Was going to say the same thing. He and the assistants got hardly anything right. He goes down as the worst official I have ever seen since Kevin Lynch. He made error after error, let the players rough him up in the end he looked like he just wanted to blow up and get off the pitch. It’s not sour grapes as we have been winning matches, the refs in this league are woeful. Yesterday didn’t do anything to change my opinion. Their sending off was ridiculous, as was the lack of cards for persistent fouling. It appears like it’s ok now to go rattling into someone from behind. There must have been at least 10 occasions when players were barged down from behind and play was allowed to continue.
I am looking at this as a good point. Blackburn will be our man threat this season and we didn’t allow them to gain any ground. A game to forget for many reasons, let’s move on and focus on the cup game and then Rochdale. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Perhaps we are back at a level where Mick Mouse cups do matter. Lets not get a Johnny by Bollux attitude. Its something we could win without risking any first teamers and jeopardising our assault on promotion. Anyway your loss, was a great game and gave some youngsters a chance to taste some competitive action. People moan that we don’t give the young uns a chance and the same people don’t want to go and support them. We will agree to disagree, I’ve already got my Stanley game tickets and looking forward to the match. I’ll keep those posted who choose not to attend, on the progress of the academy boys and first team fringers.

What a journey! But Boro under 23’s are probably as good if not better than most league 2 teams. It was a great test for the team PC played. It’s not like it was a team full of kids, there are many under 23’s playing first team football in all 4 English leagues. You need to stop focussing too much on the opposition and think about it being a competitive match involving the team you support. I couldn’t give a flying fek who we played, it’s totally irrelevant in the scheme of things. Middlesbrough u23’s or Exeter City if they run out onto the DW pitch, I want the tics to beat them and will be there to cheer um on.

What a journey!I cant get my head round some of the reasons some fans are coming out with for not going to these cup matches. At the end of the day it’s a Wigan athletic team playing a competitive match. Look at it as a good opportunity to see how well the fringe players perform and the youngsters. As it happened it was a bloody good game to watch, very competitive with two teams going for it. It was also nice to watch a no pressure game, although I did want us to win. At the end of the day it was a straight choice between Emmerdale / Coronation St and a game or footy, shall we say it was a no brainer for me.

What a journey!Do you honestly think that players go out and don’t give their all? No matter how much money they are on I believe they do want to play well. However just like we’ve seen this year, when teams come with two banks of four playing deep, it’s bloody hard to break them down, so passing from side to side looking for gaps is the only option. To say they don’t give their all is without foundation. Sometimes you have to look where we are in world standings instead of berating the players and management.

What a journey!Correct that, losing 2-1 and might be sat in their living rooms next June, watching their old enemy playing Brasil etc.

What a journey! You are making those comments from the comfort of your living room. There are hard core England fans who watch them win or lose and pay good money to do so. Just like me and you would watch Latics win or lose.
I’m sorry but we will have to agree to disagree on this and start the debate next year at the finals. I bet the Scots wish they had comfortably qualified playing good or bad, than pishing in their pants at 1-1 in Slovenia. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!I can’t believe the attitude of many fans following England’s world cup qualification. I’m not a lover of international football, but like most will get a bit of interest when the finals come round. We have qualified end of, job done with games to spare.
For some reason us Brits hate winners, whilst other countries put winners on pedastles.
Can anyone remember how the 1966 world cup winning squad performed leading up to the finals? I realise not many of us were around then but the same will apply to all previous world cup winners. It means jack shyte how you play in the qualifications or even finals themselves as long as you first qualify and then do enough to win the damn thing. Germans think their team do well to grind out a result in qualifying, whereas we think they our team are a pile of shyte. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey! The boy has publically apologised to players, staff and fans. Cookie has not condoned his actions but has put it down to “youthful exuberance”. Not what we want to see, but a clear indication that the players are hyped up and fighting, literally, for the cause.
Evans may be punished further for his actions, by opening the door for Max Power to stake his claim. Morsy is back next week so once again we shouldn’t be weakened for the Southend game. The sending off is now history. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!I think Walsall will take points off many teams this season. Very workman like and the young number 18 looked really bright as did the diminutive number 10. I think today’s win at a canter, shows where we are in this league. James out Elder in and it didn’t make any difference. Shrewsbury are doing well, but will they keep it up when suspensions and injuries kick in, we will.

What a journey!Rubbish, Shrewsbury fully deserved the 3 points and we didn’t create much. Agree we should have been 4 up at ht to Pompey.

What a journey!I am not an old tight git and have probably paid more money to Wigan Athletic than most on here!?? Plus, I am not saying that I cant afford to pay around £77 for just one 3rd level match, as I do have my own businesses, and the £77 represents around an hour and 10 mins work of net pay.
So its not that I can’t afford it, its the principle ….£77 for just one 3rd level game of football for 2 adults and a 13yo child is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE….And I will NOT be going to ANY GAMES at these prices this season. It will be the first time since 1971 that I will have not been to any games. When I 1st started watching The Latics I think it was around 10p to get in, and i used to sell programs to get free entry + a few penny’s commission.
We used to go to places like: Netherfield, Skem Utd, Matlock, Great Harwood, Ellesmere Port Town, since 1971 I have probably missed less than 20 home games in all that time before this season.
But, now I think the club is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. Less than 9,000 attended on Sat and there will be even less on Tuesday.
It’s senseless by the club, there will be around 18,000 empty seats on Tuesday, if they started charging £15 for adults and a £5 for under 18’s they may get an extra couple of thousand on.!??
I don’t care what any other clubs charge, I am not interested in any other clubs, and it doesn’t matter what the seasons tickets cost. It’s the pay on the day prices I think are an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!, and as a supporter of over 46 years i believe that i am quite entitled to my opinion without any childish jibes and cat calling thanks very much!
I reckon this lad thinks it’s an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE
I also reckon this is a wind up
And I also reckon this is Dave Garswood on account of the CAPITALISATION in his post
Dave, are you owning up to this?[/quote]
It won’t be Dave he is too busy hunting down the boo boys.

What a journey!Yes i do know you and you are ready for yet another melt down. You often forget what you’ve said on here, not sure if you are a thick as you make out, but I’ve not attacked you at all. I’ve simply said what you have done in the past. Read my post especially the bit at the begining where I say I’m not one for booing. Did you or did you not say that you was thinking of throwing your season ticket on the pitch and not watching um again? You need to grow up lad and please don’t go on melt down. Max Power wanted to turn his back on our club just like you did. End of!
