Rotherham seem to be interested in young Tavernier. We apparently seem to be interested in Derbyshire. If they were to give us say two million plus Derbyshire for Tavernier that would be a bit of good business, provided there were some major sell on clauses if they were to move Tavernier on.
I’ve got a better idea, let’s keep Tavernier and tell Rotherham to keep hold of Derbyshire seeing they paid diddly squat for him.

What a journey!they only have to be better than 4 clubs to win out. Tee hee!
Bit like Chelsea then ;)
Correct but Chelsea do win things and will probably win something again this year, your point is?? B)

What a journey! The sad multiposting individual concerned has been outed on the WEP.There are suggestions he may frequent this site. Seeing as he left school in 1984, then he could well have been following the laughtics for 35 years or more.
Evening Trev ;)
The laughtics, that goes down as the most childish post of all time, even beating my chubster jibe you sad fekin twat. Have Leeds not won that super league yet? Un warra bout challenge cup are the mighty cherry un white still fighting it out for the silverware? What a joke of a club and they only have to be better than 4 clubs to win out. Tee hee!

What a journey!I’ve been doing a bit of youtube surfing for this guy from Dundee Utd, he seems to be in the exact same mold as that Adel Taarabt who played for QPR. Loads of skill and trickery, but treads a fine line between sheer brilliance and downright selfishness.
If GC can convince him to come and tame him, he will be another player affording a big transfer fee in 2-3 years time. :)

What a journey! They are not skint. The TV income pretty much covers the salary cap, then you have the income from sponsorship, merchandise and ticket sales which will more than cover the salaries for the remaining staff and rent for using DWs stadium. Then of course there is the money that has come in from selling players (Hansen, Hock) and sometimes getting them back for way less (Tomkins x2, Mossop). That said, it is a grand gesture by Mr Whelan, and its a shame that 35 hasn’t included the text from the whole article, choosing to gloss over the positive bits and instead copying and pasting the comments from a poster with multiple identities on that site who has just about united everyone in their utter contempt for him. Even his “son” has posted telling him to grow up, get out of his pyjamas and stop spending every minute of every day on the site trolling.
For anyone interested in the whole article, it is here:

That must be the best example of the pot calling the kettle black bum in living history.

What a journey!I’m looking at this differently, rightly or wrongly.
David Sharpe, [who I originally thought was far too young and wet behind the years to take on the chairman’s job]is sending out all the right messages. I am warming to him more and more and for a lad of his age, has got extremely large testicles to take on this job with the club in free fall.
No doubt he has been instructed by Sir Dave, to keep the finances in good nick, but having seen him on the terraces standing shoulder to shoulder with fellow tics mon, his passion is from the heart and hes one of us.
The same with Gary Caldwell, he is building a team to get us out of this league, so expect a mixture of youth and old heads. The likes of Billy Sharp, if he signs, has scored for fun in league one and hopefully will do the same for us.
You can’t go building a team beyond the division you are in, once promoted [ with 100 points or less] then its out with the old and in with the new again. Some fans on here just can’t seem to move on and will be still be moaning if we are 10 points clear of the rest come Christmas.
At the end of the day its little Wigan we are on about, the team who have surprised the world of football with what it has achieved this past 10-12 years. We don’t need our fans to suddenly become Johnny Big Bollux cos we are going through a rough patch.
This coming season is going to be a big, big challenge, no matter what team GC assembles. We are the team everyone will want to beat, so don’t be fooled in thinking we just need to spend millions on players and everything will be alright. I want to see the likes of Chow and Power chasing crisp packets and some older head creating that magic pass for the likes of Grant Holt to finish off.
Here’s to a great season and please chill out boys, we can start worrying if we are hovering around the relegation zone come Christmas, but not 6 weeks before the season flippin starts. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Agreed Standish, I would say 1.5 mill would be half decent, a third of that amount isn’t. ;)
Oh dear. I didn’t see the report that it was EUR 700k.
Last I heard, EUR 2m had been offered.
If it’s indeed EUR 700k, that’s not great!
It’s not great, but we will have saved in the region of £20K a week in wagesfor the last 6 months and the next 24 months.
He will however need replacing, more than likely with a free transfer on lower wages, but nevertheless who ever we get can hardly be as ineffective as Riera.
Or should it be, who ever replaces Riera will be given half a fekin chance to prove himself. That lad was treated shocking and was just finding his feet when for whatever reason he was left out in the cold. When are managers going to learn that some players hit the ground running, others take a bit more time.

What a journey!http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33246142Good interview with James.
I thought i had misheard it first so played it back. When asked about the pull of the premier league, his first comment was “that’s were the money is”. It may be right in what he said, but I’m not sure if the baggies fans want to hear that is reason he has joined um. :woohoo:

What a journey!I used to work with a lad from Barcelona and apparently that Spanish Primera is like having the top 4 or 5 clubs from the prem league, championship, League One and League two all in the same Division.

What a journey! We don’t want to pish about, get the 1.5 and give chesterfield the 800 grand they want for Cuclas. I was impressed with him during the two games I saw against Preston.

What a journey!Craig Morgan in from RotherhamThat’s two outfield players brought in with a combined age of 62. Didn’t Sharpe say he wanted a young squad of 23-27 year olds?. I can see now how the chippy man failed miserably, he just can’t do the sums. :woohoo:

What a journey! What’s the point of signing anyone if you are going to say they aren’t good enough? Can you define what good enough is in terms of league one.
