I must admit I struggle to understand the mentality of some of our fans. I’ve heard so many people who I consider, and they probably would too, to be diehards that arent going. They’ve spent all season saying Thank God we’re shut of the Premier League, they would prefer another FA Cup win to promotion etc. etc. then turn round and say they are missing Wembley so thay can afford to go to Burnley, Blackburn and last Saturday to Bolton. So depsite all they said previously, they decided to cheer the team on towards a division they don’t want us to be in at the expense of cheering the team on to a cup they claim to want to win again.
Never in a month of Sunday’s did I believe genuine Latics’ fans would be blase about an FA Cup semi final. I find it a bit depressing really.
Going to Wembley should be the priority IMHO. Just never know when/if we will go again, although the prospects look promising for May :cheer:
I was planning to go to Bolton, but missed it to save up for Wembley….
Bet that was an eye opener for the Germans. Welcome to Leigh – Twinned with 1835.
Ha ha!!!
It least it’s not twinned with 1860
Anything that hits the back of the net is a good goal but the City pen was a poor penalty for me , you hit it hard and right in any of the four corners and if the keeper saves it hats of to him , that’s my preference .Easily said typing on here… :S
Hit it hard into the corners greatly increases the chances of missing the target. Straight down the middle will score nearly always…eg Gary Linaker v Cameroon.
Do prefer a bit of power though, wherever it’s hit B)
A good save by the keeper. Fair play to him…
Yeovil penalty was weak.
But both times he hit the target. That’s the first rule of taking a penalty (Chris Waddle anyone
)Maloney number 1 choice if he’s fully fit. Jordi won’t let us down when it really matters ;)
Whilst it is disappointing not to score a penalty, especially that late on, this is exactly the type of game we were loosing under Coyle.
Good set of results otherwise, Ips/Forest drawing, Reading & QPR likewise.
Automatic promotion is all but gone, but was always going to be a long shot. 8 games to go, 5 at home….only ourselves to blame if we don’t nail down a play off spot. I still say if we get in the play offs we will win it…big match experience, big match players….Jordi won’t miss a penalty when it really matters :cheer:
Small, but good staff and reasonably priced
The staff were vertically challenged and were for sale? Sure that’s against the law these days???
:) You need to know where to shop
I’ve heard about those sort of shops; illegal for certain  As ever we will bow to your superior knowledge Griff
I cant make Saturdays game so my wife has agreed to drop off and pick up my 13 year old son and his mate at the Reebok stadium on Saturday.
Anybody know if she is ok to park at the Middlebrook for the duration of the game and do a bit of shopping or is it like Robin park were she risks getting a ticket, many thanks in advance. If she’s parked on there for shopping (and has receipts) then how would the parking Stazi know she was there for match purposes as well ;)
I used to work near the Reebok a few years back. We were allowed to use Asda car park as an overspill…not Tescos.
Bottom line is private parking tickets are unenforceable for a number of legal reasons. You can chuck them in the bin along with any letters “inviting” you to settle up to avoid court…These people are vermin and can be treated as such.
Have a look at http://www.pepipoo.com for further advice.
Got mine as well…all present and correct!
Made up managed to get the exact same 3 seats we had for the Final. :cheer: :cheer:Quite a painless process as well. Beats the hell out of queueing in the pissing rain and the cold for 6 hours !!!! :(
Sure does…
Sorted by 12.25. Took a few minutes to get logged on but straightforward enough. 2 tickets block 501 £50…12 rows lower down than we were for the final…2 blocks nearer to half way line.
We are showing under Uwe we have what it takes to get out of this league. They don’t call it the hardest league in the world to get out of (upwards) for nothing….
We conceded a soft goal against the run of play. Not to panic though, we knew we would hit back….
Last winning run was 8…this winning run I’ll settle for 7 ;)
I walked past the ticket office about 6.15 earlier.2 people with a tent and two chairs already int queue
Methinks there in for a long cold night
Don’t they realise we go to Wembley ever year :woohoo:
But as Sharpys closed in February have the club failed to honour this potential ‘perk’ for the rest of the season!A consequence of Holt leaving; the effect on the takings at Sharpy’s
Announced today…£40 for Leicester, Leeds and Millwall games.
Good move, £13.33 a game when they’re coming thick and fast, or should that be fast, slow and thick ;)
Good to see the club trying to get bums on seats at the business end of the season. So long as no individual ticket is sold for less than a ST holder has paid per game. I paid £315 for WS4 block 26 games…£12.12. What was the cheapest ST this season?
Why not? You bought a season ticket that gave you your guarenteed seat at a price that you were presumably happy with, along with preferential treatment when it comes to ticket sales for cup and away games, etc. It doesn’t give you the right to dictate how the club should sell tickets for other seats.
Indeed, the decision to purchase a season ticket, on pricing grounds, is taken in comparison with individual ticket prices as announced at the time.
The problem comes if say 6 months down the line, the club sells individual tickets for less than ST holders paid. This offer has it spot on, a good deal for non ST’s but still a bit more expensive than ST’s paid. 3 home games in a week is a lot to pay out when the extras add up.
As you say, there are other advantages to season tickets to take into account. Not forgetting the 10% discount at Sharpys
I wouldn’t dream of dictating how the club sells tickets…but all ST holders have a choice to renew or not. I will be there next season of course, but ST renewals are likely to drop if we’re still in the Championship.
Tonight was disappointing and agree it’s 2 points dropped given the defensive errors and missing a penalty. Loosing Perch early didn’t help obviously.
That said, with so many games in such a short space of time, there was bound to be a poor result somewhere. Let’s hope tonight is the only one and move on for Saturday.
On the bright side, QPR lost and with the compacted fixture list we’ve got to pick ourselves up and get on with it. Dropping points to Yeovil, whilst it looks bad at first glance, isn’t ultimately going to cost us as much as dropping points to teams around us. Let’s win at QPR instead :)
Home game for the Gunners then, just how we like it,out numbered were at our best. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:Yes. When all 22807 of us are singing about being the FA Cup
ChampionsHoldersWinners….the Cockneys will be quaking in their boots…or more likely pissing themselves laughing  The latter when we start the chant we learned from our Belgian friends.Arsenal used to play their Champions League games at Wembley a few years back, but Wenger would winge like hell about us having an unfair advantage if the game was at Old Trafford.
4 weeks to go…can’t wait B)
