for Spurs. Am sure at end of season we will be looking to push Nichols through to replace him. Ali has been one of our most consistent performers and you couldn’t fault him for any of the goals yesterday. In the grand scheme of things goalkeeper would be the last position I would be worried about.

I’m not normally negative about players, especially Ali, but I personally think he is having a terrible time at the moment.

Fault him for yesterdays display? for the first and most important goal 100% yes! Why does he have to parry the ball forward when he could try to either keep a hold or parry it away from the oncoming strikers. He has done this on numerous occasions this season and it is proving costly.
The other thing he needs to practice is his distribution. If he can’t bowl it out or kick it short, he tonks it to the touchline and it either goes straight out for a throw or Boycie and Beu have to jump 3 metres in the air to head it.

His positional play at crosses is also a bit suspect. He needs to be more dominant around the 6 yard box and not stand and wait hoping he can pull a world class save off from a few yards.

Apart from that he’s doing sorta OK.

Took a slight knock in his last outing. When he came off could be seen quite clearly pointing to his thigh area, therefore probably didn’t want to risk him from the start. Him and James Thur are showing some healthy competitiveness for the spot alongside James Thy, great to see. goodpost

I find it strange how we were on top for the first 20mins but still gave their keeper absolutely nothing to do ! I honestly cannot remember him having to make a single save during the whole game !
As for the beating clubs in the bottom half we have lost 4 won 4 and drawn 1 in the games against the current bottom half, hardly inspiring stuff ! I thought we were very bad today and the excuse of it being Utd should not be used to paper over some pretty ugly cracks that have started to appear of late !

We matched united for big parts of today’s game and if that Kone “goal” would have stood, who knows how the game would have panned out.

We will stay in this league by beating clubs in the bottom half of the league not the top half, so wind your necks in.

Fergie has the luxury of being able to rest players and yet still put a top class team out, we can’t.

To imagine that any Wigan Athletic fans would be spitting dummies out after being beaten by Man United is quite laughable. :P
