Nice to hear from you Oz, if you’re anywhere near Daisy Hill in Brisbane pop in and say hello to our Mike who’s a worriers fan but hey, he’s still our kid.
:cheer:

Or write “up the tics” on his lawn with weed killer.

I think we had green trims for 9 years I seem to remember the puma kit we kept for 3 seasons, the 2 Adidas strips lasting 3 seasons then 2 Patrick strips also for 3 seasons all with green trims. I quite liked the green it gave us unique colours, or did Tramere wear the same colours for a while, cant remember.

By the end of the game, when the presentation was going to happen, we had no choice other than to get onto the pitch perimeter with the kids, FOR THEIR SAFETY. Otherwise, they wouldve been crushed against the boards. Some dwarf of a bloke, Latics fan, didn’t like me doing this and started muttering. Told him to get lost. Loads massing behind us, obviously to go into pitch, so I did what I thought was best for my kids.

Kids safety is the paramount importance.

Give it a few years Vat and your kids will be bigging it up being there the day we won the title. There will be no harm done in the long run.

Rangers would be a brilliant friendly. Combined with a charity fund raiser for Help The Heroes would be superb.

Might see a return of the 1980s union jacks for that game, Would be a great friendly.

Pretty sure the Donny stewards will be on the ball today, I’d expect a quick trophy celebration if we win, Donny wont put up with all that bollocks we had 2 seasons back.

I might just be a boring old fart, but I struggle to understand why people have to drink when going to a game. My dad’s theory is a lot of blokes do it because they’re hen pecked and away from the dragon for a few hours, so it’s their chance for a drink.
I’d sooner stay sober watching this team of ours. Plus, I have two young uns with me so it’s not like I’m on a jolly with the lads. And the cherry on the cake, I’m driving to Doncaster, so that’s me strictly on Pepsi anyway!

Enjoy your drink…. But not too much that it ruins your day.

When I used to take my lad when he was younger I wouldn’t have a drink, these days football is more a social occasion, meet your mates have a few beers while having a laugh. I’m also passionate about real ale so away trips allow me to sample beers from elsewhere.

And I’m definitely not hen pecked, big snowy wears the trousers in his house and I always have the last word in any arguments………….Yes dear!

Northern rail will be chuffed bits with the 5.30 kick off when there’s a couple of hundred pissed up Wiganers trying to get on the last rail replacement bus service from Piccidilly.

2 Trains will be running from Manchester Piccadilly at 22:37 & 22:46. I’ve spoken to someone at National Rail Enquiries and they have confirmed that those 2 services will be running in between all the bus replacements that evening.
Well there’s a first, Northern Rail using their loaf.

An idea I had a while back was some kind of ‘football bus’ service, where a couple of buses ran match day routes across the borough, kind of mimicking the tram service you get in continental cities on match days. A couple of branded buses, and free or reduced travel on production of your ticket, and tickets sold on board. Something like that.

I’ve done similar abroad, where your match ticket is valid on the train from the centre before the game to the stadium, and back to the centre afterwards.

Didn’t Charlton do that when they were in the Prem.

For anyone still thinking about the train. Below is what I’ve found which appears to avoid the Bus Replacements.

Out
12:22 Wigan North Western to Doncaster (Change at Manchester Piccadilly). Arrive in Don about 2:30

Return
20:44 Doncaster to Wigan North Western (Change at Leeds and Man Picc). Arrive in Wigan about 23:15

About £35

Pretty sure the Picci to Wigan is a bus this Sat.

Supporters Club have just put on a seventh coach to cater for those unable to find a way there.

Can we bring booze to leave on the coach for the return journey or is it completely booze free transport?
Somebody should of booked on the train.

There’s a gang of us doing the train, the bus replacement is not always on they do have trains running on some weekends between Manc and Wigan, If the buses are on this weekend get the train from Northwestern to Piccidilly then a train straight to Donny. On way back its via Leeds to Piccidilly or Halifax to Victoria. Bad news is that the late trains back to Wigan all go to Wigan Wallgate so will be a Bus replacement service.

I think if we ever get to the Premier league again we should give the east stand to the away fans so if they want to bring 6 or 7 thousand they can, make the south stand the home end and the North stand the family stand.

You can p**s off with that idea pem, I like sitting in the east,
