Here’s a simple solution: if you find the football on display not to your taste, or if the players are not trying hard enough, don’t go to games, and go back to supporting Wigan RL, Liverpool, Man U, Brazil or whoever it was prior to 2004.
Or, we can carry on in the same moronic way, and end up like Newcastle with the better players wanting to leave en mass and nobody of any quality wanting to sign.
We can only muster up an average gate of under twenty thousand, and those we do get through the gates boo their own team. I can see the stars of world football queuing to sign for Wigan.
so is the football on display up to “your taste” ?
Please only post on this topic if you have something positive to say.I’ll start…N’Zogbia was brilliant again against Blackburn. Also the way we fought back from 1-0 down was very encouraging.
my bet that jason scotland would not score for us this year is looking pretty safe.
Towards relegation?I went to the Blackburrrn game from Frog Lane. The road just before you got under the railway bridge was like an ice rink. People were falling over everywhere you looked. Suprising that no one from the club or council had thought to put at least a bit of grit down there. It was surely worse than the other night
On a positive note. I’m sure that Scotland will score some time soon. Nzogbia looks pure quallity. Hugo was a great buy. Man Utd look quite vunerable at home these days.
playing us at the right time then-nothing like a game against wigan athletic to boost the confidence.
we sign in the transfer window ?Loans or permanents ?
Who would walk over broken glass to sign for Wigan ?
Who should we get rid off ( please be sensible ) ?truth is we cant get rid of anyone
contracts issued to them are not going to be as good if they move on.
the problem we have is the signings made so far ,our league position and the fact that senior players will go if they get the chance we will only sbe able to sign second rate swansea players or south/central americans who dont know how dire the outlook is at the dw stadium.
He is nowhere near as bad as Aghahowa was. He’s creating chances – he’s getting shots in – they’re just not going in.
When he gets one he’ll be fine.
… and if we don’t play him then who do you suggest we put up front?he cant head a ball,he cant run, his positional sense for a striker is non-exsistant.
you ask “and if we don’t play him then who do you suggest we put up front?”
cant really argue with that ,but can you explain to me how the spanish one can justify putting him in midfield yesterday when rodders went up front ?
or are you suggesting he is better than what we have in that position as well.
Will you ever accept that we are a small club with limited resources and the players need some support and not constant moaning and criticism?Scotland isn’t as bad as you are making out. I agree he’s not up to the standard of Drogba or Rooney but get yourself a reality check.
This club doesn’t need people like you.
the moaning and criticism only takes place on message boards,he has had an easy ride no-one has had a do at him during a matches.
Have to agree with loudmouth here, Constant lack of effort should deserve a boo every now and again, that first half was a very half hearted performance and warranted some displeasure being shown. After all they came out fighting second half so it did serve some purpose.personally myself i didn’t boo,i never boo,and dont think it is ever productive,i scream and shout all the game even at our own players but never boo,(having said that i did boo chimbonda)i just said some may think that booing is deserved, the only issue i have with anyone at the club is martinez who in my opinion once again yesterday showed what an inept manager he is.

did jason scotland win it by any chance, because his impression of a footballer is quite good.
Anyone else hear the booing at half time and even a few at full time?Out of order whoever it was.
On a related note, two great receptions for two former great players today as well, although a major contrast. Chimbonda got what he always gets and fully deserves and then a great reception for Jason Roberts, also just what he deserved.
some may thing the booing was deserved, one thing for sure is more and more people are waking up to the fact, that the spanish ones pretty football revolution is a myth.
get down to the DW with your salt and shovels.
No salt required here, it’s going to be 35 degrees in Perth today (it’s already Christmas Day here). Nice as that may sound, I do miss the cold. Just a bit…….
All the best to one and all from down under.

flippin heck ian ive been on that road that you have used for your avatar pic,i went on a visit to the margaret river winery’s, and once spent new years eve in manjimup god that was a one horse hick town -but that was nearly 20 years ago.
22 December 2009 at 11:13 pm in reply to: Our club is a joke but for once i am happy they are #15896can someone please tell me where the snow was to be cleared from to make it all safe ?
yes around the tarmaced area closest to the ground we all agree then where else ?
so me coming from orrell i want all the roads from pem, down worlsey hall, and the car parks facing the cinema clear oh and in front of frankies so i can nip in for a pint, what good is that for people from beech hill/springfield area,so they want frog/woodhouse lane cleared, pagefield industrial estate(which is private by the way)then the best one yet the canal towpath, then theres the footbridge over the canal, then again maybe the ice ont cut would be thick enough to be able to skate across to the stadium, then those from shevvy or standish carparks near the soccerdome need to be clear,im not even going ito them that walk from wigan or come by car from that direction, then theres the ashton goose green lot-it goes on and on
the powers that be -the club-police-highways agency and council will have all talked and come to the only possible conclusion
take a look at the chaos all over today it just happened we were the first to be tested.
Ellington’s future was doomed when he got married and converted to Islam during the 2004 – 2005 season. I will state here that that isn’t intended as a racist comment, far from it in fact, as I am respectful towards anyone who has that much faith in a belief or cause (cue comments regarding Martinez and 4-5-1…).For the past four years since 2005, Ramadan has fallen towards the latter part of the year, or more specifically, the start of the football season and during Ramadan, Muslims are not permitted to eat during daylight hours. In Islam, exceptions can be made for professional sportsmen (it is a religion that has lots of ‘No, no, never, oh, go on then’), but with Ellington as a new convert, he, without a shadow of doubt, would have observed Ramadan.
With that in mind, is it any wonder that on moving to each new club he has played for since leaving Wigan, it has been commented on that he seemed lazy and lacking in any energy or determination? The lad has started every season running on empty. There are Muslim footballers who can perform well during Ramadan, but Ellington had not grown up with a yearly Ramadan, and his body is not as acclimatised to it. Saying that, I used to work with a Muslim lad who fasted every year, and who played a good standard of Hockey. His team got battered during Ramadan every year because three quarters of them hadn’t eaten during the day, and he freely admitted that it was a practice that was definitely not suited to professional sport.
So, that’s my take on what happened to Ellington, and although the breakup of the partnership with Roberts was part of it, I’m sure the timing of his new found faith and dip in form wasn’t mere coincidence.
i may expell the odd breath of hot air as you accussed me of in another post on here, but standish you could run a 50 megawatt power station on the methane coming from the s h i t e you talk.
At least Loudmouthblue backs up his views with some decent, debatable points. You’re just not worth bothering with.
Pineapple head? Grow up
i dont tend to critisise invidual players as a rule,as i honestly believe that its not their fault they are not good enough(although both gomez and scotland have dragged the worst out of me this season) my beef and always has been is poor management, and as far as i am concerned we have that in abundance with the ‘spanish one’
and at £18 a tonne dearer than last year as well
I couldn’t resist it – taken from http://www.saltsense.co.uk/aboutsalt-env01.htm “The proven UK salt reserves are extensive, with an estimated 500 years capacity at current extraction rates.”
b a s t a r d salesmen
