He could get a taxi from station to the bridge over the canal near the burger vans

    Spot on that advice. Thanks.

The lad’s game was delayed 15mins, so didn’t leave the pitch ’til 12.15.
25 minutes later he’s on the train to Crewe still wearing his football boots and kit!

Got into Wigan at 2.40. Taxi took us through the industrial estate to the canal bridge and we were in our seats to see the teams come out.

Mind, any more late kick offs like today and he’s spending Saturday afternoons shopping with his mum!

Be honest with yourselves and tell me what we will ever win? We can forget the league, forget the FA cup and forget the Carling cup as we obviously don’t want to win it playing reserves. The attendances are poor, but worse than that the actual support is non existant. We don’t invest and really have no future? Is there any point to it anymore or should we accept defeat and just wrap up?

I am getting back to the ‘not having anything good to say’ stage

I expect us to win some games every now and then.

If it’s trophies you’re after this is the wrong club for you. Maybe your confusing us with your other team? Is it a throwback to the glory days watching the rugby?

“fair play to them, they did well tonight”

Beat Croatia 5-1 and won every qualifying game home and away.

South Africa, until recently a virtual police state where the vast majority of the peole were denied basic human rights and brutally conrolled by the army/police and you question what the security will be like.

Poverty and high crime rates are true, but there’s parts of Wigan I wouldn’t fancy going after dark.

South Africa will, I hope and believe, be the best World Cup ever. It’s a fantastic country.

Best of all, there’s NO time difference, so we can all see the games at sensible viewing times!

Of course, we will build up our team to such an extent every man, woman, child and their dog will think we’re going to win it.

We aren’t, but who cares, this is our national team. For the players, it’s about representing our country, playing for the shirt, pride and passion. Nothing to do with money, or greed. Give me that every time over the Premiership.

    C’mon England!

And yes, I know our manger isn’t English.

Good on you Nothern! Thats proper devotion. If yo are really struggling for time jump the 600 outside the train station it shoots down the bus lanes every ten mins and yo can jump off near the asda!

The 628 would drop him off at the red robin!
He’s hardly going to have time for a pint now, is he?
I was actually racking my brains trying to work out if I could manage a quick one, either there or in the ground, but then realised I have two hours on the train!

he,s on a two week break.

So, if he was banned on the 7th Sept he’ll be back around the 21st (Monday)?

Make a note in your diaries!

Thats a big increase, but its still only about £8 a game, which isn’t bad. Where the club lets the kids down is the matchday prices which I believe are quite expensive (although I may be wrong).

Of course it is and I’m lucky enough that I can afford it, dare I say, easily. I’m certainly not going to knock the club on ticket prices.

However, not everyone can afford it and if mum and dad aren’t football fans, a 14 year old isn’t going to be able to raise that sort of money to go by themsleves. I was also lucky my dad was a Latics fan, but remember my first season ticket was part of my Birthday, or Christmas present (a long time ago).

The 628! I think I used to get that to go to John Rigby. Does it go through Kit Green and up to Orrell? Mind you that was 23 years ago and if truth be told I didn’t actually go that often either!

Day 76 and unsurprisingly the housemates up for eviction are…

    … King, Kapo and Lindsay!

    You decide…

    Hopefully he won’t b e able to post for a while now…….

It’s not permanent, but when the ban is lifted, if he persists again it will be permanent.

In the meantime enjoy the break.

Could you give us all some warning just before his parole is due?

    Well done admin.

Whilst relieved he’s gone, can’t help thinking a forum where all the numpty/nuisance/stupid posts get dumped would still be a good idea.

Some of the bone-idle gits who pretend to support our club from the pubs and clubs of Wigan on a Saturday should read that Northern……and be thoroughly embarrassed to call themselves Wigan fans

Thanks fella, but there’s actually a fair few travel even further than me, home and away.

”Everyone goes on about us having the ‘best deal’ in the Premiership for fans. But I disagree”….do me a favour, yes Blackburn’s this season are cheaper than us, but we’ve had ST’s available at £13-£15 a game for 3 seasons now. You’re right about the prices for older kids, they should be cheaper, but no adult can have any complaint about being able to pay £13ish a game…..and before anyone says “but what about £30 for Utd etc, we actually play 19 home games a season not 4.

Got to agree with that post. Adult prices are really good value, but kids aren’t. What is the difference between a ten year old (my lad last season) and an eleven year old (my lad this season)? He can’t earn money and no-one gives me any more money for him, so why do the club believe a ten year old’s season ticket is worth £76, but an eleven year old’s should be £140 – £160?

Is there only me looking forward to the match on Saturday?

All the anger and pi**edoffness has subsided and I just can’t wait to get to the DW and shout my head off for the lads.

Anyone else feel the same or has Bobbyswigan and his ilk worn you down?

    Come on Wigan!!

You’ve no idea just how excited I am.

It’s my first game of the season!

A combination of holidays, work and kids has kept me away so far, but not this week. Nothing will stop me, although I might miss the kick off.

My lad plays Saturday morning football, usually 9 o’clock ish kick off. This week 10.45. That might not sound too bad and he’ll be done by 12. However, the game is in Milton Keynes!

12.40 train from MK Central to Crewe, change for Wigan and arrive at about 14.35. Never walked from the station before. Can’t take more than 25 minutes can it?

    is bobbyswigan really…….arky

No idea, but he is a massive wind up merchant, so probably!

Arky = Parakeet = Bobbyswigan = how many others?

Or, how about a new forum just for moaning?
