and at £18 a tonne dearer than last year as well
I couldn’t resist it – taken from http://www.saltsense.co.uk/aboutsalt-env01.htm “The proven UK salt reserves are extensive, with an estimated 500 years capacity at current extraction rates.”
b a s t a r d salesmen
i bought double with a re-order at the end of jan because of this smooth talking lying f e c k e r
Where’s loudmouth? Surely he can supply sufficient hot-air to help us in our hour of need.
I’ve already got a fiver on him being the first to blame the lack of grit on the Spanish One
i was told by one of our suppliers just the other day there is a world shortage of the type of unrefined rock salt needed for gritting and we as a country have nearly exhausted our natural reserves of the stuff so we import the majority.
where from you might add ?
well some salt marsh area in spain !!!
i kid ye not.
and standish despite my undoubted ability to produce hot air(like the majority on here)even i can’t produce enough to keep warm at the moment.
well there’s your task for tomorrow, count how many times and we will compare notes on tuesday, dont give me that “i’m not that sad rubbish either” you will not be able to resist counting tomorrow.
You have to be kidding, mate! I’d rather nail my foot to the floor.
Plus, I’ll be starting my pre-match entertainment about 1pm and will be in no fit state to count, or even stand.
i know what you mean,i now find i need to be in a semi drunken stupor just to motivate myself into going watching the rubbish being served up by the ‘spanish one’.
ive been waiting for someone to come out with this perceived rubbish, the addage if people say it long and loud enough the masses will start to believe it seems to have taken effect on you
If you knew me, by the way, you would know that i don’t really let anyone elses views or opoinions get in the way of my own, so I would have to say you have judged this wrong.
You are just like the wife – making assumptions about how I think and what I do, and getting it hopelessly wrong most of the time. :)
that is not aimed at you in particular but i am sick of this “football martinezesk style “is good when in fact it is pretty awful, lethargic and at times down right boring, most have bought into the ‘we dont knock it long theory’ but thats all that bramble and figgy do.

so are you telling me that this 50 sideway passes without one telling foward pass is pretty ?
Take your usual hysterical exaggeration out of it and I would say yes it is, certainly prettier than full backs and goalkeeper lumping it as far and high as they can at every given opportunity.
I’m not saying we are very good at it yet, but i prefer it, yes.
i watched a recording of the the full game against liverpool yesterday, and noticed we were passing back to kirkland alot and hoofing it upfield so me being the sad barsteward i am i watched again at 4X speed and counted how many times we did it well it was 26 times, now is that more or less than bruce’s teams did ?
Well, we can’t agree on everything, can we?
I just don’t see why a side HAS to play a ‘set style’.
Surely you need to adapt and change……
Just ask Mick McCarthy. :D
I’m not referring to not being able to change tactics. I have said many times that – in my opinion – the football we played under Bruce was awful and I would rather lose 4-3 or 3-2 trying to play prettily than watch that.
we’ll not go into the snail pace that we move the ball about as well, some of the long ball stuff last season was not very good, but we seem to do it just as much as soon as the heads have dropped.
sparky sacked at city, been saying to my lad he will be gone for new year
do you think if he turns up for our game on monday the spanish one or owd ginger should be worried.
Loudmouth….I’m not criticising here, but have you been watching Wigan for a while? The reason I ask is that you constantly use disparaging phrases to describe Martinez, or, simply refer to him as the ‘Spanish One’ or similar.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but for anyone who watched him in his playing days, it would be difficult to be disrespectful towards him (perhaps that could possibly cloud the judgement for people like myself).
Do you not respect the fact that we have a young manager who is still learning, and who is trying to do something different at Wigan? Yes he has made mistakes, but there have been good performances. Also, he is the first manager for an awful long time who is genuinely happy to be at the club.
Every manager favours players he has worked with in the past (for a examples look at Bruce bringing ex-Birmingham players with him, and even Jewell with ex-Bradford players), and granted, Scotland and Gomez have not yet lived up to their pre-season hype.
The aim for this season is to stay up and then build from that next season, so can we not wait until May and then judge if he is ‘clueless’ etc. then?
hang on a minute i’ll get my hanky out and dry my eyes,
you say its the first time in ages we have someone “genuinely happy to be at the club”
isnt that what the swansea fans were led to believe, they have been /are all happy until something better comes up.
yes i have many issues with the current set up i actually think he has not got a clue and nothing from the stuffings at norwich pre season ,at blackpool ,pompey and spurs or anything in between has changed my mind, martinez and his negative tactics lost us the game at anfield against the worst liverpool team for 40 years.all i seem to hear is how bad bruce was and how good this pretty passing stuff is,well if you think 50 sideways passes and then pass it back for bramble to knock a 50 yard diagonal pass straight into touch is quality god help us,teams dont even bother to tackle us any more they just wait until we have fiddled about with it for 5 minutes and then give them the ball back.
i do have sympathy with martinez because i honestly believe he is a pawn in whelans bale out/down sizing plans, but niether him his backroom staff or any players he has signed, well perhaps diame are good enough and with the loss of a few more big earners/senior pro’s in january, and the signing of a few more of bobs bargain buys, the whelan master plan is bearing fruition.

I’ll try and get it going with the V100s in the West but I’m afraid it’s doomed to failure. 1) we’d never remember the words and 2) we are surrounded by the passengers of the Variety Club Sunshine Coach.
Griff, I too sit in the section that is regarded as the Eastbourne of the DW Stadium. In the sober light of day, I think the lyrics are a little too intricate, so I’ll suggest that the first two lines are sung over and over and over again.
dont knock it, my kids got us to move to es2 and that drum is driving me insane its turned my brain to mush, all i seem to do in life now is moan on fanzine message boards
i always used to use the water method,1st jug always cold straight from the tap and gradually use warmer, trouble is the residue left on the drive freezes in hard frost, that once resulting in torn ligaments in my knee when i went arse over tit so i have used the scraper ever since.
perhaps “pon – say”, isn’t that how spanish pronounce ‘ce’
then again with a minus 18 goal difference with 38 goals let in less than half the season i think how to pronounce someones name is the least of our worries.
he’d feel at home in orrell this morning it was cold enough, snow on top of ice 20 minutes to scrape the car window
yes i’m sure he would feel at home –
then again do you think footballers scrape there own car windows in the morning or does the club send someone out to do it for them like they do with everything else in their sheltered lives ?
Of course, I don’t like the perceived one-in, one-out policy. We should be adding better players to our squad, not swapping some out.spot there griff do you think andy saville is still available he would complement jason scotland no end.
