After the Bristol result tonight nothing less than a win will do.

My personal recollections of 2013 are that in the eyes of the purists it was largely forgettable.

So it has to be a good game for the purists to be a shock?

“I’ve told the players when I played here we all used to go to the old social club at Springfield Park and the players used to socialise with the supporters. There was always one bloke in there who would turn round to me and say ‘Graham, you did alright today’, he would never say I did great and told me sometimes that I was awful, but he bought me a pint and we had a chat about the game, and that’s what I like about people from Wigan, they tell you what they think.

“It’s not a problem in modern day football that everybody has an opinion, but let’s put all these opinions to one side until 4.50pm tomorrow and then we’ll see where we are.”

Anyone know him?

I’ve actually wished that I had packed in going when we won the cup.

20,000 other people did
That means we were getting 30,000 home fans into 20,000 home seats. And still they said our support was rubbish!
I think he means those who were loyal fans at Wembley and have never been seen since
Correct, and that isn’t counting all those “fans” who lined the streets for the parade.

Wimbledon finished 7th just behind Arsenal and above Spurs,Chelsea and Newcastle. They were very competitive that season and difficult to beat. I never fully understand why it is seen as a massive upset.

That Liverpool team was a bit special though.

Yes thanks Egg good read :cheer:

Tomorrow we must all pull together in the hope something can still be salvaged from this lorry crash of a season.

If we really go for it, we might just have a chance with the home fixtures. Villa, Barnsley and Cardiff have nothing to play for and Rotherham..well if we can’t beat them at home there really is no hope (might as well go straight to League 2 if we can’t beat them :S ).

4 wins would get us 46 points…still think we will need 50 but at least we would have a fighting chance if others slip up.

But FFS just go for it in the home games. Sooner lose 3-0 really having a go than another drab 0-0 or 0-1 sleepwalking into League 1.

Exactly

It isn’t Joyce who makes mistakes on the field or fail to pass to someone in the same shirt. The players are definitely to blame also.

And Dan Burn was booked for dissent for pointing it out.

Couldn’t have been put better.
We need to search for a manager with a track record and play our own players without all the loanees. Why is Flores at Blackpool? Surely he can offer as much if not more than Weir.

Yes, let’s hope he’s gone by 10:00am in the morning.

Got an e:mail from a Blackpool fan during midweek; he wants to thank Wigan for Jordan Flores !!! Enough said.
They play TWO divisions below us. Enough said.

Its Joyce job to motivate the players and get the best out of everyone of them.
Its his job to set them up to win want to win and make sure they win. Its his job to make changes during the game allowing for any injuries or anything that’s not quite working.
Its his job to attack the opposition know they’re weakness and sustain pressure .
Its his job as the home side to set his players up to push the opposition and score early on to make it as difficult as possible to give the opposition anything to build on.
Honestly has anybody ever seen us go for a win from kick off?

The wins in January which is why it baffles and frustrates me that we now play as poorly as we do.

You can tell he has lost the dressing room the way the players are almost apologetic to the fans after defeat.
We all know what the problem is hope it gets sorted before it really is too late.

I agree that he should go, but that does not absolve the players.
If they are so much together against the manager, then when they set foot on the pitch they could easily do their own thing, and ignore him, and play the ever flowing superb football that they obviously wish to, but are being constrained by the manager. But they don’t. Because they also don’t have aclue, and some of the blame lies with them too.
Exactly. It isn’t Joyce’s tactics that see the players fail to pass the ball 5 yards to a guy in the same colour of shirt or be able to put a shot on target.

The financial aspect is the sticking point with me as well. Can we afford to gamble?

Personally, I think the club built for this in January and he will be here to oversee new era subsection 4

Eccy Delph will become a busy place with Latics fans queuing up to clod their selves in.

Sounds like a good day out that. I’ll grab my fins and see you in 10.

We need a clean slate, new manager, new backroom staff and huge squad clearing. Every new manager we’ve signed of late must be met with the backroom staff saying, “Errrrr, awreet pal, this is how we do it at Wigan, look and learn”. We need a full overall and a breath fresh air blowing into all parts of the club.

I’ve always said I can handle being beaten by the better side if we have given everything.

They were absolutely dreadful today and our lack of fight gave them a win. I don’t think it will be enough to keep them up though.
