I reckon promotion officially will come on Tuesday night without us having to kick a ball with Walsall not beating Shrewsbury.

That’s how we won promotion last time to the Championship when Bristol City I think drew with Cardiff (or Crewe cant remember  )

And so the miracle journey to the Premier League began. The impossible happened staying there for 8 seasons and as for winning the FA Cup, well, send for the men in white coats for anyone who predicted that

We were managed at the time by an ex player when the journey started….you never know :woohoo:

Believe….the Tics are on the way back. Rejoice tonight chaps

That if bradford beat walsall tomorrow & we win, then we are as good as promoted.

Yep, if when we win tomorrow, if either Burton or Walsall lose, the loser can then at best match us on 84 points.

Given our goal difference, the large old lady will have burst into song, although we will need another point (or the others to drop more) before the spoilsports at the FL will officially declare us promoted

It’s like Maurice all over again!

If Walsall win tonight and win their other game in hand they would be 6 points behind us, which I reckon means we could need 3 more wins for auto promotion (barring a GD collapse).

If Gillingham win or it’s a draw, 2 wins would be enough (GD permitting).

But with Burton on such a bad run, we’re as good as there already.

The bookies seem pretty sure the Tics are going up….

1/7 for the title and 1/41 for promotion. Hang on, Mike Tyson was 1/100 to beat Buster Douglas in Feb 1990 :woohoo: :woohoo:

Works out at £7.78 per game.

Bloody rubbish Wigan. No justification for charging more than £5 per game

Seriously though, let’s hope this puts bums on seats for our only season in the Championship ;)

    Top of the league…..

When were we last top of any league? Off the top of my head after 3 games in the Prem season under Hutchings

Fair play to the Guardian, this was a pretty good story until the bit about the players having to change in marquees until Christmas

    So many missed chances.

    Bloody rubbish Wigan

    Bring on Rochdale….

I’m in a very dark period of my life personally and the Tics have cheered me up no end.. :cheer:

Well it certainly worked. Bloody well done Latics.
Owdham next. Were on a roll now.

We didn’t score 3 though….bloody rubbish Wigan

Things are looking very good, a point off automatic, albeit Walsall with a game in hand. Massive game in 2 weeks at the Bescot….I will be keeping a very close watch on proceedings from Madeira B)

At Christmas, the plan (in my book) was to spend January and February cementing a play off spot then March and April launching an all out attack on the top 2.

Things are looking great at the moment, so a banana skin around the corner no doubt

Any idea when (or if) we last did this post 1978?

Its the first time in our history that this has happened according to the match report on the official site.
Bloody rubbish Wigan
3-0 up at home and not winning

In the best traditions of Bramall Lane let’s run up a cricket score next Saturday ;)

in reply to: Fantastic today #146933

Yes it was a great performance and we can get better (more accurate passing….)

Think I must have missed Grigg’s third

in reply to: Credit to the lads today. #146728

Dorothy and Paddy were great today.

Hardest hit goal at that end since Steven Reid for Blackburn in 2005 I reckon.

A cold, snowy afternoon but no renditions of YAMS….

An old season ticket makes a great scraper or any similar credit card size plastic card, gone in seconds!

Just don’t use this season’s since the club stopped issuing new ones each year.

How inconsiderate for Fil…bloody rubbish Wigan

He can share a cell with Marlon Harewood ;)

Just remember though, before the usual shout of “he was Sh!te”, he did score a Prem Lge hat-trick for us, joining the illustrious company of Henri Camara, later to be joined by the one and only Jordi.

It would have been fitting if he had been convicted of the same offence as Mickey Thomas
