Straight after the game scarves were put in carrier bag, the lad’s shirt was tucked in, coat zipped up, flags off poles and folded up into coat pockets, poles left in stadium. It’s Millwall and I wasn’t taking any chances. We had to walk to Wembley Park and get on tubes/trains with them. Not a pleasant bunch of people.

Beer on tap (9GBP a throw mind!),

    Cheaper than Wembley then :)

£4.70 for a pint of Budweiser, wasn’t it?

I spent nothing on food and drink all day, due to us taking our own. Might sample a burger at the final, though £8.50 for burger and chips in a box was expensive. Plenty folk paid the prices though, I was surprised at people supping their ‘five pound pints’ in a plastic glass.

Anyway, I’ve got home and I’ve only won the bloody lottery! What a day!

It’s not really free though, is it Standish?

Ok, I’ve won a tenner. I can treat myself to burger and chips at the final! :D
Free drinks and food in Club Wembley. Another bottle of wine? Don’t mind if I do….
Obviously just me then

    I’ll watch it again sober!

In fear of starting a ‘debate’, do people genuinely believe that this country could have kept a mining industry, paid the miners what the unions were demanding, keep prices competitive with China and other emerging nations AND turned a profit from it?

Just asking because a lot of people seem to be blaming her for the demise of the industry.

    1. Was it not a deteriorating sector that had it’s end coming long before Thatcher got to power?

    2. Is it not a good thing that we don’t send our kids down the mines anymore?

I’m far from a Thatcherite, I disagree with the way in which she went about getting quite a lot of things, not to mention the poll tax. I just refuse to buy into this hate campaign created by the extreme left wing.

Take a look at your life and your house at this moment in time. Would you be able to afford your current lifestyle if things hadn’t have changed?

    Bring on the controversy! :P

That’s all good and well but at what price?

She gambled the lives of families all over the country for the sake of the economy.

The economy didn’t pay for my overpriced house or the ridiculous amount of deposit I needed to buy a 2 bedroom terraced house that was built 100 years ago originally for *drum roll please* THE MINERS!!!!!

What built my house 100 years ago was the working class and what pays for it now is my working class upbringing not a massive upturn in the economy sending my rich daddies savings through the roof!

Best comments of the day I have seen are ” you wouldn’t have these lazy people milking benefits if thatcher wad around today ”

Bollox she sent families all over the country into generations of unemployment but it wasn’t an upturn in the economy that put food on the tables was it.

People need to take the daily mail out of their arse and realise the benefit system is there to protect you through the rough times and by the time Cameron has done the people throwing their toys out the pram today coz they work full time will be the people with no state pension, no NHS and no sick pay when they are 60 riddled with cancer and arthritis because they have been working all there life to sustain the riches lifestyle of massive private pension funds , perfect private healthcare and a life of luxury doing fuck all 5 days a week while the minions pick up the shit.
I think I agree with with some of that, but haven’t a clue what that last paragraph is all about? How do you get a massive private pension fund without putting your own money into it, or get private healthcare without paying for it?

40 minutes and still no responses coming your way. Either, the responses are so long and hate filled that they’re taking a long time to write, or … they’re all just gathering down the end of your road.

And another thing, when Maloney scored that wall was about six yards away. And the one just before it was the same. Dowd marched them back ten and let them stay two yards short of where he’d told them to stand, then they crept up another yard or two.

Hated him since that first season when he blatantly favoured Arsenal at Highbury.

Just a guess here but maybe Eaststander sits in the east stand and in block E4 and was inviting you for a natter fil, could be wrong mind

I’m there every home game ! Is a natter a euphemism ? Like I said I am there every home game ! ;)
FFS You are pissed. His name is East Stander meaning he sits in the East stand at the DW stadium.

He is not, I repeat not, an eastender!

Come on Fil, get with it. He sits in block E4 !!

Stoke for me, what a vile bunch of bastards they are !

Wouldn’t mind seeing the back of some of ours!
I hope that wasn’t aimed at me !
Statement or question?
Sorry, I missed out my question mark and chose to put my customary exclamation mark with a space after the last character instead ! You know as most on here will know that it was indeed a question ! I know the answer by the way ! ;)
Really? Go on then…
Me ! ha ha ha ! It is sort of rhetorical with hindsight ! Or may be I am just drunk ! :)
Well, I am certainly drunk. Bottle of red wine did for me tonight.

And no, it really wasn’t aimed at you. You at least contribute to this board. It’s those who whinge and moan repeatedly that get on my tits, starting multiple threads or never here until something goes wrong.

I used to be a keeper and our keeper’s positioning bearing in mind the circumstances was poor !

Something we have in common Fil. I too used to be a ‘keeper.

So in theory two shyte performances against Norwich and QPR but gained 4 points

Yep, but earlier in the season Bobby was slated on here when, after we’d played well and lost, he praised our performances and accentuated the positives fromth game. Now we are getting the results despite playing poorly and guess what, same folk are moaning about the performance!

The Club Wembley seats were always going to be pretty much empty as they are for all but the “big” games
That bit holds 16,000 so knock the capacity down to 76,000

Millwall & Latics got 62k so 14k are left to God knows who – in all likelihood the max attendance even if both clubs sold out was only ever going to be just over 60,000 anyway as it’s hardly a game to drag in the neutrals or persuade the hoity toitty’s to shimmy on down Wembley Way

Not that that’s stop the media having a dig – if it was anyone other than latics the focus would be on cost, kick off times etc.. As it’s Latics involved we all know what the focus will be

I happen to be one of the ‘hoity toitty’ as I have four club Wembley seats. Not actually using them for this game though as I have more than four family members going and we all want to sit together, so I’ve had to stick my hand in my pocket and buy a couple of tickets. I have put them up for sale at the lowest price through club wembley’s resale facility. No chance of selling them as the lowest price is £129 per ticket. I’ll listen to sensible offers from anyone on here though (cue Griff laughing at the thought of a sensible reply on here) ;)
