Put my bet on yesterday,Blackpool at 3/1 and Chelsea at 7/2. Nice little double if it comes in.
Sky have been promoting today as the “day of destiny”, me thinks it may be the “day of the underdogs” :woohoo: goodpost

What a journey!Seconds before that picture was taken Bobby had received a hefty kick to the goolie area me thinks. :woohoo:

What a journey!I have mixed views on this. No matter what you say about Owen he is still a world class finisher.
When coming on as sub for united over the past few years he bagged quite a few. He has more than enough business commitments to keep his bank balance ticking over, so might take a huge pay cut to finish out his playing career in the top league.
If you look at what Kevin Phillips has done at both Birmingham and Blackpool he just loves getting 30 mins to do his stuff and I think we could do the same thing with Owen.
Just ask yourself, we are drawing 0-0 with say Villa going into the last 20 mins and despite most of the play have missed numerous chances.
You look over to the bench and see Connor Sammon and Michael Owen sat there, who do you tell to warm up? B) :woohoo:Connor Sammon shouldn’t even be on the bench in the first place he is quite simply not good enough so your closing statement is a poor comparison to be fair !
Seeing that you my friend was one of the posters who ranted for most of the season that bobby wasn’t good enough, I will take your latest post with a pinch of salt. :P

What a journey!they dont deserve him with all the comments their fans are putting on twitter!!
The messageboards are worse.
Short memories those scousers, have they forgot that it was Roberto Martinez who masterminded “that team fighting relegation” to take all 3 nurps at Anfield this season.
Liverpool don’t deserve Bobby, never mind the scouse gits not wanting him. :P

Could this be the best team building exercise ever?

What a journey!Whatever happens to Bobby the truth is, he has nurtured a team of mediocre players, many of them young, new to the prem and eventually has got them playing superb football.
On the other hand king Kenny has got himself a shed load of superstars that have cost the earth and in terms of Liverpool football club has had a bad season with respect to the EPL.[OK he won a cup and did well in the other]
Whichever way you look at it, if I’m in charge of an illustrious club such as Liverpool, I may just want to try my luck with someone of the hilt of Martinez. B)From Matlock to ManU
What a journey! There’s talk of invading the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate staying up,my advice is DON’T do it, not only will it spoil the lap of honour & the fun for everyone else in clapping the players off,you will also be arrested for going on there. So please, stay OFF!.Enjoy the game! :)Not that I personally want to go on the pitch, but this is the normal thing that has happened every season and will continue to happen.
Whistle goes, people run on pitch, stewards make an half hearted effort at trying to stop the first half dozen fans, the players get mobbed and run off, the fans chant on the pitch, the players emerge from somewhere in the stand and soak up the atmosphere. Everyone goes home happy!chill out lad! B)

Its over mate ! There has been a peace treaty, sorry to disappoint you but we are united as one now !
No need to feel that I will be disappointed in any way that the moaning barstewards have now seen the light. I just know 100% that certain forum lurkers on here will be waiting in the wings to jump back into their old ways, first opportunity.

What a journey!Fair point but even so he is still learning his trade as a manager and coach and the majority of this season (23 games)has been appalling and questions need asking as to why they started so poorly given that most of the current squad were at the club back in august last year.
I agree totally how great it is to survive and i am very proud but he is no way ready to take a big job.
Next season(if he stays) could be the making of him though and im sure we will all expect much more from him and the team.Don’t get me wrong Vince , I totally agree with you he is still learning the trade – he has afterall still had just three years as a top level manager. I would hate to see him go now to a massive club where they will demand instant success and he could well end up just
another managerial casualty.
I’ve said before we could be on the verge of something special here and I’m sure he will want to see just what we can achieve. I honestly believe he’ll be here for at least another year regardless of who comes knocking.
I hope he stays but the entire backroom staff need to sit down and get the bit between the teeth earlier in the season and not prance round like they have won the champions league because they stayed up.They have avoided relegation AGAIN and it is hardly celebratory stuff when you look at it in the cold light of day.I think the bad start was caused by too much dwelling on the heroics of West ham and Stoke and that casual celebratory atmosphere carried on well into this season hence the dreadful start.
Caldwell really impressed me on sky on monday when he played down the survival with a face that suggested rank disappointment rather than celebration.
It is now time to stop treading water and move the club forward which surely Dave Whelan can see the result of the winning team of recent weeks is a full house of home supporters this sunday. It wont take much money other than securing the staff at the club and giving him a realistic budget for prudent transfer dealing that Martinez seems to be very good at.
This surely would be much rather than daft spending on mediocre players past their sell by date that we have seen in the past.
If they start next season as they finished this one then surely we are looking at bigger crowds and cup runs and a more enjoyable season than the one we have just had.
The bar has been raised in recent weeks so i reckon he should stay for one more year at least to see what happens.
If or when he moves on if he does go to a big club he will have to hit the ground running. They would not put up with two and a half years of shite like we have.
I’m sorry but I don’t agree that we have had to put up with “two and a half years of shite”
I have seen a young manager, with fresh ideas, with a loyalty to a club like I’ve never seen before, who is not afraid to try out new systems, who sticks with players that were struggling to cope with the rigours of the EPL and turned them into Player Of The Season material. More importantly, he also manages to keep his team, our team, in the EPL when confronted with all sorts of pressure from the media and people outside our family circle.
Yes the roads been rocky and will no doubt continue to be, but I have sort of enjoyed the ride so far. I’ve slated players, systems performances like the rest of our supporters, but I’ve never lost the feeling that this period in the history of Wigan Athletic football Club, was going to be special.
Believe me, I have not been wearing my blue tinted glasses all through this, ask my mate who travels with me to matches and sits next to me at the ground.
However, I’ve always been positive going into the next game and enjoyed the football Bobby and his team have tried to serve up and failed, but more recently, have served up with deserved success. We are all entitled to have our views and I respect yours, but in my case “Two and half years of shite”?…..100% no!
