I tend to give the manager and coaches at the club the benefit of the doubt when making decisions on letting players go. They see them day in day out, they are privy to players performances during real game training. They see if they fit into the style of play the manager wants to play. They are better placed to see which players in the squad fill particular positions better than other squad members.

We are entitled to our opinion but base them on watching players once a week [many on here don’t even see them live weekly and that’s not a criticism], on watching you-tube videos, on seeing them playing in other teams and leagues and making judgments based on what could have been.

In addition to the above, we make comments following a defeat or string of poor performances. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve walked off grounds saying that I’m going to no more away games, yet within a couple of days I’m on line getting tickets.

WJ may have wanted to keep Morsy, who knows but in this instance it was out of his hands.

Sorry jr marrer but it was the said manager and coaches who last season had us playing a more offensive style had Will Grigg scoring for fun full of confidence and had us enjoying our football. In summer all changed Morsey and Colclough were shipped out we went to a more defensive tactic and instead of letting last seasons momentum and confidence take us through the first few games of the new season the squad was overhauled to excess. If they see so much on the training pitch then how come they cant get it right on match days?. I feel it is unfair to lay blame for this season on the players when all the major disastrous decisions have been off field cock ups. It is funny how we can watch the same games and have so varied opinions but to me the manager and coaches are the root of all our problems. If Grigg goes we will see just how good he is in a more balanced set up than we have here. Chelsea are the perfect example of good coaching/bad coaching, last season Mourinho lost it and they were shite. Conte has basically the same players yet this season they look like world beaters. If we cant get it right off the pitch we will never get it sorted on it.
I see where you coming from NL, but I strongly suspect WG on current ratings will not get the chance of playing under a “better” coach. He will more than likely go back to league one or be a bench warmer with someone like Sheff Wednesday. :(

Heard tonight that Grigg has been told he can go in this window for offers around £2m.

I really like Will as a player, gives 100% and purrs around like a rolls royce, is he good enough for the championship? half a season says hes not. :(

Watch him as soon as he leaves and has decent coaches around him.
He can be coached by the top coaches in the world, but it wont stop him failing to score in one on one situations, missing point blank headers or failing to win any arial challenges.

He is our modern day Graham Jones, was a golden boot winner in one league, went up a league and looked like he was playing in Wellington boots. You see this often in football, however I would love it if he started banging them in. I’ve always rated the lad and to be honest if you are talking about coaches, they don’t come with better credentials than his current one.

Morsy was a complete disappointment when he played for us. I didn’t see anything in him that made me feel we should hang on to him. Not sure how much we paid for him but £400k seems a good deal for me.

Is he any better than the holding midfielders we have? Not in the same league as McDonald IMHO, its certainly not going to get me spitting my dummy out.

4-4-2 on paper against the worst team in the league and lost the midfield battle resulting in them being 3-0 up at HT and really should have been 5.

Is it not better to win the lions share of possession, limit them to a few chances and hope our attacking players have their shooting boots on, when presented with chances?.

I and posters like Garswood Latic could see the tactical positives in flooding midfield. That first half performance had me squirming in my seat, it was embarrassing.

Did the second half display simply paper over the cracks? who knows but it was certainly hell of a lot better. Did we play 4-4-2 or did Grigg play in the hole? couldn’t work it out really, I spent more time with my gloved hands over my eyes.

                    What next? :woohoo:

I am not one for changing managers – I never wanted Caldwell to be sacked I firmly believe he was starting to turn it around and we would have been ok.

I also believe the club has made a big mistake with Joyce. I don’t like him putting the cones out before the game, him wearing shorts, seemingly side-lining all the coaching staff, making Barrow sit in the dug out when he used to do an effective job in the media gantry sending down messages to the bench. I don’t like him referring to one of our players as “Powelly”. I don’t like the fact that he comes across as an idiot!

I guess I don’t seem to like his amateur approach. Most of all I don’t like the negative almost defeatist attitude to games.

A mistake has been made in this appointment and while it will look bad on the club I believe the mistake needs to be rectified ASAP. Even if that means giving the job to Barrow until the end of the season.

Now come on!, we were in a mess before Joyce came in, fair play to him trying something different as in this league, having Barrow in the media gantry, Caldwell wearing nice pants and jumper was simply not working, unless I’m missing something.

We could have easily lost faith in Caldwell before he found the right formula last season, lets give WJ a window and then judge him.

I still can’t get to my seats, and I refuse to pay for a premium phonecall, an admin fee, and have to hope on the tickets being posted with all the staff being off over the holidays, when online I buy them whenever and print at home.
I’ve tried messaging the club, but not really getting anywhere.

Funny you should post now GL, I was just about to!

Just been on ticket website, absolutely no change…no progress at all.

Nothing on the website about how to claim our seats. Why should ST have to ring up when anyone else can go online and print off ticket at home, as you say?
The answer to that question is because you have the privilege of securing your own seat, even though they are on general sale.!

If you want your own seat that badly, get on the phone[ if you don’t have a mobile phone, I guess someone in your household will], or nip to the ground to claim your seat if you don’t want to pay the £2 booking fee.
If you are not that bothered about sitting in your season card seat, do what all non season ticket holders are doing and book online, its a simple as that.
Not really a thing to moan about, given the amount of time you have had to claim your seat and just a tenner at that.
Is that the official club position? There’s nothing on the website to confirm any instructions for ST holders
Yes, it is.
Source?

If it is the official position, I won’t be going on principle and would encourage other ST’ers to stay away as well. The attendance will be poor at best, so why make it difficult for us to claim our seats?
Whats so difficult about picking a phone up and dialing 0871 66 33 552? FFS Leyland tha making a song and dance about this, even with your booking fee itul just cost £12 for your fekin seat!

                            :P
0871 numbers are charged, so it’ll cost more than that. And with the holiday it won’t be certain they’ll get sent out.
As it is, I now have my tickets printed at home.
Correct George, at 12p per minute, it would have cost about 36p to get tickets on line.
The game is taking place on the 7th January not 30th December, even with the bank holidays for xmas and new year they would still reach us in time if sent out by a snail with big daddy on its back.
