 here we go, had a sherbert?

You’d think I didn’t want us to win. Did you watch it?

Of course I know you wanted us to win but with every defeat you get so carried away and spout vicious tirades against Malky instead of realising that this rot which has gone through the club set in long before he arrived. You give him dogs abuse for Delort but forget that Rosler did not pick him yet it was he who signed him.
It’s Dave’s way of going about things on here. He’ll belligerently argue, twist your comments to suit his own, always have the last say and generally piss people off. Eventually when enough people turn on him he’ll go into melt-down and disappear for a while. He then reincarnates himself and starts all over again.
Sammy, he’s definitely not Dave. Dave is still posting on Facebook and his views are, shall we say, less measured and rational than those of Tez.

No, you’re confusing what is fact and what is opinion.

It’s not my opinion that I have seen Delort and didn’t rate him – it’s a fact. I have seen him and I didn’t rate.

OK so it’s a fact that you have an opinion, FFS!

Also it is a fact that neither Rosler nor Mackay rated him enough to start him on a regular basis.

Didn’t argue that wasn’t a fact. I laughed at you using those 2 as your back up!

The rest was a rave about a player you hadn’t seen that would be better than Delort, the fact is he hasn’t been played for whatever reason, the same as Delort wasn’t or Riera wasn’t. Hopefully tonight and Friday the lad will be played and score a few and you’ll be proved right in your optimism.

Can you honestly see that though?

Firstly, what’s funny about backing up my opinion with the judgement of Uwe Rosler(ex professional footballer, ex manager who took Wigan Athletic to the play offs and an FA Cup Semi Final and who saw the player on a day to day basis) and Malky Mackay (ex professional footballer, current manager who took Cardiff to the Premier League and who sees the player on a day to day basis) over the judgement of Terry, Wigan fan?

Secondly, and I’ll put it plainly and bluntly this time: I have not raved about Mckay! I have never raved about Mckay! He might turn out to be as bad (in my OPINION) as Delort for all I know!

This the gist of what I was saying – because you’ve obviously missed the point or have chosen to ignore it, so, again it is summarised:

Goal scorer, French League 2 versus goal scorer, SPL

I’d go for the SPL option every time because he’s been used to a more physical game.

If you want to take that as a display of optimisim, then go ahead. In fact, judging by the mood of most of your posts, I can see why you would see that as optimistic.

So in answer, no, I cannot honestly see that because there is nothing to see!

in reply to: Is there anybody on this board… #139564
Standish,

a. That’s YOUR opinion not a fact. I wouldn’t claim my opinion as fact.
b. How can you use Rosler and MM as your character references and not expect me to laugh?

I can’t get out of my mind the fact that you said, before you’d seen him kick a ball, that young Billy would be a better prospect than Delort/Riera because he’d be able to take a stud and wouldn’t mind the cold!
I’ll hold on to my view for a bit longer ta.

Like I say my real beef is with Malky, his appointment etc etc and the way Rosler ended up picking his team and setting up.

Delort in his first game v Blackburn away(I know we lost but for an hour it was arguably the best we’ve played all season) and Riera v Birmingham at home were performances the 2 lads up front we currently have won’t be able to produce imo.

Still can’t believe we never gave them a crack at playing together, despite us only scoring 10 goals in the last 16 games.

No, you’re confusing what is fact and what is opinion.

It’s not my opinion that I have seen Delort and didn’t rate him – it’s a fact. I have seen him and I didn’t rate him.

Also it is a fact that neither Rosler nor Mackay rated him enough to start him on a regular basis.

And you’re twisting my words to suit your own agenda.

You said:
I just find it weird how this dwarf in footballing terms is being hailed as our next best thing and his vids look good when he’ll be played in the exact same way Delort was. Delorts goals and talent looks better than this mons on video imo, that’s all.

I said:
Delort’s played and scored in 2nd Division French football – where defenders aren’t as quick as the Championship.

Mckay played and scored in the SPL – where defenders also aren’t as quick as the Championship.

However, he’ll have been elbowed, pushed and had lumps kicked out of him each week – unlike Delort, who doesn’t look robust enough in my opinion.

And that’s the difference.

No mention of him prior to this post, no reference to the cold, Riera, or Mckay being a better prospect – merely a nod that the Scottish Leagues are more physical than the French and that Delort didn’t look ‘robust enough in my opinion’.

in reply to: Is there anybody on this board… #139561
And I thought your argument with Delort was, he can’t be any good if Malky isn’t playing him. How long has McKay had so far?

The fact is gents, my argument has always been about the incompetent poison of McKay and the clueless Rosler when it came down to team selection and tactics. I was probably more fond of Riera than I was for Delort, I just thought Delort had less chance and both would have been a better choice than playing nobody or Fortune up there. I would like to think, looking at our league position and MM stumbling from one bad decision to another that I have been somewhat vindicated in my relentless view.

I just can’t have McKay is better than those 2 having watched him play, for a start he’s 5 yards slower.

No. My opinion was based on the facts that:

a. I have seen him in more than one game and he looked woeful
b. Both Rosler and McKay didn’t rate him

And as McKay being less of a prospect than Riera or Delort because he is slower, lack of pace didn’t seem to hinder Alan Shearer, Berbatov, Peter Crouch, Jordan Rhodes, Freddie Kanoute, Kanu etc!

I managed to bag five tonight in our after work 5-a-side so am eagerly awaiting the call.

I mean, according to Tez goals at any level mean you’re a shoe in in the Championship.

£5000 a week is my minimum request, but I will accept pie vouchers.

Should soon see our Inverness cheetah banging them in the Egg

You’re just narked cos you and your mates are firmly in the give Malky a chance give none of the players a chance just get rid camp

Sad
And that’s exactly what you’re doing with our new signing from Inverness!

in reply to: Is there anybody on this board… #139477

Well said vince. Far bigger clubs than ourselves have suffered the same fate as we have. Wolves as a recent example & look at how well they are doing this season.

Oh that’s alright then if bigger clubs have done it.

Wolves are doing alright, they have a lad up front for them, forget his name, scores plenty.
Indeed. Fairplay to you and Kenny Jacket who saw what Francois Keller, Roberto Martinez, Owen Coyle, Dean Saunders, Uwe Rosler, and Ian Holloway couldn’t.

I’m sure if I trawl through historical posts I’ll find the one where you announced to the world about the latent, untapped talent of Dicko being wasted in the reserves. ;)

in reply to: Cant score. #139438
Egg, I don’t expect you to know anything about football.

Delort and Riera is, was and always will be a better option than Clarke and McKay and that is as simple as I could ever put it. 1 game or 100 games it doesn’t matter.

I’m blue in the face now over how poorly our players have been utilised in the last few months by 2 managers and their staff.

That’s the bit I struggle with.

How do you know that is the case?

I saw more of Delort and Riera than I’ve seen of Clarke and McKay and I didn’t rate either of them.

in reply to: Cant score. #139420

Not scoring and now leaking goals by the bucket load with the form just getting worse both home and away.
Club struggling home and away? Oh great its wigan arhletic next and three easy points and a nice leg stretch!
The club has become a complete shambles in my view and sacking rosler now looks like the worst decision made at the club in many a year.
Bottom of the barrel to be reached when we hit league 2 !

No, the worst decision was picking Rosler over McClaren!
Do you mean Coyle over McClaren?

McClaren was already Derby manager when Rosler was appointed.

in reply to: Why #139419
I’d give you or donnas page the job I reckon

By that I mean I don’t give a fuck

In reality Pey Atherton and Joe Parky to round the fuckers up and charge at them. They’d get them going at least.

Everyone was terrified of Rosler by all accounts but that didn’t work either.

in reply to: Is there anybody on this board… #139418
What do we do if that doesn’t work?

How many times do we pay Managers off?

And that’s the problem Egg. It’s impossible to tell if it will work until it’s too late.

McKay should never have been appointed. He has too much baggage. But he’s here and I was willing to give him a chance.

Coyle was doomed from the start simply because of the Bolton connection. Rosler on the other hand got off to a great start and most people though he was an inspired appointment.

Just goes to show how quickly things can change.

As for last night. I can only presume he didn’t play three of his new signings as he though the team showed promised at the weekend and wanted to keep a settled side. Whatever the reason, it backfired.

But I still don’t go for this ‘get anyone in’ idea. Considering everyone thinks we are doomed already, what’s the point of paying half a million quid to get rid of McKay and bring in an unproven alternative to take us down as McKay would have done anyway?

If we were to preplace him it would at least have to be someone who might stand a good chance of turning things around and/or build for next season – and at present I can’t think of anyone.

Wigan Athletic will NEVER grace the Premier League with it’s presence again because Whelan has created a monster. When he waddles off at the end of the season with all the accumulated cash he leaves the club in a 25,000 stadium they won’t be able to afford to run. “i want to make sure the future of Wigan Athletic is secure” Bullshit!! within 5 years of him going he will have them kicked out of their own stadium. There will be a clause in there somewhere where he would be able to fuck them over. That’s what he does. he likes upsetting folk, it’s how he get’s his kicks. be playing Buxton at Robin Park in a few years. They were always going to go the way of pre 1995, Whelan just stepped in and used the club to make money for a bit. Now he will let pre 1995 continue and let them rot away.

Mercenary of the highest order.

This is a wind-up, you are fishing for responses, and I claim the £20 prize.

in reply to: Speechless! #139309

It’s has gone very quiet.

I wish Whelan would come out and make a t1t of himself in front of the press again so we all had something to talk about.

in reply to: Speechless! #139306

Bloody hell Phil! There are a lot of words there for someone who’s speechless!

in reply to: Leon clarke #139153
To me this is a pointless argument because it is between a fan with opinions, who is not afraid to criticise his club when he feels fit to do so and the other is a fan who has never said a bad word about his club who would make a good spin doctor! Neither will back down and so this is going nowhere……Again!
I have to admit that I do find it odd how some think it is the norm to drop like a stone and that it is nothing out of the ordinary! You should read the link I put up with the relegation from The Prem stats that I put up the other day. I don’t think that we have a God given right to be in The Prem but there is nothing to say that we can’t compete in this division! This transitional period and clear out does appear to be quite unconfined and just goes to show how bad MM’s predecessors actually were despite getting the usual ‘Full Support’ from the blind faith when others suspected that things were going awry!

I’m confused.
Where’s the blind faith bit Phil?

Of course there’s something wrong within the team – or we wouldn’t be second from bottom. My argument with Tez is about Delort, Dicko and Riera.

Sammy’s argument is as a result of his comment on my post.

Prefer our situation rather than that of Stockport County and more so Hereford United and at the end of the day Ramis Tavernier Espinoza Forshaw Riera Delort McManaman Watson Maloney Fraser Fyvie have contributed to our present postion by some inept team performances and god only knows what distruption in the dressing room. Good riddance and good luck to our newcomers and let us all get behind them on Saturday.
