BBC Sport’s Ben Smith learns that Wigan chairman Dave Whelan and manager Roberto Martinez have held “extremely constructive” talks, but no decision on Martinez’s future will be made today.
Smith adds that the pair will reconvene at the start of next week – either on Monday or Tuesday – with Whelan wanting to see if he can fulfil a number of requests from his manager relating to the construction of a new training ground and the academy.

So its going to drag on for another week at least. Ugh. For the good of the club, this needs to be sorted ASAP.
(On the other hand, if Martinez puts his foot down and says he will only stay if the new training facilities go ahead, and Whelan goes ahead with the plans then it would be great for the long term future)
I think he stays.
The Leeds fixtures will be good and also all the derbies ! I hope we hit the ground running and start to challenge for promotion it will be such a lift for us all if we do !Disclaimer- By using the word “We” I am not insinuating that I play for the club !
I hate people who get annoyed at people who say “we”. Seriously what’s wrong with it?
I am looking backwards, using a mirror to look at my monitor. Its very difficult to read.
This season all my holidays will be during the Football season…
I think there’s a chance our away following might be better with no streams next season.
The people who go to away games are typically not the same people who will stop coming just cause we’ve been relegated.
Ill be disappointed if we don’t take a 1,000+ to some of these local aways.
Now that Pulis has left Stoke, if Martinez does go to Everton….
The prospect of StokeBall at Wigan makes me sick.
However, it would surely please those people who constantly shout get it forward at the match.
< Insert joke about Crusat being small>
Our stewards have always been pathetic with away fans in the home end. It was a terrible showing by them letting all the Villa fans in to their end.
It would be a brilliant idea to include EL in season tickets, or offer packages with season tickets that discount the tickets.
However, it makes too much sense for the club to do it.
You are a sad excuse for a human being and a terrible waste of our finite resources.
Was asked at the presentation evening tonight if he will be taking us into eurpoe and he said “yes”. Looks like he’s going nowhere.Well, he’s hardly going to announce that he’s quitting at the Awards dinner is he?
It won’t be massively cheaper, but there will definitely be less or none of those £40+ like United, Liverpool, Chelsea (Even West Ham was £39). And there will be a lot more local games in Lancashire and Yorkshire, cutting down on travel costs.
:D
One player I won’t be sad to see the back of. Hard worker, but not a striker in any shape or form.
Speaking of EL the club needs to sensibly price tickets and advertise it very well or we could get embarrassingly low crowds.
