I wish I could share your optimism. You’re right in the fact that it takes a generation to bring the crowds but next season’s our last in the Prem so the crowds will dwindle anyway.
Sad truth is three worse teams kept us up this season and the fact we beat three of the top four is not an indication of how far we’ve come. It’s nothing more than anomaly. We’re in decline not ascent.
The calibre of teams coming up is far better than last time around and we’re going to struggle big time. It was purgatory this season.
Ain’t it great starting a season with your highest hope being you finish 16th or thereabouts?

I wouldn’t say Leicester, Blackpool or Cardiff were a higher calibre than us, then you have Brum and Wolves who will struggle, Stoke, West Ham, Bolton. We’ll be reet.
I hope so as it is the league we need to be in to take the club to the next step and I love putting one over on the media, PL bigwigs and even my rugby following mates.
On to the pitch invasion.
It looked pathetic and we could get in trouble for it. What will save us from that I think is that we didn’t goad the Hull fans like the Luton/Sheff Wed fans.
I seem to recall a threat from the FA/FL years ago that if we continued to pitch invade we would be fined or docked pts. (think there had been an invasion three or four times that season for one reason or another)
Other than not being able to understand your superb sense of humour…..aren’t you also a St Helens fan? What sport do they play again?

There is no finer site in the sporting World than the haka. That one is a tad strange granted, but the World Cup Final one or the NZRU ‘Kapa O Pango’ version are pretty cool.

It is around the RL world (granted that is only a handful of Countries but we’re the most famous name in said Countries)
Doesn’t seem a bad interview, but you always have to take these things with a pinch of salt in a way.
I think we need a big name player in the summer who will bring people to the ground, sell shirts and more important bring the likes of Moses, N’Zogbia, Hugo, Moreno, Watson, McCarthy etc etc on that little bit. Unfortunately it will come at a price and we don’t seem to want to speculate in order to accumulate.
Still, season SIX in the top flight. I’d have settled for playing a PL team just once back in the day.
