She’s just done the typical MP thing, seen an opportunity to voice her opinion on something and tried to curry favour with her bosses and voting public of Wigan. She is as entitled to anyone to an opinion on wether Malky Mackay is the right person for our club (be it for footballing or other reasons).

Where she is bang out of order is that she has chosen to go public on her views at a point where the only link to us and Malky is that he is an unemployed football manager and we are looking for a new manager. The time to use her political position to comment on Malky becoming our manager is if/when the club confirms he has been invited for interview or indeed offered the job/appointed and even at that point a private letter to the club would be more appropriate.

I thought Labour MPs were all in favour of reducing unemployment

When DW wants her opinion he’ll no doubt ask for it…don’t hold your breath Ms Nandy. How many games has she been to?

Well it was dodgy in the 1st half…plenty of possession, without any real purpose.

Familiar fare really at our 2nd home.

At the interval it was obvious the game needed a goal.

This time Hart was beaten all ends up by a header in that goal there were no cheers from us.

    Then it started.

We actually looked half decent for the last half hour….

The pitch was a disgrace. NFL markings down the side of the pitch (didn’t realise how narrow their pitch was) and lines across it (well we’re used to those :woohoo: )

Lots of kids there, good atmosphere. No ale on sale (effing UEFA rules again  ) Much better playing on a Saturday when more of us can get to the Smoke.

Kerry Packered now…the wife’s asleep on settee. Stayed in same Premier Inn as for semi v Arse…except some w@nker thought it was funny to set the fire alarm off at 1am and 2am….

    Superb goal.

Great corner at the other end as well…

Captain then on the bench next game under Herr Swappenchange…he’s a much greater chance of starting on 22nd under Barrow, Black, McKay, Jones or whoever

4 wins in 27 games It was inevitable

Probably. And I STILL don’t think the football was all that bad. Results were bad, granted. So, I suppose, given that it didn’t look like changing any time soon…
That’s the problem though, the Championship is all about the results, performance second. Unlike the Prem, when we knew we were bound to lose a few games, possibly in succession, the performance was more important sometimes ie not throwing in the towel and getting hammered like at Spurs, Chelsea etc.

You can’t win sometimes as a manager. The Derby result was almost as bad really for Uwe because it showed up that every game in this division is winnable, so why the hell are we in this mess?

    Steve kean ….

I take it that was tongue in cheek Crammy? I’d sooner have Coyle back :woohoo:

    Graeme Jones for me ;)

I’m off to see Argentina v Portugal at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

    Messi v Ronaldo.

    Sounds tasty…enjoy GL B)

I reckon it will be more entertaining than the Wembley fare!

in reply to: James McClean #135389

I see the club made a big thing about Mclean and Maloney potentially facing each other.

The way our luck’s going at the moment what’s the betting Mclean goes clattering into Maloney in one of his red mist type challenges…..Maloney broken leg out for season, Mclean does his ankle in the process…also out for season

The ones who are blindly supporting him may very well be left with egg on their face! One of them even suggested that getting rid of your manager mid season would be folly, well ask the fans of Bolton, Birmingham and Fulham if they think that their respective chairmen have made a faux pas ! If Whelan has indeed backed Rosler then so be it, we will have to put up with him but Whelan shouldn’t be too surprised if this farce continues and he loses a couple more thousand multiplied by say £25 a pop off the gate receipts! I initially thought that he should have been given until the end of November but since then we have gone backwards bar one lucky win ( Yes like it or not but Derby were pretty shit that day! ) and with the international break I think it would be a good time for a change!

Let’s see what happens on 22nd Nov. The attendance ought to hold up well as it’s the first home game for 3 weeks. Let’s see.

DW’s made his call, which obviously is his prerogative as the Chairman.

Uwe will be under ever more pressure every game without a win.

    He’s got to go…tomorrow.

    Enough is enough.

“I take responsibility. I’m not blaming anybody but when we analyse the second half, we gave up. I apologise to the chairman, I apologise to the supporters.

Do the honourable thing then Uwe…jump before you’re pushed. ;)

Personally I don’t want his apologies, I want his resignation….tomorrow.

Oh well, if that’s what you want, that’s it boxed off then.

Who the fuck do you think you are?!!
I take it that’s a rhetorical question (? ;) )

    in reply to: Carson.. #135303

    Totally agree Jon.

The penalty taker is expected to score. The keeper can either “win” or be “neutral”…he can’t lose.

Carson’s been great this season. But that’s the problem. He would hardly touch the ball every game if we were doing as we should

    Two pieces of local knowledge:

Albert’s lawnmower resides in the Lawn Mower Museum @ Southport.

BanglaFusion; about two years ago they were temporarily closed when a dog’s toe nail was found in one of the curries, I believe.

Yes I heard it had gone to the dogs a while ago

The lawnmower museum is a real gem for those at the cutting edge of technology
When I visited I got turfed out.
When you were a nipper you should have listened when your mother told you to eat your greens.

With Middlesbrough, Watford and Norwich coming up it won’t get better any time soon.

Uwe’s neck’s in the noose tonight….just waiting for Pierrepoint Whelan to do the rest

Pierrepoint was the landlord of a pub just up the road from here in Longton, he had a sign above the bar that read ‘No hanging round the bar!’ Bit of true trivia for you there! :)
Indeed, the old Rose and Crown at Much Hoole. It’s now Bangla Fusion restaurant….was there a few weeks back, very tasty.
