The one as you leave J25 of the M6 is still refering to premiership football. No mention of the FA Cup. Maybe they are waiting until 24 Aug, when hopefully both clubs will be cup holders.

    Why not?

    ‘Welcome to Wigan
Home of the FA Cup winners
And Challenge Cup (that’s Rugby League – the one that the British Lions don’t play) winners

    They ought to care now.

They will care when they are held responsible for a serious injury or, worse still, corporate manslaughter.

An individual isn’t held responsible for corporate manslaughter. A clue is in the word ‘corporate’
No. Individuals can be held responsible under the doctrine of identification if the failing can be imputed to what is termed a “controlling mind”. For Latics that is likely to be determined to be the Chief Executive, Stadium Manager or the Safety Officer, whose roles involve day to day management of procedures within the stadium.

    http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/a_to_c/corporate_manslaughter/#a08%5B/quote%5D

Section 18 states that an individual cannot be indicted for aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring the commission of this offence. However an individual may still be prosecuted for common law gross negligence manslaughter.

The Act does not provide police with any power of arrest of individuals.

An organisation guilty of the offence will be liable to an unlimited fine. The Act also provides for courts to impose a publicity order, requiring the organisation to publicise details of its conviction and fine. Courts may also require an organisation to take steps to address the failures behind the death by means of a remedial order.
Errrrr……….does anyone fancy a pint?

It is something that has got really popular over the last 12 months or so. Almost every club is doing it and those doing it seem to be the young generation. I for one couldn’t care less. I enjoy getting drunk at games, home or away. Not everybody does that but it’s my choice. If I was you I’d just make sure I was more towards the front of the stand as they tend to be set off towards the back. Instead of reporting those doing it just accept it, enjoy the atmosphere and like they do support the club in your own way.

Alex, you’re usually a sensible lad, but you’re just showing naivety by sticking up for these morons who take flares to matches.

Flares are a fire hazard and can cause serious injury: simple as that. That’s why they are banned from football grounds.

If I take my children to a football match and even if I take your advice of sitting near the front, I don’t want to run the risk of some half-wit trying to lob a flare over our heads onto the pitch, misjudging it and ending up with my kids getting serious burns as it hits them or sets the stand on fire.

And don’t say they won’t throw them. If some kid with a flare suddenly notices the stewards or police are onto him, the first thing he’ll do is try and get rid of the evidence.

Add to that the potential that, each time a flare is set off, the club could be fined twenty-grand and/or supporters will banned from travelling.

Even the players don’t like people setting flares off, so how does that constitute supporting your team?

If you know any of the people who set the flare off, give them a collective kick from the overwhelming majority who think they are pricks.

Thanks for bumping this thread back to the top again.

    I wouldn’t mind a trip to Linfield.

Don’t forget that we can also draw the teams that fail to qualify for the Champions League. A trip to Celtic anyone?

Those IRA supporting, Poppy disregarding, English haters, who were allegedly recently singing songs that mocked Lee Rigby’s murder? Yes, that’d be a great trip.

It’ll be Jeff Hordley. He’s a big City fan and was sat next to one of my work colleagues at Wembley.

i suspect the christmas decs are hanging on ‘some’ houses all year. Nothing much else to look forward to, i also suspect.

Sudworth , the ‘club’ on this website conspire to keep it their own private domain. Stifling, i’d say.

Sudwoth is the alter ego of one of the members of the ‘club’!
Why did you tell him that? You should have left him thinking he was being really clever.
I hate seeing people drown.

Add to that the total ineptitude shown by the U21s and U20s this summer in their tournaments and there does indeed seem to be something rotten in the state of Denmark aka the FA, but we all know the only football in this country started when the Premier League (spit) began.

As for the women’s team, it’s breathtaking just how far behind they’ve fallen in such a relatively space of time. I blame it on all this tippy-tappy football they play.

To be fair, I much prefer titty-tappy football.
 Sorry, my sense of humour!
Yep, and that’s mine…
