Shrewsbury are just another of those teams: “what have they ever won” ?

Well it amounts to Th’owd third divison champions, league 3 champions and a smattering of Welsh Cup wins.

No comparison with the Mighty Tics :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I said when we lost at Shrewsbury that they wold be lucky to make the play offs, and I will stick by it. Had the referee and his side kicks seen the incident above and given the penalty (and possibly a yellow card) the score line and table would look very different now.

I was sat right behind the lino that didn’t give that and was dumbstruck as to how he didn’t give it as he had clear sight of it and was looking right at it…. he just looked over at the ref and carried on.

But I am sure the ‘it’ll all work out over the season’ brigade will say it will all work out over the season.

I would rather they just make the right decisions.

The look on their defenders face, in the background, says it all ! He’s thinking OMG it’s a nailed on pen.

in reply to: Cook Diatribe in the dugout #164652
Anyone sit close enough to the dugout to hear the diatribe Mr Cook comes out with during the course of a game.
If he could put as much energy into analysing how the game is progressing rather than ranting and raving with the fourth official and his opponents counterpart we might end up snatching a win or two against teams who come and shut up shop.We were poor last night,
It all looks rather childish from my seat and yet another frustrating result.

Maybe you would prefer Bobby Brown Shoes, arms folded, tip tap on the I pad and no emotion !!! AKA Latics Vs Swansea and staring relegation in the eye !!!

One of their obvious strategies was to goad Nick Powell into retaliation, and collect a yellow or red card. With Powell absent for potentially three games they would be hoping to damage our points haul over that period. Call me cynical, but it was obvious and Cookie should have briefed his key players to be mindful of such sly tactics.

For me, the Paul Jewell era was definitely one of our best; but even Paul Jewell said that it was only a handful of games when everything clicked into place and we looked like Brazil ! So let’s be happy to be top of the league with plenty left in the tank !

Brilliant; turning out to be a good season; maybe one of the best in the last 15 years. So let’s not have any moaning and just enjoy the fact that we are the second most “in form” team in the country ( behind Man City )!

And we could have moved to Skelmersdale :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thanks GL & VAT, some good advice there; sounds like a great experience !

If you go any time near Christmas; try the roast goose at Dicke Wertin ( one of the oldest pubs in Berlin ).

    James in for Elder
    Grigg in for Toney
    &
    Colclough in for Massey

    Spot on HORC.

    I’d also recall Callum Lang.

Had to pop into Chorley yesterday lunch time. It was nice to see the “Blacked up Morris Men” dancing and raising money for Children in Need. Everyone was enjoying the spectacle and they didn’t get chased out of town. Bloody dangerous though, with those sticks; nearly had mi’eye out :woohoo:

Message for Papa: didn’t see you there. Thought this would be right up your street !

Just opened my present this morning. Ally that’s fantastic.
So grateful and thanks for coming last night.
Even the wrapping paper is ready and waiting in the toilet Sir.

Every Latics fan should have some Warriors toilet paper !

Could be onto something there !

in reply to: AFC Fylde Tickets #163264

Since I have a PR5 postcode, I’ll tootle on up to their ground and purchase the odd ticket. Well it worked for me and HORc when we sent Rovers down ( chicken on the pitch game ) and we were int the home end tek’in piss ( and I found a tenner on’t way out !

Why don’t we start a moan ( tongue in cheek ).

That’s not fair, it should be ST holders of 40 years or more get first dibs; ST holders of 30 to 40 years, second dibs; etc.

or anyone outside a Wigan postcode gets first dibs, cos they travel furthest to home games, etc.

Can’t please em all

Anyway, thought I’d steal a march on our perennial moaners.
