And they say it rains in Lancashire

Very rare nowadays for matches to get abandoned..last 1 for us was Watford away?

Anyone remember Us V Villa 28/29/30 ish Dec 2007…mega downpour just before ko…

We still got the game on and yet that was at the time the press were saying our pitch was none league… :P :P

    Maribor got Seville

The Mrs lived in Seville for 6 months.

She’s been nagging me to take her back there for years.

Talk about killing 2 birds with 1 stone….thank you Coyle for fooking it up

Even though they had to have Bradley Wiggins sticking his oar in and making false claims that he lives in Wigan.

Didn’t know he’s taken up rowing

At least there were no pictures of mill chimneys and flat caps

He was brilliant today, maybe coyle didn’t know how to bring the best out of him. Long May it continue.

Sharpest he’s looked by a long way since 11/05…

I thought we were playing Bolton tomorrow.

    on the drop.

You could well be right John…(1st point)

Could have sworn it said Horwich on the station when I went home last time. Then again I had a few glasses of lemonade at the ground ;)

I’d say good draw for us.

A home draw against a lower division team is a good draw.

My biggest fear was getting drawn away to a higher Championship team eg Burnley, Leicester and getting stuffed. If we have to go out in the 3rd round then I would have hoped it was against a potential cup winner.

A few all Prem ties as well so not bad at all.

Just checked the odds again, Skybet have Phelan 1/2, Holloway 5/2 the rest nowhere.

Sky are usually pretty well connected ;)

At least no one’s mentioned Gary Megson!!!

Im sure lots of you on here know Darren,(Sits at the back of the East Stand).
When that third goal went in I thought he was going to have a heart attack. He legged it down to pitchside ranting and raving, effin and jeffin, the lad wasn’t happy with Coyle to say the least.
He then ran back up towards his seat whilst ripping off his Latics shirt whilst saying “yer a fucking wanker Coyle, youve made me ashamed to wear the fucking shirt, fuck off Whelan ya tight bastard etc etc”.

He certainly lightened the mood in ES4 with his antics! :P

    Ahh, that’s who I saw yesterday…

Did you see the chap in the centre of the Boston stand run down the stand and start waving his ticket in Coyle’s direction? He wasn’t happy

    Not surprised he wasn’t happy… :(

in reply to: To those who complain about Whelan #124273

    Totally agree Jimmy.

OK most of us wish DW would keep his mouth shut sometimes, but without him we would have played FC Utd not Man Utd this season.

in reply to: Mike Phelan? #124272
Only one thing that doesn’t seem to ring true is; isn’t AF ever present watching moyes?
Popping over to Barbados to see uncle Dave for an over nighter.

    International break?

Doubt he bothered going to watch Scotland

Mike Phelan would be my choice, he must have learned a lot from working with the master.

These are nervous times, getting the right man in this time!

There’s that old saying about “don’t ask, you might not like what you get!” which may well not be lost on DW.

Steve Kean 80/1…from the frying pan and into the fire

in reply to: who does he think he is? #124195
Christ – DW let PJ and RM lose 9 on the trot and stuck with em, and even let Hutchings go for 6 or 7 losses from top spot before pulling the plug.
Like it or not, unless we’re bottom 3, out of Europe AND have just lost our opening FA Cup game to a lower league team…FKW is here to stay.

PJ and RM were given leeway because they had earned it. Coyle has not.

Loosing games in the Premier League, whilst frustrating, was not a surprise. Loosing 3 homes games now is…and we’ve scored ONE away goal in how many away games? I’ve lost count.

PJ & RM also had the support of the fans, Coyle does not. That is the difference.

PJ & RM would not mouth obscenities at our fans. DW does not tolerate bad manners ;)

in reply to: who does he think he is? #124190
Absolute joke with no respect, read his comments on the fans…

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25074344

    Get him out now !

I suspect DW had already had “a word” with Coyle before he made the comments.

Something along the lines of “my office, tomorrow for a chat”.

Please Mr Whelan do the decent thing and send Coyle on his way for his own sake. Don’t let this become Steve Kean mark 2. He has lost the confidence of the fans and the players. Did you see Coyle ranting at McClean and he just ignored him?

in reply to: Coyle on his way tonight? #124176

This is what Coyle said about us….(taken from the BBC website)

“The expectation can only come from being in the Premier League because it’s not as if Wigan Athletic have been winning games every week for four or five years, far from it.

“If people want to be ultra critical that’s the nature of football these days. I’m old enough to deal with that. If they think there’s something better that’s all well and good.”

So that’s Coyle’s opinion, and this is mine….

    Coyle OUT tomorrow.
