Its a big challenge indeed but I wouldn’t want to hear anyone dismiss it as if it is not the aim this season.
If it doesn’t happen no need to throw any toys out of the pram but it has to be the objective from day 1 otherwise I don’t think there is any point in trying.
We have to be realistic so as long as we win the Europa and retain the FA cup I wont see my arse.

I am happy with this signing although I would like to see Nicholls sent out on short loan deals even if it is for a Championship team.
We don’t actually know what the get out clause is or that the fees rumoured to be offered are accurate.
Whelan and Coyle might have been willing to accept slightly less on the basis that the business is conducted sharply and the amount paid in full so we can use the funds for our own recruitment drive.
Seems a daft clause to me in a league where 5 million is bugger all. So if he had scored 25 (rather than 11) in the Premier league last season we would have still got 5 million? Its not the worst bit of business we have done but it hardly looks shrewd. Will be glad to not sign any more African players as you lose em for 2 months every 2 years for the African nations which is too disruptive.He may not have wanted to sign for us without a reasonable release clause.
As far as I am aware it was only activated upon relegation which was never a part of the plan going forward.
All the incoming players are saying the right things too which I would think is down to Coyle selling the club in the right way.
We are a very attractive club to play for at Championship level.
Interesting to note the comments about his best position being as a central midfielder & not much kop at defending as I’d assumed he was being signed as a right back – dunno why but I must have read that was his natural position.Hopefully he will be used as right back coz personally I think the club has more than enough very good midfielders already here & I don;t think him or McCann are better or even as good as most of what we already have in that position
He mostly played in midfield for them last season which is why I think they will refer to that but my thoughts are that he has been signed primarily as right back too.
Diversity is great in terms of options should injuries arise but if he comes good at RB I think Boyce is more than capable of playing at CB.
I like to check the forum’s when we sign a new player and Perch definitely comes with the best reeferences…
