It’s now sold out
Damn, I’ll have to go to the Amex Stadium now.
If only I had the money and holidays at work to do so.
Well then Back in the day. Thank goodness some fans are starting to show some emotion about this mess created by Rosler. It is just not good enough. The football churned out is now even more of a bore than than that shite we had to endure under Martinez and his record is abysmal compared to Could. The team and tactics change more than my grundies and watching players struggle by playing out of position is getting beyond the joke. Fans have a right to show they are not happy with this mess created by Rosler. Its crap!!You don’t want promotion though as you prefer this league (as do I in some ways) so Rosler is doing a great job isn’t he?
Think I’m busy that day :-?
It’s usually a 12.15 KO isn’t it?
Just time to get there if you hitch a lift on DW’s helicopter :woohoo:
We usually kick off around 2.00 after the Hull game but swapped this year to the early kick off.

Just appointed Kit Symons as Manager full time.
Good or bad omen?
Thanks for all the input, just have to decide whether to concentrate on those who have done well or those who have flopped. Or just pick the more famous/notorious ones.
Cheers

Now that’s not a bad shout at all!! Can’t believe I didn’t think of that. Just need a catchy strap-line. I know – Hero to Zero, and vice versa the following week. Glad I came up with that cathcy little moniker. ;)
Like it matters. Nobody reads your stupid blog anyway ;)

Why is he a hero for scoring an equalizer in a 4th round League Cup match? A cup that is practically shunned by Premiership clubs! It’s Liverpool mate. Their fans are weird.
Didn’t Stuart Barlow return with Tranmere and score against us?Yep
Baines (pen), Rodallega, Sammon and Scharner have all scored against us after leaving, but I’m not sure I’d say they haunted us. I haven’t included Maynard as he was only on loan.We tend to be haunted more by players we tried to sign and players who haven’t scored in decades.
Can’t think of many off the top of my head who have come back to haunt usMe neither. Maynard and Sammon both scored against us this season though.
There’s plenty that have gone on to do nothing. Marlon King went on to do bird.
Lee McCulloch has won a few trophies at Rangers and is now Captain.
I saw others motioning their willingness to take that penalty but no, Tavs had the ball and no-one made the leadership call.Ah. I get ya! So basically there were a few players who WANTED to take the kick but it was a case of ‘it’s my ball I’m taking it’ in which case you’re right someone should have stepped in if they felt there were better players wanting the kick. Who knows, maybe there wasn’t.
what we lack on the field, in my opinion, is someone who has those qualities to encourage, motivate, guide and lead on the field – as well as take the tough decisions on who takes a penalty or a free kick. Mixing and matching the Captain on a game-by-game basis is not sending out the right message to the players who should look to a leader for inspiration and leadership on the pitch.Gary Caldwell and Boycie are the only two we have IMHO.
This is not as funny as some people make it out to be, indeed I feel it highlights a very important problem within the team. That is one of leadership.
Yes, we do have Boyce (as the longest serving team member) to fill the regular slot but who really is the Captain out there? Who motivates the team? Who has the bottle to encourage (bollock) fellow team members who are not pulling their weight? Who gets the team message from the club to the playing staff? Who has the charisma to lead, guide and motivate?
Oh! and who should decide who takes the feckin penalties instead of “I touched the ball first, it’s mine” attitude? The Captain/Leader should be the one.
Leadership
What has leadership got to do with taking a penalty? You either have the balls/ability to take one or you don’t. The captain telling you to take it even though you hate the pressure is hardly going to inspire you to hit the back of the net is it?
Just because you have the ‘bottle’ to take one does not mean you are best served to do so – that is a rubbish argument. To answer your question about ‘what has leadership got to do with it?’ – It takes a leader to sort out who wants to take it first of all (not the childish grabbing the ball and not letting anyone else get a look in) – I’m sure, as I have seen before on not only penalties but also free kicks, the infighting going on on-field on who gets to take it, there are others just as/more than capable.
Was letting a young defender who has had limited game time recently the best decision – “just because he had the bottle” – from where I was sitting there were a couple of others wanting to step up-to-the mark but no “I’ve got the ball so it’s mine”. Is that the sign of a good leader?
Get it sorted out – the Captain/Leader should know who has the balls/ability and sort it on the pitch – if it transpired that it was only Tavs that wanted it then so be it – but don’t give me this “if you’ve got the bottle” shit.
I understand that point, but the fact is though that you need to have the bottle to take a penalty. It’s just that sort of situation.
Let’s say that in training Marc Antoine-Fortune scores every time he takes one yet put him in a match environment and he misses every time because he always falls for the mind games of the goalkeeper or lets the crowd noise get to him (see the England football team). Technically he could be the best penalty taker we have but simply may not want to take it.
The captain or whoever saying ‘Marc is taking it because he scores every time in training’ is absolutely no use whatsoever.
Yes if say Shaun Maloney (or another known penalty taker) is on and Tavernier decides he is taking it then the Captain should say sorry but Shaun is our penalty taker end of (which I’ve seen happen), but if there is no stand out candidate which obviously there isn’t then whoever “fancies it” as they say is far better equipped to take it than whoever the Captain decides.
What the frig is wrong with anyone having supported other teams in the past and also what the frig is wrong with anyone having a soft spot for another club. Jesus H we had 10,000 home fans on last week and comparing that with the 1500 to 2000 that once came to watch us that leaves a good 8 to 8500 thousand who would probably have had a soft spot or supported another club.
Nothing at all. Ask the knobhead who decided that I should be hung, drawn and quartered because my mates’s dad took me to a couple of United games when I was 27 and I share a season ticket in the Stretford End with him.
