Its a 50% record now and a very respectable 15370 turned up.

Well done, Leeds apart from SH will be your best crowd. 15,370 is like a Wigan- Fulham game, absolute dross and its cost the good folk of Wigan about £10 to watch.

Totally agree there Fil. I acutally posted on here to back Suarez after the initial claims. After today, the man’s obviously a racist prick. Get him on the next plane back to Uruguay. It’s not often I want ManU to win, but today I was with Evra with his end of match celebrations. As for Wigan…we’ve just beaten one of our opponents in the Championship next season…big deal.

Sorry you’ve given up pal, but today’s proved we can stop up. If your so turned on about the championship go and support Barnsley or Watford. :P

The two Maccas were and will be our saviours this season. Wanting to fight for our cause is something we has Wiganers strive for and want. That was there in abundance today.
I have been the biggest critic of Caldwell and anyone who has partnered him in defence, but today and the last few games he has showed he wants to fight for our cause.
Well done Steve, well done Antolin, fekin awesome today and if we finish below Noblot I will pierce my scrotum with a rusty nail.

I kinda understand fans booing the Latics team off after a bad performance, being that one player alone is getting paid more than the full 20 odd klumps in cherry and shyte.

However being that it was the first game for the chubsters with their shiny spanking new coach, seems a tad harsh booing his team off after just 80 mins of action. Sounds like it will be a long hard season for our lodgers and that poor old cowboy Mr Wane.

Moorgate pub by any chance then Poacher at Scott lane ends, Ramada Jarvis hotel and Brinsop?

Hare and Hounds shut down and that just leaves Gerrard Arms and Royal Oak after the Queens Head at the finger post, RO is just an eating house and don’t cater for casual boozers.

Don’t forget this is a charity walk not a pub crawl. ;)

One word of warning, New Springs Leg Iron doesn’t exits anymore, its called Rose Variety Club or summat.

I live just a stones throw from the club so may bob in for a couple of beers. Already sponsored a walker and will throw some money into the bucket.

Going back to my Wigan Ammy days and playing for Aspull, the manager at the time Len Sharp, had this surprise tactic at the first corner.

No matter what time in the game it arrived, we would all pile into the box apart from the corner taker and keeper.

We would huddle around the edge of the 6 yard box and it would look like pandemonium. The success rate of getting a goal was remarkable even when teams sussed it.

It would be great if the pro managers had some sort of “totally against the training manual” sort of tactic that meant taking a chance.

Say for instance its your turn to KO, every player apart from the person kicking off and the goalie, lined up on the half way line at one side of the field taking up a 100m sprint blocks type of position . As soon as the whistle is blown they all set off sprinting into their opponents half and the ball is immediately punted long and high towards the on running players.

You would have to make sure the ball wasn’t charged down though in the centre circle.

Ill be very very surprised if a club of Portsmouths stature goes bang without some last minute 11 th hour savour coming in or a reform in one of the non leagues.
I have always had a soft spot for this club and always remember them bringing loads to Springy in the late 70s.
It is very grim for them andi agree we should be very very thankful we have a club to support now and in years to come regardless of what division we are in.

Are you not thinking of Plymouth? :woohoo:

I’ve made a point of taking my kids since they could walk and to grow up as you say supporting your local team just as i have done since the northern prem days.
My youngest said the other day ;-

I don’t like going latic’s no more dad, Martinez is crap !! ,
just to point out , he never mentioned the players ,its black n white to kids no 3-5-2 5-3-2 etc,,,
I’m a latic’s fan , period , but i’m sorry to say Martinez has slowly but surely been found out. He’s in the 16ft 6″ when he should be in the kid’s paddling area with arm bands on.He remind’s of a stubborn old man who want’s to prove he’s right no matter what.

as me old man use to say
“you can’t paint a turd !, it will always smell”.

You never responded when asked how old your kids are, this is key in establishing why they have come out with that remark. I come home from games and if my grand kids are in they will hear me moaning to the missus if we’ve been crap, kids easily pick up the vibes. Sometimes my grandson who’s not quite 3 yet will shout rubbish, rubbish, when I walk in from a game with my Latics scarf and bob cap on, as the missus as already told him we’ve lost. Your kid will no doubt have listened to you and others when chatting about the match before and after KO. If your kid is hearing these comments about Martinez they will respond similarly. They also want to see their team win its natural. I would argue that its nothing to do with understanding the formation and tactics but just what on the score board in big orange lights. Think about when we were kids, I had a different teams top on every 12 months depending on who was top of the league, its very, very easy supporting a winning team.
If your kids are a bit older and fully understand the whole tactics thing, then they may be at that age when there’s better things for them to be doing than watching a losing team every Saturday, if you know what I mean. ;).

Anybody know how ticket sales are doing ?

surely its about time we sold out an away allocation?

this is a massive game…. I personally think we must win.

                            Bring it on!

Its dead easy to find out how ticket sales are going. Go on E Ticketing on the official website go through the rigmarole of adding a Bolton ticket to your basket, check the number that is allocated at the last check, app 1420, and then empty your basket. ;)

Excellent post Scholes, more or less wraps it up in a nut shell.

The problems is, there will be some on here who will spend hours dissecting your post and pick out bits to respond in a negative manner.

I just like the DS on here have ripped performances to shreds coming home in the car after a match. However, after having a bit of summat to eat a shower and a shyte, its all history and the focus is on the next game. I walk to the ground on the following match day like most other fans, wondering what team is going to turn up hoping for a decent display and 3 nurps. This is what football is all about, it must be fekin boring for example being a Celtic and Rangers fan who have only the old firm derbies to look forward to every season.

Every fan has the right to voice their opinion on their clubs performances, manager, team, chairman, tea lady etc. but the stuff that comes out on here day after day makes me cringe. OK there will be a few chubster fans amongst them playing devils advocate, but there are fans that have followed the tics for 30 years and more churning out these constant tirades FFS.

I’m just trying to prove I know nowt about fishing and want to keep it that way am I doing alright?.

The last time I went fishing was at the D & C on the windmill field at Haigh when I was about 12. I had a spanking new 9 foot fibre glass rod with a top of the range reel. I and about 10 others caught about 6 small perch between us.
Roy “tog” Jolly on the other hand skieved some magots, line and a hook from us and fished about 18 inches from the side of the bank with his line attached to a 3 foot branch. He pulled out a massive tench nearly as big as us. I get the feeling when walking past the fishermen these days nothings changed. All the keenies with all the gear get fek aw whilst the George Roper lookalike with his man made rod, biscuit tin full of bits and bobs, fills his keep net in a couple of hours.
