OK, let me try and explain in full.

When I said Cockney Latics bods I have to be honest and say I didn’t mean
you.
I meant a proper Latics mon, like Jay or ex Cockney Latic like John or Jimmy T who may be lurking. Somebody who may say in passing, “hey Jonathon, you know those council spongers haven’t changed the signs around the Borough and it looks a bit daft as we aren’t in the Prem anymore but we did win the FA Cup you know and who cares the egg men won an egg cup in 2010?”. JJ may then get on to one of the afore mentioned spongers and say “hey, how come the signs haven’t changed yet? You were all over us with the ‘BELIEVE’ campign”. Then they might say “Oh yeah, your right and we’ll be on to it ASAP”

Your original reply suggested to me that you thought I may be a bit dim and that Latics went round changing signs when in fact it’s the council.

There we go, hope that clears that up and at any rate it sounds like they’re on with it now, which makes me :)

It’s probably best if you stop digging.

I see he was born in Kitwe. There are a lot of talented folk born there….

that FA cup win was second to none qualifying for Europe priceless BUT numnuts has really got to me how hes left us, Coyle good luck (and he wasn`t my fist choice) I`m more p*ssed were in Europe and I`ve no jollies left role on the new year for the next group stage and hes still a TOSSER

Numnuts?

we wouldn’t have signed six players by now; he’d be hanging on until 24 hours before transfer deadline then reeling off a stream of excuses. Well done Owen, for getting your finger out “smartish like”.

The delays in transfers were/are f all to do with Martinez. After identifying his targets, it’s Wigan Ath’s and Everton’s Chief Execs (etc) who take over negotiations.

Personally if I was to name my top 10 WAFC moments from the last 10 years then 6 are with Martinez at the helm.

Then you are not old enough lad, extend WAFC moments over the last 40 years and then see
Okay, so if you are extending to 40 years, what would you include?

Surely the top three have to be:

Winning the FA Cup
Winning promotion to the Premier League
Joining the Foootball League

He’s given us one of them.
The lad said 6 with Martinez, you have mentioned 3, and only 1 of them was with our ex manager. I stand by what I said.
Correct, he did say 6. Correct I have only mentioned 3.

I was asking you what you would include over the past 40 years.

But as you are obviously avoiding the question and just picking up on other people’s opinions, here are my six over the past 35 years – in descending order:

Winning the FA Cup
Winning promotion to the Premier League
The final run-in of the 2011-2012, which included beating Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal
Football League Trophy
Freight Rover Trophy
Joining The Football League (I was 8 years old at the time so the significance was pretty much lost on me)

Doing well so far, certainly numbers wise.

I reckon we might have a bit of Fortune with a striker, today.

Clunk. Nicely dropped. Morning after TNF is it?

Third thread that has gone down the tubes with puns and no credible discussion – pathetic

Unfortunately these things happen from time to time.

But you have three options:

1. Make a sensible post and try to get the thread back on track
2. Stop reading the thread and post your malcontent
3. Smile, because it’s supposed to be a ‘fun’ forum, and move on

He’s done well so far. Can’t take-away anything from the lad.

I’d tend to agree with that Egg.

I sincerely hope he does well with Everton so we can turn round to people who doubted his abilities and say ‘See, told you he was a good manager’.

in reply to: Scott Carson On Board #117316

He’s dropped a fair few bollocks during his career.

Joe Hart certainly has.

Can anybody tell me what we’re going to do now we’ve got four keepers? Has Owen got a secret tactic in mind?
OC has already fired Al Habsi off once and he might do again if last season is anything to go off re Ali’s form. :woohoo:
Ali could be out for the best part of half a season – so it’ll be three keepers, the same as most teams.

in reply to: Kone gone to Everton #117280

LMB has been informed by one of his contacts that the clause is 6.5M Euros, which equates to approx £5.5M. The dropped £0.5M is probably just lazy journalism as I very much doubt Newcastle bidding under that and having it accepted.

In fact, who’s to say Newcastle have bid at all and it isn’t just a story leaked for the purpose of trying to get Everton to hurry things along and pay the money up front.

in reply to: £5 Million, Why ? #117241
Good business i.m.o…..poor mans Heskey ,touch of a rhino.Difficult job now is finding a finisher who will bag 20 plus a season in this league,a difficult task.Or will we use the 5 mill on wages for 4 players rather than transfer fees ?

I’d guess most would be used on wages as £2M – £3M strikers will be wanting Premier League football.

I like to check the forum’s when we sign a new player and Perch definitely comes with the best reeferences…

Did you do that on purpose. If so – very clever!

in reply to: Training… #117227

Isn’t it a good thing that they all look knackered as Coyle is obviously putting them through the mill?

Unless he went on holiday with them all and their families I don’t think Coyle has much to answer for if they’re looking unfit.
