Completely with Griff on this one.
It’s one thing to speculate who may be in the team on Saturday. We can discuss whether X ot Y deserve a place, whether the Manager will change his mind abou tplayers or systems etc etc.
It’s however totally pointless to speculate how a random draw will work out.
If you want to do that, try the Lottery instead.
Agreed.
A better question would be, who do you want to get in the next round?
I would play him as the central of the midfield 3 with orders to be as creative as possible. If we defend for 90 minutes, a minimum of 4-0 is nailed on in my view so we may as well go down with a fight. I’d prefer 2-8 to 0-4, to be honest** unless our 2 come right at the end when Chelsea are down to 8 men having rested almost a third of their team for the next match
Central, as in just behind the striker, not just in front of the back four?
We’re going to need some steel in the middle and he just doesn’t give us that.
I would seriously consider playing Gomez. Not for his ‘slide rule’ passes, but because he attracts so many fouls. As someone else said, Saturday is going to be backs to the wall time, so a few free kicks to slow things down/break things up could be just what we need.
As for N’Zogbia, it’s doing my head in.
He’s obviously our best player by far and so I want him in our team and staying with us. I even think there’s a chance of it happening, at least until January. If he plays Saturday, but with a poor attitude, it could put others off him. If he plays with an “I’m in the shop window” attitude, he might just earn his move. However, with so little time left of the transfer window it might all be too late for him.
I know he has a reputation for petulance, but until recently he appears to have been a model pro for us and even expressed his gratitude to Wigan for taking him in the first place.
He might just remain with us for one more window and try to earn his move.
Good luck Jay, I’ve sponsored ya too.
Phone box advertising is really good.
I’ve picked up many interesting business cards from in phone boxes over the years, each offering a fine service. ;)
Lets be fair dave, its the only way your going to get a lady……
Married matey.
OK then, it’s the only way you’re going to get sex
I don’t mind the music after goals are scored, but not at the end of the game.
I want to sing and hear the rest of the crowd when we win, not the PA system!
And there’s nothing different between the app and the website so far as I can see.
It’s only £2.39 if you want see the video content i think. Basic news is free. I think once you subscribe it’s actually £2.39 per month!!Bit rich for my tastes to be honest
Are you sure?
It’s £2.39 to download the app then when you try to view video you’re blocked until you subscribe. It actually states you need a premium tv mobile subscription.
The £2.39 is a one-off fee for the app.
…we could upset a few people this time.Yep, mainly the ones from the dark side on here.
Oh, and Dave will be on saying that whilst he had his doubts at first, in all honesty, he always knew Roberto would come good!
Still waiting.

West stand? Just under the Sky TV studio?
Me and my lad comment on it almost every game. Refer to it as our ‘lucky Irish flag’ despite the results we’ve had! Always wondered who it belonged to.
Good odds on winning then ;)
You’re right.
You’re not funny.
Just been reading an article on Sky Sports website.
They interviewed the winner of their fantasy football league and asked him for his top tip for the season ahead.
“I won’t be picking any Blackpool defenders” was the reply.I’d be interested to see Holloway’s fantasy team ;)
1978 beating Sheffield Weds (my first memory of a Latics game)
1980 Tommy Gore at Chelsea (and the day off school)
2005 Reading at home (yes, I cried)
2007 Sheffield Utd (oh the relief on that final whistle)
2010 Arsenal at home (what a comeback! Just pips the 5-3 win over Port Vale back the early 80s)I can’t list the League Cup semi final game at Highbury as I left 10 minutes before the end and the final was a great experience but totally forgettable game!
