I have just looked at the ‘Latics Legends’ squad for the match, and I don’t think they would have done any worse than this seasons squad in the Championship.
Do you fancy it next Friday, Mr HORC.
I’m up for it if you are !It certainly clicked for Bobby when it mattered I thought we were superb in the final but that was his Achilles heel consistency. Overall I would have PJ’s Latics all day and the shed full of goals we scored. But as you rightly say preference.
People would rather watch a team win than lose? Hold the presses!!
Only jokng, those sides we had under Jewell were class and just had a desire to win no matter what.
Always remember conceding against Notts County in the 90th minute in a game we were 3-0 up in but as it was the first goal we had conceded in something like 9 games John Filan, Jason De Vos and Matt Jackson were all clearly irate at the fact they had scored.
Correct Eggy, PJs team showed real desire in most games; none so more that the Sheffield United finale. I was physically & emotionally exhausted after that game ! Probably more so than the Cup Final.
So, Eggy & Nuneaton I’m with you on the PJ Era.
Not much hope but would prefer him over any of your list. Nathan Jones sounds like a strong candidate and he would rule Supreme. In fact the Supremes have already made a song about him. Subliminal, that one Donny.
Look at my Avatar;
What game was that photo from ?
What formation did we play that day ( that season, in fact )?
How many strikers did we have on the pitch that day ?
In a must not lose game, did we got for it or take the softly, softly cautious approach ?That season, we went home with sore throats and exhausted after thrilling games !
It’s definitely somebody on your list of “oh No’s”
Standing here now on the concourse with a pint reflecting on this lorry crash of a season there is one positive today….
It’s a nice day
Me too, just noticed the loan signings in again, proves one thing about clauses in contracts doesn’t it?
Really disappointed with the inclusion of the loan players today, not to mention the one up front in this winner takes all friendly.
Pardew hates Wigan Latics and doesn’t care too much for the North of England, either.
Don’t think we are going to be over excited, to be honest.
Think you’re wrong on that one VatSoixanteNeuf
He has also played at the DW stadium for more than one team.
If Sharpie is reading; how about this: on ordering our season tickets by debit or credit card, the club only debit our respective cards after each home win, over the course of the season. Oh, I forgot to mention: all cup ties at home are FOC.
He has been linked with us in previous searches for a Manager in recent years.
TBH our next Manager has been in the stands for the last few weeks !
Let’s see who has been observant:
I hope we play a radical formation, like 4 4 2 :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Cos we’ve nowt to lose and the suffering fans deserve an exhibition of football !
Arry de Zeeuw, for me !
