Call me Ishmael. Some years ago – never mind how long precisely – having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen, and regulating the circulation.

Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people’s hats off – then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can.

This is my substitute for pistol and ball. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to the ship. There is nothing surprising in this. If they but knew it, almost all men in their degree, some time or other, cherish very nearly the same feelings towards the ocean with me.

Sounds like a whale of a tale to me.

I thought people referring to it as EPL was bad, and then recently I’ve seen it as BPL.

Not long before teamsheets contain Adidas Ronaldo and McDonalds Rooney.

Tonight I am mostly supporting estoril, Brugge, Zante and Seville. St Johnstone had another amazing win in Minsk and Swansea pissing their tie.

Don’t get everyone’s hopes up for a trip to a nice Greek island. It’s Xanthi – the Wigan of Greece!

My choices: I’d like a Scottish team – because we’d hopefully get a decent number going there, Lech Poznan – fantastic city even though the locals are nutters, and Braga – nice little city.

Are we talking about a size 5 football?

Think so. At any rate, it was a proper old ball, a ‘casey’ type with a bladder inside. I know that because I heard someone say that they had put it inner tube
I’d still pump her.

Auto-que is the Spanish term for a teleprompter, whilst Autocue is a British brand name for the same device.

    Neville Southall on Joey Barton?

    That’s a fight I’d pay to watch.

    Edit: Twice by all accounts

Went to see my doctor as I have an obsession with finding an explanation for continental drift. His advice: take tonics.

Good of him to take the time to answer. I would have thought he’d have enough on his plate.
Not sure what was on his plate, but he had a crust on his mantle piece.

(…I’ll close the door on the way out)
You two fossils are hilarious, you know that don’t you ! :)
Watch it Phil. You’re on rocky ground.

How did we win the FA Cup, because according to our beloved Roberto he could not adapt his football philosophy & style to win games outside of the Premier League ( his words, not mine ). That is one of the major reasons he decided to leave us.

    Auto-Que, RM Groupies !

Roberto who? Most of us on this forum have moved on. You seem pretty well obsessed with him though, as far as I can tell.

And if you STILL haven’t learned to take with a pinch of salt anything that he said in public, then you must be a pretty slow learner.
Like the post says: Just Reflecting !
Nowt wrong with that, is there ?
Anyway, as for slow learners; you took the bait and were easily reeled in
Bollocks, it wasn’t bait, it was a serious post, and you know it. Don’t go back-tracking just because someone disagrees with you. You spend too much time with that sneering, no-nowt Moss fella, that’s probably your problem.
Shall we rename this the Griff Forum, because you obviously don’t get it do you; this is a forum for football things past, present or future, which includes a multitude of opinions. All you seem to do is try and dictate to people what they can and can’t post, think or say. You don’t have to respond to any post; but you just can’t help trying to be Johnny Big Bollocks. Were you the playground bully.
You can keep me out of it, thank you.

When I typed JC in, I got the Jewish Cronicle.

    Buy it. It’s a snip.

    Thanks for the tip
No worries. But don’t band it about.

I think he could be a master card in our plans

His father is a Yank who used to work for the New York Times – a sort of American Express
You are too clever for us Griff- A sort of maestro if you will ! :)
Truly shocking. Enough already. Switch it off.
