Interesting to note the Latics home fixture from fifty years ago this week ! Latics had no fixture on New Years Day , but on January 5th 1963 played Frickley Colliery at home in the Cheshire League , winning 2 – 0 ( scorers Kinsella 4min & O’Loughlin 38min) . The attendance was 1,276 …… today they will face world famous Manchester United at home with an attendance we could only have dreamed about all those years ago ! Enjoy the occassion Latics fans ! :cheer:
Is that you George?

What a journey!Another Video I made Hope you enjoy!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDiWU71hv74Bobby :
Play this before the game on Tuesday and tell the lads that the ‘great Man U’ have come to town to honour ‘wee wee wee Wigan (SAF) with their presence’ and I trust we’ll give ’em a game.
Not forgetting how we scuppered their title charge last season (8 points clear of City, 7 this). Challenge the lads to go out and do the same again.
Ferguson get’s better by the day, today ‘wee club like Newcastle’
(50,000 week in, week out etc.)Stupid TMAT.
But they are a wee club compared to Man U. No matter which angle you want to come from, history, crowds, silverware, global interest etc. etc.
Lets not get into this big crowd = massive club debate shall we, its done the rounds more times than I care to think of and usually we are at the sharp end of the jibes.
SAF whether you like him or not, has probably the biggest bragging rights with respect to prem league managers past or present. As for that pilluk hardpoo I wouldn’t pish on him if hi were on fire.

What a journey! All the best to all our CL chums. We may disagree on many things but we all support the biggest little club in England.

What a journey! From were I was sat it looked pretty clear that Williams wanted to hit RVP. Just played it back 4 or 5 times and he’s actually looking at the ball or RVP head which were about 3 feet apart.
Yes he could have broke his neck quite easily, especially as RVP could not see it coming and therefore would have been relaxed.
If you know someone is going to tvvat you, then its easy to get tensed up and be ready for it, but whilst lied on the floor with your back to the assailant then anything could happen. If I was RVP I wouldn’t wait for the doddering FA to take action, I would be straight on to the police to report an assault. If any of us went up to a lad lying on the floor in King St and kicked him in the head from behind we would be locked up. That was just as bad in my opinion and he should be given a lengthy ban, just like Cantona got.
It works in the opposite way re being relaxed ! Think when toddlers fall downstairs and very rarely get injured whereas when adults fall downstairs they end up coming a cropper due to tensing up ! Just saying like ! Happy Xmas and prob see you in New year if your lad plays the Railway again !
All the best to you to Phil, I’m sure he’ll end up going back to that neck of the woods again, seem to like their ska and stuff up there.

What a journey! The Flamingo [affectionately known as the flying ashtray] in Scholes was one to keep at arms length.
Funnily enough I’ve been in the very same building tonight for an Indian meal.
I took a Sunday night booking in there just cos it was up the road from me.I’d got through about 4 or 5 songs and two women started fighting. No plugging of hair it was proper thumps and kicks and nobody had the guts to break it up.

One of my old mates from Aspull, Dave Sculley was landlord, nuff said!
He’s the only person I’ve ever seen kick his way out of a Black Maria, having bin cuffed to the rail.

What a journey!Sorry guys but two wrongs don’t make a right. Fergie did not try to defend Cantona after his kung foo kick on that fan, so why make the comparison?
The scholes / rooney incidents were nothing more than hand bags at five paces rather than life threatening challenges. OK they should have been punished with red cards but that’s all.
I can’t believe you are trying to make this incident seem like run of the mill stuff just because you don’t like united or Fergie.
Williams is a fantastic player, wish we had him, but doing that to your fellow professional is in-excusable, get the fekker banned for the rest of the season. :angry:From Matlock to ManU

What a journey!Wish we had him.And nothing at all wrong with his tackle on Maloney.
Have to agree think the big bodied, but little leg is a Joey Barton type player but today both James Mac and James Thur were better than him. goodpost

What a journey!Franco still had an earring in so he made him leave the field to take it out. The rules apparently state that you can only let someone back on the field after an infringement of the rules, when the ball goes out of play. :woohoo:
Perhaps George could clear that one up for us.

What a journey!Oops, Arsenal at Bayern it should have read :silly:
If Arsenal don’t play to their best then they will do more than just struggle at Bayern! Will be a good game though and could go either way if Arsenal perform well! B)
Arsenal have had an inconsistent season so far but just might have turned a corner?
Not a man u lover by any stretch but that tie does look to be the pick of the lot
I myself am a Man Utd hater, hate everything about them and the majority of their fans. Admittedly that is the most lucrative tie, but I think it will be a massive anti-climax when it gets to the game, really don’t enjoy watching Utd play its quite boring, and think they will ruin what should be a good match for the neutrals. (Not sure if I class as a neutral as I will be cheering on Madrid all the way in this fixture) B)
I take it you didn’t see the Manchester derby last week? B) :P

What a journey!Fek off the lot of you!, hope your Christmas trees catch fire, your car handbrake fails whilst its parked up and you watch it crashing into a lamp post, you get 6 numbers in the lotto only to find out there are 3 million others sharing it with you, your garden gnomes get smashed by the next door neighbour’s kids football, you trip up and burst your lip going to the DW this Saturday, your missus elopes with Griff and Standish Walker, your japs eyes heal up and its the end of the world on January 3rd 2013.
