“The Sir Ben Watson Sponsored by Greenhalgh’s Stadium”
This season no teams blew me away exemption Brentford
They were the best side I’ve seen as well but may not even go up!!!
£100k a month is probably more like it I would think especially considering he signed his new deal why DW still owned the club.
I’m pretty sure that sell on fees only relate to any future profit ….otherwise why would any buying club agree to them ?
In any event as Egg says all payments due (up to now) have been made.
Barnsley have been in the bottom three virtually all season, continuously since September, I think….still in bottom three at the end of 46 games ….as such they deserve nothing other than relegation.
Their absurd claim that they are the only ‘clean living club’ in existence exposes their puerile thinking. Virtually every club would be in our position if the individual or company that owned them immediately and arbitrarily stopped injecting any funds ….and if the owners pulled such a vile trick (as ours did) then they would instantly become “cheats” according to certain South Yorkshire simpletons. They seem to conveniently forget the figures released for last season as well that shows they lost £3m trying to gain promotion.
In DWs defence, all was going well until this second sale. Money spent on the squad, money spent on the stadium, money spent on the academy.
The second “sale” wasn’t a sale at all though was it? ….it was just some ‘paper construction’ …a deliberate ruse engineered just to facilitate this travesty.
Not that I blame Whelan in the slightest, Choi played his part at first and surely did sink money in, but when he realised this ‘getting to the Premiership lark’ and the untold riches awaiting there is a sight more difficult and way more expensive than he imagined….and that our drain on his resources was adversely affecting IEC valuation he decided to drop us like a hot brick.Pretty much
No sniping here
I suggest you read back through some of your comments on the Callum Lang thread.
Do you have any links or sources to Cook being on £100k a week BTW? He would be on more a week than several players combined if that’s the case.
I see the crisis comaraderie has gone on out of the window and general sniping has crept back into some threads, I was quite enjoying not wading through petty insults.
Indeed
Who has bid for Lowe and Garner?
And there is the stickler. We can’t sell players that nobody wants. Every bid for every player will more or less be accepted once they actually come in. Cook will take at least 3.
In DWs defence, all was going well until this second sale. Money spent on the squad, money spent on the stadium, money spent on the academy.
The only reason he wasn’t paid in full was because they agreed to defer wages.
Egg never said that any money had been paid. He said we’ve stuck to the agreement. Perhaps no instalments were due for the first year?
We’ve PAID the agreed number of installments.
If no money was due I’d have said, “no money was due”
Don’t think they specifically state a percentage of any profit, just a percentage of the fee
I really don’t think we’ll win the appeal if I’m honest. Or if we do we’ll probably get 1 point back.
Now then, young Adam Egg; the way I see it is this: our appeal was based upon the Pandemic and thus the Force Majeure claim. If this has now been substantiated by the Chinese owner and we lose our case, then any future FM Covid claim by any club during this crisis will have to be knocked back as well; which really makes it pointless having a Force Majeure clause in the first instance. We could well see an epidemic of clubs in real difficulty through no fault of there own making. I think that a reduced points deduction is a realistic outcome that shows that penalty has been applied, but with a measure of leniency given the circumstances. That way, it doesn’t set the precedent that Covid cannot be considered in an FM claim.
Very true, BUT, I think everything that has come out since proves that our administration has very little to do with covid regardless of what au yeung says.
Have we actually paid them for Moore?
We’ve paid the agreed number of installments…….so far
If you go into administration before the 4th Thursday in March then the penalty applies that season. Had the Stoke game been played when it was supposed to then it would have been prior to that deadline.
The problem is, that covid screwed all that up and the timings of the season were not as rhey should have been so you can’t punish us using that logic.
Our whole administration is as big an example of force majeure that you’ll see but I doubt we will get any reprieve. If i’m honest the only reason I want the points back is financially we can sell players at a higher price. We’ll get some serious hammerings next season in that league.
