Bit harsh Egg. I read yesterday that Stam has a possible broken leg. I know the club were awaiting confirmation on the scan results & I haven’t seen an update on this.

Jason Roberts HAD a broken leg when we beat Reading and played on

Caldwell will always give 100% and would die for the shirt if we asked him too. I’m willing to bet he wouldn’t have gone off on Tuesday like Stam did and would have still carried on ala Jason Roberts when we went up.

The first one was McArthur not McCarthy surely?

The fans at Old Trafford are planning to salute Sir Alex Ferguson at his final home game with a round of applause in the 98th minute.

            :cheer:

We need at least 4 points imo. We need a win on the final day that is obvious but I think we’ll need something from Arsenal as well.

What is this sudden obsession with free coaches and tickets?

I have to admit that daytrippers do tend to get on my nerves but as people have said, everyone has to start somewhere and if a cup win adds a few hundred fans to our gates then so be it. Yes a large number will be off should we go down but I know plenty who’ll be back because they hate the premiership.

I’d rather win the cup so I guess I’m not a proper fan.

I said the same thing on Danish TV last night ;)[/quote]

Me too. Well actually that comment was off the record but I said similar.

                            Alex Ferguson isn’t doing anything.

I expect Jonesy to go with Martinez if he does

I honestly think its the “draw syndrome” that will send us down, I’ve a feeling we’ll draw toinght.

The way chav Pullis and Di Canio nearly swapped spit at the end shows draws will be enough for those above us.
A Sunderland Southampton draw looks a certain, , Sunderland no front line , Southampton not scored in 3.
                                QPR Newcastle banker draw,
We screw up against Swansea ( no Michu ) like we did against QPR then its down we go.
                                Hope I’m wrong but ……………..

If you read the stats in my preview for tonight you’ll see that a draw syndrome would actually have kept us up by now.

                                  Said similar at the semi-final.

Obviously I’m a rugby fan and have been since I was taken to Central Park when I was 3 back in 1989.

I didn’t get into football until the first Premier League season when my Auntie was watching the Manchester derby and told me to cheer for the team in red. (most of my family are Man Utd fans so it was the obvious progression). Man Utd then became my football team until a friend of the family asked me if I wanted to go and watch Wigan Athletic. “Why would I want to watch them, they’re crap” was my response but I was talked into it as it was my only real chance to see live football and off I went. 5 minutes into the game and I was shouting and screaming along with everyone else and the love affair began.

When I was told I couldn’t support two football teams despite the odds of them ever meeting being nigh on impossible, it took me no time at all to declare myself a 100% Wigan Athletic fan and I’ve never looked back.

I walked onto Wembley Stadium and promptly thanked the guy who took me to that first game. It’s been a very very bumpy ride since but I’ve been at each and every bump and days like April 13th and indeed Saturday make it all worth while.
