The dark clouds are gathering, I’m afraid.

    That’s being optimistic LHL….

The club’s now on life support, which the administrators have said in as many words they will turn off on 1st September unless contracts are signed by then.

If anyone was still in any doubt how bad the situation now is, paragraph 1 of the Administrators’ statement spells it out.

If a deal isn’t signed by 31st August they are shutting us down.

Short of winning the Euro lottery on Friday not sure what we can do about it.

We really are about fecked. Pollard may be our last hope

    Get him signed up :good:

    Cook, Caldwell, Bobby, Jewell….

    Spot the trend!

in reply to: Stadium name #188460

    “The Ben Watson Stadium”

    Good one.

Who could forget the goal he scored against Arsenal to start the comeback win in 2010? :yahoo:

This season no teams blew me away exemption Brentford

They were the best side I’ve seen as well but may not even go up!!!

Brentford deserve to go up far more than Fulham, plus it would wipe the smirk off Parker’s face :good:

Pollard isn’t my cup of tea but I’d sooner have him and/or a consortium lead by him than the current bunch of crooks or anyone associated with them.

Regardless of your feelings about them, no one could argue the Warriors have done well on and off the pitch under Pollard, in contrast to DW offering Hullking Stan Rovers an “incentive” to be relegated in their place FFS.

After today’s announcement, don’t think DW will be in a position to help us (hope I’m wrong there…), beggars can’t be choosers

It hurts badly, and that’s without a scandalous free kick decision.

That ref was a disgrace. He should have changed into a Fulham shirt and removed all doubt

Sadly b) is irrelevant to us now if we don’t get the 12 points reduced/scrapped thanks to Barnsley winning at Brentford

    Signed :good:

in reply to: Goal Difference #187964

Another good result for us tonight with Charlton only getting a draw at Birmingham.

By my reckoning, given our goal difference, that means we are guaranteed to stay up even with -12 pts if we win the last 2 games – Charlton couldn’t catch us and at least one of Hull & Luton can’t catch us on points.
Barnsley will have to win tomorrow at Leeds to be able to overtake us (sounds like an accumulator buster that one!!)

    We can do this…BELIEVE

I thought I’d pressed the wrong button and was watching Barcelona

What a great performance and result…bring on Charlton.

We can do this and tell the EFL to stick their 12 points where Choi sticks his chopsticks.

    BELIEVE

in reply to: Choi now talking #187830

He can stick it where he sticks his chopsticks.

The situation stinks and I felt physically sick when I read the news this afternoon, especially gutting after the way the lads have performed since the restart.

We have 4 very winnable games in the last six. All of us, no exceptions, must get behind the boys more than ever. The future of the club is quite literally at stake. Get the 12 points back on the pitch and tell the EFL where to stick their deduction.

We are Wigan…never give up, give in or surrender

in reply to: Table last year #187332

Last year we won 13 and had 52 points All season, with 7 to play this term we are on 47 with 12 wins The league feels a bit tighter this time but it is looking like we will beat last seasons points and wins. Looks like progression and at the moment it feels like progress which is a very different feeling than a few months ago when a lot (including myself) were calling for Cook to go. I hope my piece of humble pie at the end of the season is enormous and tasty.

After we beat Huddersfield I thought 50 points would do us, now we probably need 52-53 to be safe.

Last season Ipswich and Bolton were cast adrift and Rotherham collapsed at the end; this season 22nd place is up for grabs

I think we will finish 14th :good:

in reply to: Huddersfield Town v Wigan Athletic #187166

Excellent performance and result; continued where we left off.

2 more wins ie 50 points should be enough…up the Tics :good:
