Might be a tad fairer if the teams in the play off places received a goal start based on the number of points more they have than the team they are playing.
So a team finishing 3rd on 79 pts might get a 2 goal start when playing the 6th placed team who finished on 69 pots. i.e. a goal for every 5 points clear.
This could apply to every play off game, even the final. :woohoo:

What a journey! You can debate this all you want, but teams know the score before the season starts, its not like it’s something that’s been introduced with 5 games left. As SW says, it prolongs the season and makes for some exciting final games.
We more or less rolled over and played dead for Barnsley, this would be the case in many games in April / May time , if just the top 3 went up.
Brighton bottled it 3 games on the bounce, twice against a team they should have beaten over two legs but didn’t. It’s not the play off system that is wrong, its Brighton’s inability to beat Boro and Wednesday when it mattered, that cost um and for that reason, they don’t deserve to go up.

What a journey!personally ive no time for the fella after he jumped ship when things got a little tough
He was offered a better paid job at a bigger club. It was a no-brainer.
What, really, did you expect him to do? What would you have done?
Think seriously about if I felt I was ready for a bigger club, bearing in mind my age and experience.
If I got offered the MD’s job at our place with triple my salary, I wouldn’t take it cos I’d feel out my depth. Bobby could and in hindsight should, have stuck with Wigan to get a bit more experience and to see if he had it in him to get his team back in the top league, after all he was the one who relegated them.

What a journey! How Long Before “Bottom Four Bob” gets a new job??
If the rumours i’ve heard are true, then everton have approached david sharpe to speak to gary caldwell. Meaning………….
Oh the Everton fans would love that
Mind you if GC did follow in Bobby’s footsteps, I don’t think he’d be daft enough to promise them Champions League football in his first interview.

What a journey!Sorry fellas, but you’ll have to make do with a trip to Newcastle next season, unless you draw Sunderland in the Cup.Or look at it from another angle, the Geordies get to play against a recent major cup winner and current league title holders all in one go.

What a journey!I actually can see some positives with Nicholls, although I’m not going to and can’t, defend his performance on Sunday. :woohoo:
I like the way he’s not afraid to come out to catch crosses / corners. He made three or four confident catches around the penalty spot area, I remember him dropping one corner or free kick in the first half, but got a foul. That’s what top goalies do, they come out for crosses and if they baws up, they go crashing to the ground in a heap.
Jussi and other keepers before him including Ali, tend to stay put hoping a defender will win it, or they will make a good reaction save.
The other thing he’s good at is distribution. I know he gave the ball several times to defenders when everyone thought he should punt it up field, but he’s just doing what GC has told him to do.i lost count of the balls that rocketed to our players around the half way line.
There’s a good goalie in him somewhere and the only way of developing him is to give him game time, which unfortunately won’t happen as we’ve seen with O’Donnell.

What a journey! And Will Grigster scored more than Jammy Vardy; guess that’ll not get a mention either !To be fair Will has had the opportunity to score in 8 more games than Vardy.

What a journey!Out of interest, did anyone book that taxi for caldwell.
No, but I think Bobby will need it on Monday morning !
No Champions League games at Goodison next season. With the squad of players at Everton you would expect them to be doing a bit better.
Thought Bobby was doing OK. Semi final and all that.
Semis win you FA, its either silverware, a final, or out with the washing. Bobby has got um OWTW.

What a journey!I’m ready to pick my £160 up on Saturday. A tenner each way at 12/1, just £19 to cough up for my 2016-2017 season ticket.
I just love it when a plan comes together.
PS Martinez out! Martinez out!

What a journey! And don’t forget Jimmy probably the main reason we are looking like we will bounce back to The Championship this season is because of The Premier League parachute payments. Without the budget we have had this year we may not even have been looking at an automatic promotion place.Didn’t Blackpool have exactly the same parachute payments???. Stop being negative mon, its not about the money, its what you do with it that counts. Ask the QPR fans.
Our Mr Sharpe, Mr Jackson and Mr Caldwell, have done a superb job and touch wood, will achieve what they say they would achieve barring a fall at the last fence. Lets leave money out of this, it bugs me to death when pundits, other managers, other fans harp on about it, its seems ten times worse when it’s coming from our own fans.
