How about issuing a warning to anyone who keeps starting new threads on the same topic then, if they persist, ban them?

and so wanders off to make a brew. Meanwhile…

This thread is in serious danger of staying as a sensible debate, with good opinions being voiced by all. There isn’t even any name calling or insults (apart from Griff calling my post drivel ;) ).

    I need a lie down!

”Now that the need for the ‘marriage’ is no longer required, or latics are not part of his long term business outlook, disposal is very high on his agenda.”

Wouldnt DW Sports replace the “marriage” that was once JJB , why would he give up the free ads for his new company?

You didnt really think it through that much did you?

i beg to differ, and suggest you typed your drivel without any thought,

pray tell me which are better bed fellows with a football club, a company that sells football related sports items as ‘a major part of its total sales output’, who every football fan in this country has probably purchased something from at one time or another,
or an company that panders to poseurs, overweight mothers and wanabe mr universe’s, who are that wrapped up in looking at themselves in the ‘gym’s mirrors’ they dont know that football even exsists.

    please tell me
After reading that, it struck me that a sports retailer with every football fan in the country as a potential customer would probably be best advised NOT to associate itself too closely with ONE team.
After all, we’re a fickle bunch us supporters. We tend to be loyal to one team, no matter what. Well, some of us are, but maybe not all?

This loyalty is usually to the exclusion of all others and even shows itself as hatred of some rival teams. How do you think the average Bolton fan felt knowing that if he spent his money in JJB then it would benefit Wigan Athletic?

Now, I only gave this about 30 seconds thought and maybe 2 mins to type it. Hope it’s not drivel.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

You really do have a problem, don’t you?

Why do you feel the need to create 2 threads within 3 minutes on exactly the same subject?

    You’re obsessed.

Best thread I’ve read on here in ages.

It’s time those of us who want to SUPPORT our team started to make ourselves heard over the noise of negativity and whining coming from just a minority of people.

I say noise because, if you look, some of these moaners have already racked up hundreds of posts in just a few weeks since the new board got up and running.

It would seem that the positive majority tend to keep their counsel more, take a more considered and thoughtful approach and don’t rack up 20 or 30 posts a day!

Most of those on this thread have just a handful of posts to their names (Horc is the exception and certainly not included in the list of moaners).

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but some of us are guilty of sitting on the sidelines (I know I am) and letting the negative posters dominate. Maybe it’s time we made ourselves heard more and then hopefully this will become a better, more balanced, forum for all of us?

Bendywendysfriendly has got me off my backside and posting. About time too. Well done fella.

You should try living where I do – Milton Keynes.

My lad plays 9-a-side on Saturday mornings and his team often get free tickets to see MK Dons. I went to a game last season and not only is the ground full of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, West Ham and Spurs fans, but, and I kid you not, they wear their colours to the MK Dons matches!!

Baseball caps, polo shirts, tracksuits and replica shirts were all on display.

Now, I’m sure there’s a whole other debate about whether the MK Dons should even exist, but how these people can a)have the bottle/stupidity/insensitivity to do this, or b) don’t get stabbed/punched/abused is beyond belief.

Within the last 5 seasons, I have actually seen a guy wearing a BOLTON training top in the JJB/DW stadium. Honestly. I think somebody had said something to him, as he was pulling it over his head in the refreshment area.

    It beggars belief.

(This being the Bolton Wanderers that ADVERTISE bus services to their stadium, in Wigan bus station!)
My nephew plays for a kid’s team in Wigan, but his kit and training top have a Bolton Wanderer’s badge on the sleeve. Apparently a few teams in the area have a link with, or are supported in some way by Bolton.
