On Thursday of last week, it was in the media that Rotherham are interested !
Makes the mind boggle, all this transfer malarkey.
Best performance for quite a while. That said, Forest were awful.Let’s hope we can continue as today…agree Morsy made the difference with Gomez when he came on….and the Fire has been rekindled :woohoo:
Who do we want in the draw tomorrow? A lower league side and see how far we can get or ManUre etc next round? As usual, we’ll probably get another team from our division….I’m betting Derby away
Nah, I bet it’s Millwall away !
Don’t seem to be many who want to give credit when it’s due.
Are you going to be gracing us with your presence tomorrow owd lad.
Get yer sen down t latics and let’s get em over’t finishing line to three points and kick start our season to an FA Cup Win and Championship survival! This bloody Courvoisier is slipping down a treat. See ya tomorrow             :evil:I can understand to a certain extent the Latics fans who may have purchased them for the European games a few years back as they were one off fixtures which are not likely to ever take place again, but for FA Cup games against so called ‘big teams’ which could happen any year is a bit sad.I suppose when you are a ‘big club’ like us, who have played all the other ‘big clubs’ so many times over the last few years it wouldn’t feel like a big game anyway.
Little clubs like Knob End, who only witness playing the ‘big clubs’ occasionally will be able to dress themselves up like xmas trees when they come out of the woodwork and dream for a day at least, what it must be like to be a ‘big club’. Maybe the had PNE/Latics split scarves earlier in the season.
Lets face it, the memories of the last time they had any success must have faded completely by now, so a home tie against Arsenal will revive memories of their 1899 Division One success when 16 teams competed in matches with no referees, crossbars or proper rules.
Let them have their day in the spotlight with their Arsenal scarves donned around their necks, they’ll look so cute.
Anyone want a Latics/Forest split scarf? I thought not.
Good reply Mr HORC
Well we went with two strikers yesterday so will you be going to the Forest game now Lostock?Depends how we shape up in’t next two games
Also if you look at the highlights Rotherham scored three right flukey goals. Another day none of them would have gone in. We also had Ronald and Diesel missing in midfield.
Watch out Derby and Huddersfield.Hope you are reet, Donny.
Why would you not attend games if we sold “the very inconsistent” yanic. Jees man. Grow up!!Don’t you mean. grow up and realise that the ownership of Wigan Athletic have lost the last bit of ambition that they had :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
and
If Janic is inconsistent; then what about the rest of the squad ?
Sniffing around means nowt, we don’t have to sell its not compulsory!Yes but suppose we did; then what sort of message does that portray !
Bobby won the cup brilliantly with the most un Bob like formation and performance. Espinoza on one flank and Macca on the other tore City apart in the first half and they simply didn’t have the answer. It has to go down as one of the most complete performances ever by the Latics. I’ll never tire of watching the game over and over. Greatest day of my life still get goosebumps thinking about it.
It was exactly the same formation used for most of the season!
The difference was the players were fired up for the game more so than they seemed to be for a rest of the season.
What rubbish, we played totally different in that match and the previous matches against Millwall, Everton and Huddersfield. It was like another manager had come in and given the team talk.
The players will have been fired up, of course they would, but the attacking way we played in those matches was so much different from what we had seen all season.
If Bob had put his mind to it, and forgot about his boring tippy tappy, secure the point you already have tactics a bit earlier in each of the seasons we struggled under him, we would have had a more successful PL life, and would probably have stayed up. Afterall, if you can beat Man City in the Cup Final there was certainley no need to fear anyone else.
Spot on HORC; think you last sentence is so so true.
Its got fuck all to do with money how much Newcastle and Villa have spent we have always been in a different league throughout the clubs proud successful history. This is about piss poor managers sucked in by the Continental infestation of the Premier league and its cockeyed formations. When we were relegated from the greed league we should have gone back to basics. Instead we have persevered with this wing back one up top bullshit when we don’t have players skill full enough to play the roles. I’m sick of people thinking that 4-4-2 is just about having twin strikers. It isn’t we are expecting below average players to be Kenny Sansome one minute and Chris Waddle the next. Drop this wing back dross and put the lads back in their comfort zone and defend as a four. We have basic players so we should be playing it basic and until someone at the club has the balls to admit we are no longer at that level this nightmare will continue. Cloughie always said it was a simple game, not any more. Its in our DNA to battle against the odds and we are the greatest club at doing it so lets get back to being Latics and drop this pathetic boring tactic of trying to keep up with the Joneses.
Well said Ste.
Post of the Year award to you.
I’ll second that !!!
How many times have we had that conversation on the way to the match !!!
Now there’s a story.
Last time we went to Barrow, we had at least seven in Donny’s car.
And on the way back it was an eventless journey for six of us.Only seven points behind KNOB END, now !
Fickle some footy fans..Still can’t understand why PNE have been doing so well as they were crap against us. Just goes to show how quickly we could move up this table when we improve!
Spot on Jimmy.
Knob End were crap against us and didn’t deserve three points.
I will love it ( Kevin Keegan style ) if we finish above them; and if they were to be relegated it would turn out to be a brilliant season   :evil:On taking over Latics from Steven Gage in the days I used to turn up on a Friday with samples of line marking paint and mark the pitch out at Springy in the pissing down rain because Pinchy had no paint left Dave said he was going to make Wigan Athletic a Premier League club. He did it. Dave delivered his promise. He not only delivered it but also gave Latics eight years of taking the piss. He put Wigan on the world sporting map. Took us to a league cup Final. Won the FA Cup. Took us to a FA Cup semi final and to the Championship play-offs. That’s not to mention building us a fine stadium. Dave is a legend and I for one have a such a lot of gratitude to him for this. For egg fans in Wigan he even saved them. Thankyou Dave, thankyou so much. Wigan Council and GMP you should follow this with an even bigger statue in the town centre for the millions Dave has put in your coffers.Don’t forget our European Tour !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just like the idiocy that goes on in the European Parliament; absolute disgrace !
